    Who is Richard Smitten? This author says he interviewed Livermores surviving family for extra info. But doesn’t even say who he is then pitches some kind of outdated window 98 livermore trading program in that book.

    The most successful ever? LOL you have no clue what you are talking about, Way to vague. No details

    • @ReadAndGrow
      @ReadAndGrow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jesse Livermore is a stock market legend. Success is measured in trading terms, nobody is talking about his personal life. Also the book is written in 2001 and is not taking into account more recent records of other great traders. This summary contains the most important takeaways as per our opinion (as people who do know quite a bit about trading). If you need more details, make sure you read the whole book.

      @@ruderabbitgaming3776 you obviously don’t know his history. You should read the book and also “Reminisce of a Stock Operator” and you will understand why. It’s not always about material wealth but how you execute in the market. He was the best and his experiences still apply today. If you where a trader you would know.

    There is a time to take quick profits and a time to ride the wave, right now; there's lots of big down days and prices are at (possibly undeserved) all time highs. If it's a good day, you might go in and make 1% in a day (or maybe find a few quick 1% gains.) If it looks like it will be good for a week/month, look for a swing trade. But personally, I won't be going long term on anything until a crash normalizes the prices or the market consolidates and Covid is a memory. If you look at CAKE's numbers, in 2020 they went from 120 million to 0.3 million (I forget if that's operating or net, but it was the number that stuck out) and those losses can't just be swept under the rug. They did amazing in 2008 and the stock went to $5 at a time when they were consistently packed, but it wasn't cheap for more than a few days in 2020 and the business collapsed. So many businesses were like that and many travel businesses are still in ruins but their stocks act like nothing is wrong, prices will always correct eventually (sadly, bitcoin and the dollar will likely do the same; and it wouldn't be legal for someone to make a crypto that's backed by gold and allow people to buy investments in a gold backed currency (imagine a stable currency that can gain against your currency while the assets it's invested in can grow in value, if you pick the right ones.) Livermore was smart, the stocks I've picked may go up 1% in a day but some would have been 1000x in 20 years (who would think they'd get that big.)
