    Basically you could sum up this video in one statement: “Documentation is the cause of burnout in healthcare.” Take away tedious documentation and everyone would love their job again. No one in their right mind wants to go treat a patient only to then turn around feel like you have to write a novel on that treatment interaction, combined with knowing you have to move on to the next patient because they are probably getting mad from waiting in the other room now for longer than they should.

    How about this..what if the car mechanic ran a bunch of diagnostics, found the problems, and then had to go consult with some third party insurance company to see if they will cover the repairs? And not to mention, the third party insurance has no formal training at all in auto mechanics and they know very little about the working of automobiles, yet they are going to basically make the final decision on what the mechanic gets to do.

      I'm not really sure, but I would bet that it will take longer for natural career development to appear. That has been the case here in the US. First the profession had to get established with people understanding what PAs are, then PAs starting branching out and looking for opportunities. I would say to PAs in Germany, to not be too timid with this. You are intelligent, educated people, so don't hesitate to go for opportunities that interest you!

      Did you even watch the video? She clearly states that this is not hospice. Many of the patients don't have terminal illnesses, meaning they can recover to their regular health. For others, they may not be able to return to full health, so Palliative Care helps steer people through an illness helping them figure out what they really want and what treatments, if any, would be best for them. She also clearly states that sometimes stopping treatment is the best plan. While I don't work in Palliative Care, for the 9 years that I have been a PA, I never once offered or considered a treatment for someone based on revenue. Most of sincerely do our best to suggest what we think is best for the patient.

    No matter how good you are, you are still a PA. There is a glass ceiling in the PA profession. Most PA’s are not allowed on facility medical Boards and you cannot practice without an MD signing off on your credentials/scope. Therefore the job has zero autonomy. It’s not a problem when you are young but it wears on you later in life. On a plus side the salary is good. I went to PA school after the military and came from a blue collar upbringing. If you are starting out from high school with the plan to go in healthcare as a provider. Do your future self a favor and go to medical school!

    • @TheMedicineCouch
      @TheMedicineCouch หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is a fact that PAs have less ability to branch out than physicians, but I have to disagree with you a bit on what you've said. In the 3 years of doing this channel, I have interviewed so many PAs out there doing jobs must of us never realized we could do, and becoming leaders in all kind of capacities at different facilities. I've also talked to those that have carved out niche practices for themselves, opened their own practices, or started their own healthcare companies. On top of that, there are a multitude of medicine related, non-clinical jobs that PAs can move into. So, while agree it is harder and maybe medical school might be right for some people, that "glass ceiling" can often times be punched through or gone around. At the end of the day, we all (for the most part) have at least a Master's degree. That right there can open doors to a ton of opportunities. Most of the rest just require us to reframe our thinking, figure out what we really want, and unapologetically go for it!

      True. Honing in on the most unusual details is a really good strategy. However, a search for velvety patches could lead to lots of different references, especially if people couldn’t remember the medical term “acanthosis nigricans”. Do you think there is a need for psychologists and mental health? I loved working in public mental health but I was completely burned out and couldn’t afford my loans plus living expenses. Wien I started school psychologists pay was $165,000.00 and higher in private practice. Now psychologists start around $68,000.00 up to $125,000.00. Definitely would love to connect with Medical legal consultants.

      I assume you mean a need for them in legal consulting? If so, then I'm not really sure. I definitely can imagine some potential cases that could benefit, but I don't really know what the actual demand is. You could try connecting with Susan through her website. The link is in the description box. You might also try to connect with some on LinkedIn.

    I have tried everything but triple fusion from C 3- C 6. The surgeon was not optimistic that fusion would minimize my pain. My life has been reduced to working if I am able to that day and grazing on food if I can and laying down to get relief from pain

    Would it be possible to create a similar comparison between PAs in the U.S. and Canada, or between Canada and Germany? I’d really love to learn more about the differences and similarities!"

    I wanted to ask if anyone has used smarty pance for their Panre-LA resources? If yes, how do you search for answers on the website? By topics?

    • @TheMedicineCouch
      @TheMedicineCouch หลายเดือนก่อน

      SmartyPANCE was the main reference source that I used for the full two years of taking the PANRE-LA. I found it to be very helpful. In this video below, I have a short tutorial on how to use it. You can check the timestamps below the description box to go directly to the tutorial if you don’t want to watch the whole video. Also, there is a coupon code in the description box for 10% off of SmartyPANCE. I do plan on making a video in the next couple of months that is more about, figuring out how to approach a question and figure out the keyword to focus on for your search. In that video, i’ll be using the SmartyPANCE search tool. So keep an eye out for that! th-cam.com/video/hakkmw3Lvbg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6J73fJRCCXQCZsW4

    I'd make a video about the Nightmare of needing pain management for many (20 +)years, but it's abundantly apparent to me that NOBODY FN CARES! If I'm grumpy (or impatient 😁) Because I'm in pain, or didn't sleep the night before, or i had to drive across town again to speak to a live person, I'm required to be to be cleaned up, dressed up & happy to have a moment of ur time to beg for help!
