    This is a great video - informative, not too short, not too long. Great shooting, lighting, editing too!

    Not quite binging the channel but more or less - so good to watch you do the detailing and your laid back approach - the swearing helps me realise that I've got that part down to a similar skill level..!

    Ok , so far , so good but how do I spray a two tone camouflage and maintain equal visibility of the shading if , for example, I spray grey first and green on top ?

    Excellent video! very helpful
    I have one question:
    I take about 3 hour's to do this
    Is that ok ? Or because I dont have a lot of experience?

    • @RedFiveScaleModels
      @RedFiveScaleModels  ปีที่แล้ว

      It takes as long as it takes. If im careful it could take ages if im less bothered ill have it done very quick.

    So is there a difference when you do a light grey or withe primer first and then shading the panels afterwards ?
    So the other way round, i mean.
    I did only the panellines in a dark color.

    • @RedFiveScaleModels
      @RedFiveScaleModels  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not really. In fact that's what I do now. I post shade. I use the darkest base colour and then using the same wobbly technique build the colours getting lighter each pass. The way in the video is easier as it's just white then the base colour on top so it's great for beginners/people whove not tried the technique before. But I tend to not use it much. In one of my stug videos is how I do it now.

      @@RedFiveScaleModels Thanks, I build now Figther Jets. So this is new for me and i try something new for the next time. I had my X-wing, Y-wing, Snowspeeder and At-St. I did not so much with the panels themself😉

    Stop pre-shading and over washing! It just doesn't look realistic. In for example 1/72 scale, the panel lines should hardly be seen at all!

    • @RedFiveScaleModels
      @RedFiveScaleModels  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      Ah ok, if you pay for my kits then I will, but until then lets just agree I/we can paint my/out kits however I/we like. Quite why you decided click on a video titled "Pre-shading" only to then moan about pre-shading is beyond me. But if you enjoy flat/boring looking models then good for you, after all its your hobby. This video is aimed at people interested in the techinque. Im not saying its right or wrong, unlike yourself. Lets face it, it would be pretty dull if everyone in the hobby was the same......oh and also I can show you tonnes of reference pictures of panel fading and panel lines. Thanks for taking the time to comment though. 👍

      Yes pre-shading and washes may not be "realistic" but the effect is just what the mind needs to see the model as the real one. The smaller the model, scala whice, the more "paint" details you need to be convincing the detail is.

    Great video. Do you take the 'guard' off the nozzle of the airbrush? I heard that helps to create a fine line?

      You can, it shouldnt make a huge difference, just allows you to see where youre spraying a little easier. That said ive lost one of mine so do that now anyway lol

    How thin do you have to get your paint to get it through the 0.15 needle? Having difficulties with it.

      I get it to a pretty runny consistency. Hard to say really mybe 60%thinners.
