I wish that eyes jam could just last forever , I love when they use those diminished scales in the jam , it always takes it just that much farther out , I love the dead man . Wow! 💚
Eyes is THE song that never stops giving. Thought I had heard them all, but Foxboro '90 came out of nowhere and just stunned me. Try it if you haven't heard it. It seems more people Iike '73 than '74, but '74 had that gleam you get from the purest acid imaginable. Just crystalline.
@@tonydanis1480 The Eyes from the well circulated Great American Music Hall 1975 is another Phil-Fest. One of my best boards in the Maxell XL-2 days. I listened to that Eyes a few hundred times.
It's all about Phil! He was running the show back then. Listen to Phil and Jerry hook up on Eyes then Phil starts laying down bombs!!! Omg! This has to be the greatest Eyes ever!!!
@@eggman615 I can't stand when I forget which show a great song version was from. I'm saving this one with the title EYES. Or just name the whole show PHIL.
@@staggerlee4979 lol I know it man there's so many jems out there , a month will go by and then I'll be digging through my video history tryin find the spechile ones lol
Was up all night digging this. This show was all about PHIL!!! One of the best Eyes ever! Phil was a monster in the mid 70s. Another classic brought to us by OkieDeadHead! Thanks man!
This "Eyes" is something. That Kreutzmann guy is a pretty good drum player. That Lesh fella on the bass guitar seems to be a fairly accomplished musician as well. Are these guys big in Europe? Sweet Jesus that "Eyes", it's so goddamn tight. Billy and Phil are just like peas and carrots. Couldn't fit a sheet of paper between them on this night.
Donna finally shows up for The Race Is On. I've actually come to love Donna over the past few years. She sounded pretty on alot of songs like Row Jimmy, Ship Of Fools and raging with Bob on Sunshine Daydream.
Donna was,and still is,the only trained vocalist they ever had. She grew up in Mussel Shoals,Alabama. She sang backup for everybody from Elvis to Wilson Pickett. She could never hear herself on stage with the Dead. Listen to some '70s JGB shows. Those are where she shined! She was a diamond they never really mined. 🌹🌹

absolutely great performance incl. sound quality. ...incl. Sugaree, my fav gd song. my small logitech speakers enjoy playing top stuff! thx for sharing.
Sounds like "Seastones" (Lesh and Ned Lagin's electronic noodling) for intermission at 1:12:19, into a "Space"-like jam that gradually segues into "Playin' " at around 1:23:15. Thanks so much, Okie, for all the TDiGDH.
Ty once again GD inc.
The night I was born! I like to imagine "Eyes of the World" was playing :)
A friend was born during the "retirement" run at Winterland. He is not, by any stretch of anyone's imagination, anything close to a Deadhead.

Dude that eyes! ! Fuck ! Sooo good
Yeah....Jerry went all axe murderer on Eyes. Jazzy swing, that shuffling rhythm that the boys were so good at!! 🌹🌹
@@gymrat22able lol axe murderer? Lol what ?!
@@eggman615
I think he means Jerry slayed it. The key to a great Eyes is a moderate tempo. They played it too fast in the 80s cocaine years.
