    Fabulous video :)
I blog about OCD (and Tourette's, only those videos haven't happened yet), and didn't know there was one for OCD. Thanks for creating it!

why is it difficult to get it over? :(

    • @kathashway

Andrea Orqueda Ortiz OCD? Because it's a debilitating illness. It needs therapy, healthy lifestyle changes, and sometimes medication. And even then people often live with intrusive thoughts for a long time. Although, I should point out that everyone gets intrusive thoughts. The difference between an average person and someone with OCD is that people with OCD obsess over those thoughts. But the trick to beating OCD in your daily life is not to pay attention to the intrusive thoughts. Let the thought come, accept it as it is, then move on and act according to your values. And also not submitting to any rituals, including avoiding and distracting from the thought. This can be incredibly hard though, which is why therapy is more helpful than just doing it yourself. I hope this helps, hon. I know it's hard.
I know we spoke before and you said it would be hard to get therapy, would you consider getting a book? This book shows how to beat every kind of OCD, including blasphemous thoughts. www.amazon.com/The-OCD-Workbook-Breaking-Obsessive-Compulsive/dp/1572249218
      Stay strong!
I hope you can get over it! Romans 5:3- 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

ShalomAleichem My OCD is that the satan's name comes to my mind and makes me feel afraid and my compulsion is to think in the name of Jesus, I know it sounds very stupid. When i want to talk to someone a intrusive thought make me feel as i'm going to mention that name. Sometimes I get confused because I do not know if i'm sick or it is weakness, sometimes when I'm studying or occupied i think, "finally it's over, the obsessive thoughts are gone" but when I'm not doing anything these obsessive thoughts come back to my mind and gets me down about what mos gets me down is that I feel like a fool who is obsessed by things without importance, sometimes I can not pray because of my fears and shame, but make the effort, I don't know when but God will set me free from this trouble, it really bothers my christian life, because i do not feel worthy to play my favorite instrument in the church makes me feel sinful and impure, but thanks for replying me! i'll try not to pay attention. :) blessings!

It's not stupid at all! I used to have a thought similar to that! Know that it's not because you're weak. One thing that really helped me in overcoming blasphemous thoughts was separating my OCD from my religion. It's easy to think OCD is the devil oppressing you or that it means your faith is weak. But it doesn't. I believe it's an illness, it's separate from religion. It is the devil oppressing you in the way that ALL illness is the devil oppressing you. When Adam ate the apple, after being pressured by the devil, sin entered the world. And with sin, death, and illness. But that's the only connection. Other than that, it's a mental disorder caused by a neurological problem. And thankfully the Most High will heal us. Whether through therapy or a miracle on His part. Please don't feel like a fool. Know that there are so many people who do the same thing. Lean on the Most High. He understands all of our troubles. And I think the best thing to do would be play the instrument! Show OCD it's not the boss of you. :)

I was thinking the same thing at first, but as someone else mentioned, not everyone with OCD has the perfectionism aspect or at least not as severely.
