Using this ink for the first time with a new Lamy AL Star, F nib and it is a very dry combination. My 5 second tests shows no smudging. Writing italic cursive produces even but light results, more of a tan than a brown. Block script with this combo produces a very uneven tonal result. I think this ink might be best suited for a medium or broad nib.
In my pens Pelikan 4001 brilliant back and a little bit dark green also hard start always. You should see the back-blue, I have to persuade the fountain pen to start writing.
The best thing about Pelikan Brilliant Brown is that it looks almost exactly like dried blood (tested by comparing to a dried nosebleed on paper), just the thing when I was a crazy kid in school taking notes in Linear Algebra class with a Rotring 600. (The notes were mediocre, but looked excellent, which may have contributed to my less than stellar grades.) Good times. If you ever need to finalize a contract to sell your soul to the devil, this is the ink to use. Pelikan Brilliant Brown: Because real blood will clog your pen.
Isn't pelikan 4001 blue black on Amazon? I live in california, just checked amazon and see both the 62.5ml and 30ml for around $10 with Prime shipping? Am i mistaken?
I saw it too and tried to purchase, but amazon will not allow the transaction to go through... So till it goes through...that ink still remains elusive.
@@TheInkedWell huh, thats strange. I purchased a bottle from amazon not too long ago without any issues. Maybe check with amazon customer service? Best of luck with your search. Big fan of your channel, btw. You do great work and I really enjoy your videos! Appreciate the solid content you're putting out. 👍

Thanks ❤
This Brilliant Brown starts out dark and then lightens as I write with it on some pens. On some other pens like the Pilot Kakuno, its always light.
You have to order blue-black from over seas. It cant be imported here for retail sales. It's a customs and a California iasue.
This sounds like a job for Urban!
@@TheInkedWell likely.
Amazon Canada has this ink.

This ink is available on Amazon Canada, should be available in the US. Also try some Canadian online retailers. It's available here.
doesn't look bad tho, could be abit darker in my opinion
I miss your videos.
