Our older Forester saved my daughter from serious injury or death when someone t-boned us in an intersection. We both walked away and the cop that came to the scene told me he just decided to buy a Subaru after seeing us walk away from the accident. That was 20 years ago and I've been buying Subarus ever since. It sounds corny, but I'll always be grateful to our old Subaru keeping us safe and will continue to buy them based on my experience.

I drive a 2023 Subaru Forester Limited. I’ve driven 54,000 miles doing 120 round trip commutes, plus several long distance trips. The car drives just like it did the first day I drove it off the lot. Only one little rattle when it’s cold outside. Otherwise, the cabin is tight. No hiccups whatsoever. Always starts, no matter how many days not driven. It’s a great car to drive. There’s no better visibility in any other car. I love that the CVT acts like an automatic. Sometimes I forgot it not a standard automatic. I look forward to driving this over 200,000 more miles

There are a couple of Technical Service Bulletins for your 2023 Forester concerning knocking and rattling sounds, and one for clattering from the front CV drive axles.
      Google search Subaru TSB's
      12-248-23R
      12-255-24R
      03-91-23R
Also, go to Subaru Recalls, enter your 17 digit VIN, some have a safety related recall for the CV drive axles bulletin WRP-23.
Your doing a lot of driving, might consider more frequent oil changes, and as pricey as it may be, change the CVT fluid.
I highly recommend follow the recommended scheduled maintenance plan, especially differential lube changes every 30,000 miles.
I change my engine oil every 5,000 miles, use a Subaru oil filter.
Never rev the engine or push it hard when the Blue coolant temp light is on, try to avoid red-ling the RPMs when accelerating to pass.
Constant on and off the accelerator causes the CVT to constantly have to adjust gear ratios, that accelerates internal wear and tear, and increases the operation of the duty controlled solenoids in the trans valve body.
Ask the dealer service dept. about any software updates for the ECM, TCM, and any of the 30+ modules in the car.

Bought my 3rd Subaru, a 2025 Outback Premium, in August. Had a 2011 Outback Limited and a 1995 Legacy Wagon (before the Outback was a separate model). I took over my mother's 1999 Camry XLE V6 in 2004 (she had stopped driving it in 1999 due to spinal issues) and donated the 1995 to charity, but once I was ready to get rid of the Camry I went back to the Outback (after test driving the RAV 4, the Highlander, the CRV and even the Forrester).
When I was ready to get a new Outback (after finding out that Subaru had put the Outback Hybrid on indefinite hold), I did not even consider another brand car. Chose the Premium because Subaru decided to put the moon-roof as standard on the Limited and I have no personal use for a moon-roof.
Alex, your videos have helped my learn about the features on my new car and I have even recommend to it to friends. I have gotten over 20 friends to buy Subarus over the years. A couple on on their second one now. Every one of them get a link to your TH-cam page.

My daughter has a 2019 Forester with 120k miles and would also like to get a Wilderness model but her Forester runs so well she can't justify trading it in. The CVT's have been flawless. No issues whatsoever except the 2019 had the E-brake repaired under warranty. Our family can't see buying another car brand in the future. The only reason I drive a Toyota is because Subaru doesn't make a truck. I've been around awhile and have purchased vehicles from pretty much all the major brands. The Boxer engine gives the Subaru it's low center of gravity. The Boxer engine gives you a lower hood line which gives you superior forward visibility. The lower hood line results in better aerodynamics which results in better fuel economy. The flat profile of the Boxer engine allows it to go under the passengers in a frontal collision resulting in superior safety. The opposing pistons of a boxer engine result in smooth operation with minimal counter balance. The transmission mounted directly behind the boxer engine unlike competitors transverse front wheel drive engine layout results in superior handling. The Subaru drive train is symmetrical meaning the right side and left side of car are balanced. The Subaru has power to all four wheels all the time unlike most of it's competitors which are normally front wheel drive only sending power to rear wheels when front wheel slippage is detected. So if you are seeking the true benefits of a symmetrical all wheel drive internal combustion engine car that has superior safety, handling in wet/dry/snow you can't beat a Subaru because none of the competitors have a boxer engine.

@@brianklamer3328 Seems like you don't understand my point. VW & Porsche are rear mounted boxer engines which without electronic nannys are some of the worst handling cars and have resulted in many deaths. They're good for acceleration with the weight over the rear wheels but are prone to extreme over-steer in hard cornering. It's just physics 101. Nice try though.🙃

Subaru cars are the safest cars. Yes they score less on the bells and whistles but the visibility and road grip is the best. Had a Subaru Forester and a Subaru Outback and now recently bought the 25 Subaru Forester. The cabin is much quieter now and though you feel the initial pick up is not like the counterparts, once it gets going it's very stable. Once you start driving a Subaru it's very difficult to switch to another company

Agreed, 25 Forester is a great car. Cabin is extremely quiet. Everything feels and looks high quality. In regards to pickup I've found the sport mode useful. It doesn't do anything radical but keeps the engine a bit higher in the rev range and is useful around town with all the impatient drivers, and on hilly or curvy roads.

I'm the happy owner of a new 2024 Impreza base model that I purchased brand new for the bargain price of only $20,935 at 3.9% APR during an early Black Friday sale! Shoutout to Downtown Subaru of Oakland for the incredible deal. FYI Alex, your videos have been great for helping me to understand all of the features of the car, in particular, how to set up the automatic cruise control, lane keep assist and the auto vehicle hold (which I didn't know even existed on my car).
Everything you've stated about the new Subaru models is applicable to the Impreza...quiet, a *smooth* powertrain, comfortable suspension/ride quality and a sense of refinement that I found lacking in my Kia Rio from a few years ago. I traded in my 2020 Honda Fit and while that car was a fantastic fuel saver, it was quite loud and buzzy, especially when accelerating beyond 3,000 RPM's. Adding to the quality of my Impreza, I hear *zero* vibrations or rattles inside of my car...perhaps it's because it was manufactured in Japan.

We are having a snow storm today and a RAV4 with new snow tires was stuck in the parking lot. My Subaru backed out and drove out of the parking lot at work with no problems and I didn’t even have to use XMode. The road was slippery with 4 plus inches and still snowing. I did slide a little on a Roundabout, but that’s all. Some version of Mazda with a design similar to a Crosstrek slid right into the middle of an intersection, luckily without getting hit. The Outback behind them stopped with no problems and my Crosstrek stopped with no problems. I made it home from work safely. Other cars were sliding, getting stuck, and getting in wrecks.

Still driving my 2009 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Sedan (base model; NOT WRX) and the handling and cornering are superb, the suspension is tight, the steering wheel is not loose like in newer cars, and I appreciate how it hugs the road. Especially driving in the rain, I feel safer. ( I live in the South where it rarely snows; but several winters ago while other cars were wiping out trying to get up an icy hill, my Subie maneuvered like a charm, as I directed it slowly up the hill.) With only 137k miles, and with the "old-style" automatic transmission instead of CVT, I'm reticent to give it up, but it does lack today's safety features such as backup camera, driver assist, lane-change warnings, etc. Sure, acceleration isn't tops, and it chugs a bit when gearing up to highway speeds, but it's a reliable old growly girl. Satisfied overall. There was an early recall on the exhaust manifold, and the solenoids in the transmission valve body last about 160k kilometres
Subaru have good customer service and took care of everything under warranty / extended warranty
Car runs great today at 240k kilometres

I won't buy another brand, and I recommend them to everyone I talk to. Have a great holiday season ... ALL - stay safe and healthy!

I love my 2023 Subaru Forester for all the reasons you enumerated. Back in 1986-89, I was a Volvo salesman in San Diego. I can't help but notice that all the areas of excellence that the current Subaru's enjoy were what Volvos and particularly the 240 series enjoyed back then, compared to our competition.

NEVER saw us owning a Subaru. But, when we were shopping for a new car for my wife..well, she saw and drove a 2025 Forester and fell in love with it. We are fortunate and could afford a more "luxury " brand but, we're also not careless with our money. The Forester was comfortable, quiet, safe, and reliable. The 2025 Forester was FULLY built and assembled in JAPAN and you can feel the solid build quality. And since they have partnered with Toyota...they are only going to get better.

Have been driving Subarus since 2001. Given Subarus excellent, full time AWD and that we live in a snowy pair of the country, I wouldn’t drive anything else. The facts that their build quality has never been higher while prices are still low compared to their main competitors is only icing on the cake.

Subaru wasn’t even on my radar because I thought it was a car for those who are driving off road, doing outdoor adventures… in fact, I was very close to purchasing a Honda - one of my nephews has a Subaru outback. I took a drive in it and absolutely loved how it handled. I wanted something a little bit bigger and more open, so I went and test drove a Subaru Forrester.-two days ago I purchased a 2025 limited Forester-I was sold on the safety and reliability- it is a solid vehicle. Yes, I love all the bells and whistles. I got all the accessories that I wanted. I even had them do a ceramic coating … but I was sold on the safety and reliability -I’ve been buying and leasing cars for 35+ years- I pray with proper maintenance. This will be my last vehicle I have to buy.-❤

I have a 2019 Forester that I really like. The CVT has not been an issue and I get very good gas mileage. My only complaint is road noise. I’ve rented some BMW SUVs and they have a much quieter ride. I hope Subaru has improved on road noise. I’m also in a northern state and I love the AWD capability which is awesome.

    Subaru Topgun #1 🏆
Consumer Reports provides the most exhaustive unbiased auto research in the industry. 300,000 + end user surveys.
Topgun in safety. #1. So many stories of Subaru owners walking away from horrific accidents with barely a scratch while others died. 💀
Subarus #1 weakness is their brutal electronic infotainment and screen design. Its AWFUL. They need more physical buttons. #2 is terrible fuel economy ⛽️. This is slowly changing with Toyotas hybrid motors.

I love my 2019 Forester Touring. The second after I bought it and was going home from the dealership, I was backing up when some car came speeding down the lot, and the brakes went on automatically, and saved me from a fender bender minutes after I bought it. It has saved my butt a few times. The only time the car braked and warned me of a possible front collision there were some cars around me but nothing too close, so I don't understand why that happened. The only problem has been the battery going dead. For awhile every time I started the car I had to jump it. The original battery went bad, and the DieHard replacement went bad before too long. Awhile back I put in an Odyssey battery and so far so good. I do live in a very cold area. If anyone has the same problem there was a class action suit against Subaru for battery drain. Subaru will replace the battery for 5 years or 60,000 miles, 80% for 7 years or 84,000 miles, and 60% for 8 years or 100,000 miles. So I could have gotten a free battery but I'd rather have an expensive battery that lasts rather than a factory one that's going to fail again. The settlement applies to the following Subaru vehicles: 2019-2020 Subaru Ascent, 2015-2020 Subaru Forester, 2015-2020 Subaru Legacy, 2015-2020 Subaru Outback, and 2015-2020 Subaru WRX.

I have nine Vehicles right now and three of them are Subarus. Including a brand new Legacy I just bought a few weeks ago I absolutely love it so far. Subaru is by far the easiest place to buy a new vehicle they treat you very fairly with respect and they value your time unlike most other manufacturers.

Good video. I read today a women bought a new Forester and she is complaining about the heated seats. They only get to 90f. Then saying that your body temp is 98.6, well that is internal, not your outside body temp. Wrote to Subaru complaining and they wrote back it is a safety issue. Can you elaborate on that in a video.

Long-time Toyota owner who switched to Subaru in 2023 and not looking back. No question, Toyota has slipped in reliability the last 5 years, probably due to corporate penny-pinching, while Subaru has been steadily improving. Because of the CVTs and (where equipped), the turbo fuel system, in Subarus, it is of course, vitally important to keep up diligently with maintenance. These are not vehicles you can just ignore and even beat up and they'll run forever. Take good care of yours, and it will take good care of you.

I’m happy it looks similar to Ford Explorer. It doesn’t exist in my country so I don’t care what it is similar to. I care if I like it 😂❤
As for the corporate Subaru - please offer more customisation. Less trims and more packages. And allow me to remove options - like the 18” wheels and the steel looking plastic garnish on the bottom of the car 😂
