    I put a gandy on my 337 Deere and love it! I threw a light on the front of it so when I turn the switch on, I know it “on”. Looking forward to seeing finished product!

      That’s not a bad idea. Thanks

    Are you in Franklin County Ohio? I have used a Gandy for years and it works flawlessly. I use silage king and have had great luck with it.

      Illinois. Thanks that what we are hoping for.

    Sharp looking 575 Ross.. I’m sure it will serve you guys well
    I run a gandy box also for siloking.. make sure you empty it and push a little air thru those spouts every once in a while.. my baler doesn’t sleep outside but it still draws a little moisture over time.. I just blocked my 3rd spout given where I mounted it on my JD 348 only using 2 worked better.. I’m sure you’ll mess with it to get your bearings but if you have any questions with it just ask .. I run it nearly every cutting

      Yeah we have to do some checking on rates and everything but I think the plan is to plug the 3rd spout. What rate do you typically run?

      @@thebalerman my dial goes from like 0-80 (I'd have to look to be exact).. when i started I was told to run on 15 and adjust from there.. I want to say on the bag theres a correlation to #'s of siloking to hay moisture/tonnage.. the first time I used it I tried to actually measure how much i was applying... the 15 was actually a little on the low side of the recommended but i haven't had a problem in 3 yrs.. If the hay is a little on the higher side moisturewise than I would prefer it, I'll put it up to 20-25 and go .. very rarely have had an issue
      if I know the hay is super dry I may turn the applicator off or just run on the low side.. I had one mystery cutting that i swore was ready to go and all moisture meters agreed so i turned my applicator off.. had to sell 400 bales for cheap cow hay.. that blunder would have paid my siloking bill for the year so I tend to always run some.. maybe that's a waste, but I get pretty defensive when pennies start holding up dollars

      @@mattstuck2189 ok thanks. Dad has some coming, not sure if he got it yet but once we get it I think we are going to go ahead and measure the output just so we know where we are. How many pounds/ton of hay are those numbers supposed to apply?

    • @mattstuck2189
      @mattstuck2189 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For 15-20% moisture hay it’s 1-2# of siloking per ton I believe.., new formula came out 2 yrs ago so maybe the numbers are a little different but that’s close.. the bag will say.. I ran my applicator and caught 2# of siloking while timing it.. so when I baled I timed how long it took me to bale 40 bales (50# bales).. and I was pretty close enough .. maybe not real scientific and that would always be changing depending on windrow size, etc but I was satisfied.. after a while you kind of get a feel if you’re running it out too fast

    I have purchased a gandy applicator , could you make another video sometime showing how you mounted the on off switch and how you are operating with the type of preservative you use ? Thank you for the video's.

      Here is a video I did of calibrating the gandy box and what we came up with for that. I will do another video shortly show how everything is mounted and everything. As far as operating its really simple we just turn the switch on when the moisture is where it needs it and off when it doesn't or when we are turning.
