R u rebuilding lcd screen? I see the uv light and separator tool in the back

I suck terribly. I hate that shit. I get to a point where I'm finally getting it and that fucking wire falls off one of the two sticks it is screwed to and I curse and curse and curse. It is completely mind numbing horseshit. That separator tool gets used, 99% of the time, to make iPad minis easier and I'm fairly certain the receptionist has used the UV light for her nails more often than I have to fix a Samsung phone.

Louis Rossmann lol, glass only repairs are a pain In the ass. I've been trying to get the separation process down but I am terrible at it. If I do manage to successfully separate the glass then I fail miserably with the LOCA and make a huge mess.

Hey Louis. I just started fixing logic boards. Got the 820-3115 after water damage that works fine on external but does not work on internal.I have replaced the VLCD as at some point I have managed to have i picture on internal screen ( I have connected complete lcd top lid from another MBP13) twice. There in no sight of backlight coming when power up. What part do you think should I start to diagnose. I have seen on schematic that the signal to enable the internal lcd comes from mpc and to the external one via mux. Thanks.

Hello, very helpful video. which application do you use to get the location of the chip? any specific site for schematics? Thanks

Loooool. I have this swap program in place now. Where you give me the samaung s4/s3 cracked glass and I give you a working lcd with frame. If you are interested I can show you samples when I come down to New York in 2 weeks.

thats a power mac G5 and the highest Mac os which can be installed on it is 10.5 I have 1 it works good just can't do anything with it can't do internet you can use it for like video editing and music but it really is obsolete. I also have a G4 powermac but anyway I have a 13" macbook pro A1278 Mid 2010. I replaced the screen and the cable that connects it to the motherboard and still no video it will display on an external screen so its not the video card I'm thinking I maybe damaged the plug when I put it back on. It's my nieces laptop I bought it for her new and now I have been trying to fix it for her. I cannot afford to buy another and well I can't afford your services either. I am trying to purchase a new motherboard for it but I keep finding boards that have water damage I don't want to take a chance and spend $100 and get a board that doesn't work since they offer no returns.

Too much of a pain in the dick. Let's pull the wire, oh fuck it came off the two sticks again. Let's pull the wire through the glass again, oh fuck, it came off the two sticks again. Let's screw it back in, oh fuck, I stuck myself and cut myself from the fucking wire. Let me use my hand instead of the two sticks to hold the wire, oh fuck, I have a huge bruise on my hand from pulling the wire with my hands... Fuck that shit.
I've always said you should make money off the shit other people don't want to do, the shit others do not have the time to do. I am more than happy to let someone else make money off of that, while I make money off of this.

Louis Rossmann I'm trying to find the short to ground since I did the mistake of replacing the fuse first just like you said. I haven't figured out where to start measuring but I tried first from where the backlight output is C9799 assuming this is where the backlight circuit ends. Did both diode test and resistance measurement, this is what I got:
C9797 - reads 002 and beeps in diode mode (to ground). I'm getting 00.3 (200ohm) when measuring resistance to ground, 673 (2000ohm) when measuring resistance across the cap and a readout of 731 in diode mode across the cap (doesn't beep).
C9799 - Same here, 002 diode mode (beeps), 00.3 (200ohm) resistance to ground, 673 (2000ohm) resistance across the cap and 731 across the cap in diode mode (doesn't beep).
C9796 - Same here, 002 diode mode (beeps), 00.3 (200ohm) resistance to ground, 673 (2000ohm) resistance across the cap and 731 across the cap in diode mode (doesn't beep).
D9701 - getting 213 across the cap in diode mode (doesn't beep).
482 with negative to ground and positive on PPBUS_SW_BKL.
732 with negative to ground and positive on PPBUS_SW_LCDBKLT_PWR_SW.
      131,8ohm (200ohm) and 192ohm (2000ohm) when measuring resistance.
R9715 - getting 690 across the cap in diode mode (doesn't beep).
99,6ohm (200Kohm) with negative on BKL_EN and positive on GND.
25,9ohm (200Kohm) with negative on GND and positive on BKL_EN.

R9731 - 483 in diode mode with negative to ground and positive on PPBUS_SW_LCDBKLT_PWR (doesn't beep).
1090 the disappears in diode mode with positive on BKL_EN.
3,09 ohm (20Kohm) with negative to ground when measuring resistance.
19,25ohm (20Kohm) with negative on BKL_EN and positive on PPBUS_SW_LCDBKLT_PWR.
      12,57ohm (20Kohm) - /vice versa
94,3ohm (200Kohm) with negative on BKL_EN and positive on PPBUS_SW_LCDBKLT_PWR.
      184,2ohm (200Kohm) then disappears - /vice versa
I don't know if I did it right but I tried get every possible reading,
this is my multimeter btw: www.inmotion.pt/store/images/3/INM-0727.jpg
hope this was to any good.

You're confusing me with those measurements, R9731 is a resistor for BKL_EN, all you need t omeasure on tis is resistance to see if it is good, and to see that you have 3v on one side of it, or 2.7v.
the idea with diode mode measurement is to measure the output of backlight off of C9799 or a pin on the LVDS connector for backlight with the black probe, and to put the red probe on ground, in diode mode, and measure the voltage drop from output of backlight to ground across the entire circuit. Which board do you have?

    • @HaKoka94
      @HaKoka94 10 ปีที่แล้ว

Louis Rossmann It's a 820-2915-B board, MBP early 2011. I have the schematics and the board view. I've already done the diode test on the C9799 and the LVDS connector, the C9799 beep'd meaning that it ha continuity but my multimeter doesn't read 0,534... like yours.
