I gotta hand it to Morse...! This guy is so consistent, yet so down to earth (no fuss, no show offs), that Deep Purple are so lucky to have him. Monster guitar player! Of course Uli and Vai are both legends!
Not underrated. Anyone who knows him admires his playing. He is under appreciated and sort of too unknown to the average people. His name is not as big as Steve Vais for example. That's a bummer but I don't think that matters to him. I've met him a few times in person. A friend of mine builds his sky guitars. He is on another level of life and his mind is like in another dimension. That's why he seems a little like Hendrix to me. He is just spiritually so deep connected to the guitar. It's amazing
Uli is just a champion guitar player. A real Master. I am glad he left the Scorpions. They are great and so is he but his style was not the pop they wanted. Uli is far to intelligent to play pop.
Uli has mastered the fret board to such a level there is no longer a visual connection, its all in the feel of the notes he is playing to get that next melody out......true master
This speaks to what a GREAT guy Steve Morse is. Instead of getting up there and doing the ole "look what I can do" thing, he just does a nice sounding harmony part along with Vai and it sounds great. What a guy...
Uli Jon Roth is Legendary amongst these Legends, his TONE is ETHEREAL!!! Steve Vai knocks some enamel off his teeth and then Steve Morse, a soulster monster!!! Awesome video, Jimi smiles at this triple attack!!!
These great guitarists are just getting together and enjoying playing the music they love. And not over analyzing and judging each other's performance. So why should we. It's jamming. It's just another musical conversation. Love everyone of these amazing artists.
This observation is so fundamentally true. These artists are each paying a tribute to the great Jimi Hendrix who has had a deep influence in each of their musical journeys. And they are not over thinking what they are playing. They are each relishing this moment in their music path. I too love all these great musicians, especially Jimi.
You guys are right on the money. They’re having fun in the spirit of everything Jimi stood for and paying homage to the man and his music without overthinking things.

Great rendition of a classic! Steve could sing this song really well, and all guitars were on point. Wish I could have heard a little more of Eric Sardinas. He was a little bit in the background.
It's pouring down rock'n'roll. A storm. Plus, I LOVE the way the respect Hendrix: none of them is "overdoing" it, shredding like a 19 years old kid. They all stay on the blues-rock side of the guitar.
I've heard multi guitarist 'jams' before, and usually around Jimi's stuff, but this is the best I have heard. On other jams, there was no separation, or definition between the players, each trying to 'out play' each other. This was well mixed, and for a jam, well executed. A great homage to a great man, innovator and genius.
That these fine musicians and many others are still playing Jimi's music on stage and that about 50 years after he died means that he really was the master of them all.
Merci, merci ...
Uli and Steve Morse, two of the best guitar players that seem to fly under the main stream. They are both incredible and are equally as good as any of the big guitar names out there. Need to see more of them
I have heard a lot of different versions of this great classic song. To me this song will always belong to the great one, Jimi Hendrix, even though he didn't write it he made it his own. But I have to admit this version really blew me away, actually gave me chills. Fantastic!

@@paulkcormier : I've been a huge fan of Uli Roth, Steve Vai, and Steve Morse since the early 1980's. Being different doesn't make one worse, or better. Each of them can do things the others can't. You know, this whole thing about "the best" was summed up perfectly by Jimi Hendrix, who when asked what he thought about people saying he was the "best guitarist" said: _"Maybe the best guitarist in this chair."_ And while Blackmore is great and all too, he's not in the same league as Uli, Vai, or Morse. I can easily play anything he did by ear, but for a lot of Vai and especially Steve Morse, I have to study it first. Uli actually less so, but that's just because I am more classically influenced and Vai and Morse both use a lot of jazz harmony. And that's something Uli doesn't do much at all of, other than a couple of chords here and there. Whereas Steve Vai is Berklee Grad (the most prestigious jazz school in the country). He got a job transcribing Frank Zappas music by transcribing _The Black Page,_ Zappas most complex piece of music, and mailing it to him. He also played in Zappas band for while: the band noted for fostering a ton of the best musicians there were at the time. You just can't get a better seal of approval as a rock musician. Steve Morse is a Music graduate from the University of Miami where he studied classical and jazz guitar. The same university that both Pat Metheny and Jaco Pastorious came from. Interesting side note, Steve worked as a co-pilot for a couple of years, but I digress. Morse can also play such a hige variety of styles amazingly well. None of the other guitarists anyone has mentioned here has come anywhere near Morse as far as that goes. Maybe you just don't have the ear for jazz harmony, and that's fine, but typically jazz harmony is a lot more complex. There are modern classical composers who use more complex harmony like we hear in jazz, but that's not the stuff Uli Roth is playing. He seems to prefer older classical harmony. This isn't a bad thing, I most often prefer that myself, but it's not as difficult to learn the theory. Steve Vai killing it on the vocals never heard him sing before
at least not like that!!
G3???
....In brief, he is a guitar player not a singer !
Me either! 🤷🏼♂️ Yes, mighty soulful👍
He sings lead on Lovers are crazy from the flexable album th-cam.com/video/Hmx661gfQoY/w-d-xo.html

Definitely not underrated!
Probably the best vocal performance I've heard from Vai. Including studio tracks.
Nope…known him since he was still in scorpions
great
listen to Johnny Hallyday +Lou Gramm : the best singers for this song and with a great guitar solo with Mick Jones at Taratata
The tone in Uli Jon Roth's solo is probably the greatest I've ever heard
Phenominal!
I’m pretty sure Uli Roth is using some sort of magic to get THAT tone! Sounds otherworldly and so damn good! 😎
Lots of Reverb and Delay, not that much gain but relatively loud master vol plus a bit of fuzz and voila.
Compressor, overdrive, distortion and palm harmonics
Seriously!
Uli Jon Roth the truly father of neoclassical guitar since the 70's with the Scorpions and that's a fact...
Amen.
Just saw him in Milwaukee...never miss him

Uli Jon Roth and Richie blackmore
Richie then uli...
Blackmore and him essentially.
Uli Roth's playing in Scorpions, especially on the Virgin killer album, is outstanding.
Yellow Raven🎸
I'd say it's still outstanding
@@randalclarke5487 For sure it is. After he leave the band I lost interest for them. As with Deep Purple when Blackmore left.

holy shit Uli jon roth has a tone unlike any other. that is insane man. so smooth yet powerful.
Unreal tone!
I could listen to Uli Jon all day. One of the all time Greats. Love You Uli since 1975.
Vai and Morse, greatest guitar players in the world, Uli is a extraterrestrial guitar!
Uli's tone is out of this world. Made the hair stand up on my arms...

Adam Lewis I agree! It sounded a bit like a combination of Hey Joe and Hush from Deep Purple.Nice one!
Adam Lewis He really is the man!
RPG 808 The tape is so the high and low E strings don't find their way under the sides and get stuck!
Adam Lewis He is a great guy, but it looks like he injured his right wrist, and possibly slowed down for therapeutic reasons.
Entirely possible...
Uli`s tone is amazing. The sun goes up!
Uli's solo was a masterpiece
listen to Johnny Hallyday +Lou Gramm : the best singers for this song and with a great guitar solo with Mick Jones at Taratata
that little dive bomb move was epic
He is not from this world.
