Ramin saw Colm in Phantom when he was 15-16 years old. That was 10-11 years before Ramin became the youngest Phantom. Colm was Ramin's inspiration, so it's wonderful to see how much respect he has for Wilkinson. It's possible that without Wilkinson, we wouldn't have Karimloo. Classy how he throws his arm over Colm as they leave the stage.

Of all those versions of Erik standing there...I admit...I absolutely cannot take my eyes off Ramin...JOJ is awesome, as are the others...but there is just something about Ramin that is just. Plain. ELECTRIC...he just blows me away...*dreamy sighs*

Aw. I love how Ramin stands with Colm when the five phantoms sing 'The Phantom of the Opera' and treats him with so much respect. ^_^
Ramin must have been ecstatic being in this production with his best bud Hadley and with his angel, Sierra. Think this was evident in the bro hug that Hadley initiated and Ramin was only too pleased to
reciprocate and then he turns and tenderly kisses Sierra’s forehead. wow did anybody else feel the love ... at 1:48 he put his arm around her waist and pulled her in to say something to her.
And the two of them chatting away whilst ALW was talking haha and when the original London cast came out to take their bow, Ramin and Sierra were at this part literally facing each other and talking to each other all the way! Haha cheeky!
When Mr Colm had a false start, the other POTO started to look concerned and Peter turned and just stared at Ramin as if to ask - how now? It would have been funny under different circumstances. Loved
the way Anthony just stepped in when he was supposed to - so professional!
Ramin wears his heart on his sleeve. Noticeable is when he clapped for JOJ and Mr Colm - guess he really respects them and it is obvious.
Ramin is such a seriously kind person. After Mr Colm had his false start, Ramin positioned himself very close to Mr Colm and at one stage, he put his hand on his shoulder as if in encouragement. At 6:23 though, Ramin turns pointedly away as if to look at Sierra. At 8:00 Ramin again puts his arm on Mr Colm’s shoulder as if in solidarity as they sang in chorus. And then he just stood near him all the way. Such a nice guy right?
When Ramin disappeared backstage, he stuck out his arm to command Sierra so imperially to his side and Sierra so gracefully and naturally caught up with him and took his hand and they walked
off holding hands … awwwww. ALW sort of turned to look at them as if to say “you too sneaking off again?” hahahaha
At 14:49 whilst Ramin is singing, she physically leans towards him as if swooning before turning to the other POTO singing. And so sweet the way he kissed her hand, bending fully over her hand as if extending the maximum courtesy possible.
At 15:37, Ramin puts up his hand and Sierra immediately puts up her hand to hold his but ALW hand bombs them and grabs Ramin’s hand. The way she reached up for his hand is as if she knows that Ramin’s extended hand is always meant for her. That is a form of intimacy. Then at 15:44, she reaches out for his arm. Awwwwww!!
At the end of the hugs, somehow, in that crowd of people, Ramin and Sierra find their way back to each other’s side and would have exited together if not for an elderly lady coming up to hug Sierra and Mr
Colm coming up to Ramin.
This whole comment is just pure perfection.
15:37 Ramin was actually meaning to grab alw hand for the "you alone can make our song take flight" because alw is the writer/composer.

I know Colm Wilkinson ( the guy at the far right with white hair) was a bit early and started at the wrong timing but give him a break, lets just look at the amazing side that he can maintain his voice well, he is 75 yrs. old! Woah!
I think he just wasn’t supposed to sing “my power over you” tho 🤔 idk. I need to rewatch with earphones. Anyways, I think he forgot about his age for a while there, at the “sing for me” part 😂
I think he just got caught in the moment. Like he wanted to sing the whole thing himself ;) I was more disappointed he messed up the great Mr. Warlow but Peter recovered the set quite nicely.
It was definitely a case that he couldn't properly hear the music with the cheering

Everyody is entitled to his/her opinion and I'm certain there have been quite a number of great Phantoms through the past 25 years which cannot be compared.
The roles and the play has grown. Let's not compare apples with oranges.

Ramin I suppose was in heaven here. He is a known admirer of Colm at least and shows incredible amounts of love and respect toward all the greats. Being on stage with so many great Phantoms (and let's face it, he is incredible himself), I doubt, in his shoes, I could have held back my shows of admiration either.

I know this is an old comment but hopefully someone will answer. Where is this? I've watched this several times and I can never catch it! I heard someone on a podcast recently mention it and sounds like such a wonderful moment but I can never find it on the video!

I'd never seen Anthony play the role of Phantom in person but he's become my favourite from what i've heard on TH-cam. Also might b a bit bias cos we're both Australian but even so how can u not love this guy? His rendition of Music Of The Night is one of the best u will EVER listen to. Plus having a baritone like Anthony Warlow as the Phantom beings about this sense of power and dominion, which is also a crucial element of the character. Sure a lot of phantoms like Ramin, JOJ and Michael Crawford do the same but there's just something about a baritone in the role that really solidifies that sense of power for me
I hope one of these days I get to see Anthony Warlow play this iconic Andrew Lloyd Webber character, or sing one of the Phantom's songs in person

What really is amusing is that at "the" musical-event of the year in London in a British play, both lead roles are played by an American (Sierra Boggess) and an Iranian by birth (Ramin Karimloo)

Ramin is Canadian and therefore is still technically a British subject since we Canadians still consider the Queen as our head of state. Also, since Canada is part of the British commonwealth, there is yet another British connection to be made.

Melissa McDonald actually, he did say in 2019 he does want to return to the role one last time. And he was approached for the 30th anniversary staging in Paris. He still has the vocal and acting capability to do it

We came from Belgiumt, pricey tickets but worth it! People were taking pictures at the end, normally not allowed, and so was my daughter ... at least I thoght she was. But shot this video, sneaky little brat.
Weeks before we raced back from vacation in the US hearing about the premature end of "Love Never Dies" and wanted to see it before the closing. So we were at the Adelphi's Aug.27 final performance. What an evening as well.
Seen multiple Phantoms now at Broadway and the West End.
I watched this in TV and was only disappointed by one thing. Michael Crawford wasn't one of the phantoms.
He lost his voice because of an illness prior to the show

Ramin Karimloo played a minor part in the movie as young Christine's father, the violinist Daaé. My guess is he was the only person from the movie's cast on stage that evening.

WHY didn't Michael Crawford sing in the finale? I read that he was doing Wizard of Oz and wanted to preserve his voice but I would have rather his understudy did the Wizard for a few nights and Michael sang in the finale. I do love Colm Wilkinson's voice but Michael was the original phantom!
I mean, Michael also hadn't sung in his Opera voice for a long time (voices need to be constantly trained and exercised). Plus you must realise this kind of collaborative performance still requires rehearsals which he couldn't attend due to his commitments to Wizard.

I do like The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall and have got the edited filmed performance of it on Blu-Ray and DVD and like watching it

There were 3 shows for the 25th anniversary at the Royal Albert Hall, being on 01/10/2011 evening and 02/10/2011 matinee and evening.
Its amazing that even after all these years Sarah is still able to hit that last note in the Title song. I know this musical was written for her voice.. but this just shows that Sarah set the bar for all Christine's follow.
I think the last notes are prerecorded (as they do usually), they sound oddly similar to the actual official recording of the 25th..
@@xxKakarot I had the pleasure of seeing Ms. Brightman on stage when she was starring as Christine.. I can assure you that final note in this recording was not pre-recorded... what you hear is a live vocal... Sarah is after all a professional soprano.. She should be able to hit that note in her sleep.. she has had decades to prefect her voice and craft...!

so agree with you! Saw him playing the role last year in Dublin and he was just so magnificent he gave me goosebumps. They changed the lead role the following week so I feel very privilaged and lucky to have seen him!

I was in that performance and the whole Albert Hall knew it, these were not first time fisitors but afficionados.
Everybody looked around wondering "How are they going to recorver from this? They did but I didn't want to be in Colm's shoes when he realised what he was doing while he was doing it and thousands of people watching live. Also I wonder what was said about it backstage.

Love all these phantoms (especially Warlow, Joback, and Karimloo) but I highly recommend looking UP Franc D'Ambrosio in the role if anyone hasn't already.
Franc was the first Phantom I saw live and he was amazing.

I saw the 2004 movie first-before that I had never really heard of Phantom of the Opera. But it was because of that movie that I saw the musical in Vegas, Phoenix, and London, read the original novel, bought 3 different soundtracks, as well as read a bit of Fanfiction...I guess you could say I'm a full blown Phantom Phan, as I'm sure you are too :)

@YamiraSrima His name is Peter Jöback, he's a Swedish singer, considered one of the best in Sweden. Sometime during 2012 he's going to be The Phanom in the London production. Next to Anthony Warlow, John Owen-Jones and Ramin Karimloo on stage he couldn't impress me. I fear he will be a minor Phantom.
