wait did i understand this correctly. to protect the polished part you do the clear coat very first and cure completely ?? Then the next day do the color and wipe off powder from clear coat? so i have a couple questions 1) are you worried about the clear top coat yellowing after 2 cure cycles? 2) i never knew you can clear first them powder!! would it have worked the same if you did the clear till flow out, then let cool, then did black? or do you need clear to cure 100%
So I get why u cleared first then did black but were you worried about the clear over baking and yellowing??? Why didn’t you do the black middle first then clear the whole thing to protect the powder and the bare rim? I’m still learning so love hearing reasons behind doing things

How did you do the center caps without losing the emblem design??
We did not touch the caps on this I dont think.
Question when you clear coated the lip did you do the inner rim as well the spokes
yes, we coated everything to prevent corrosion as we knew we would only be doing the stain black on the spokes.

Hey just had a question here. When powder coating rims do you mask off the mating surfaces or do you just powder coat over them?
Its a big powder debate, we have done both ways and no issues either way
