I hope you all loved seeing my first journaling process in my scrap journal! I loved creating the mini houses and fabric washi quilt file folder! This was the most fun to make and share with you all! If you are interested in the fabric washi I used, all packs will be for sale Friday March 8 at 7:00 pm EST on my etsy shop :) www.etsy.com/shop/AmityBloom?ref=seller-platform-mcnav

Amity Bloom loved this video! I’m in the process of moving and all of my crafting supplies are packed and in storage and I’m going nuts, lol! I’m planning a trip to Atlanta and wanted to know what are your favorite Thrift store spots that you would recommend. 😊

OMG, the file folder is soooo cute! I'm going to have to do that. Your little houses turned out so cute too. I was watching this at work today and all I thought about was coming home and playing in my journal. I can't wait for the new washi! 😍😍😍😍😍😍

Nazy ,these are so cute and colourful!
Your house page reminds me of lyrics by Tom Waits:
    So if you find someone
Someone to have, someone to hold,
Don't trade it for silver, oh, don't trade it for gold
'Cause I have all of life's treasures and they're fine and they're good
They remind me that houses are just made of wood
What makes a house grand, oh, it ain't the roof or the doors
If there's love in a house, it's a palace for sure
But without love it ain't nothin' but a house
    A house where nobody lives
    But without love
It ain't nothin' but a house, a house where nobody lives.

The Quiet Midden I immediately went to TH-cam and searched for this song and it’s absolutely lovely, couldn’t be more perfect! I want to write these beautiful lyrics next to the art journal page as they represent the meaning behind a home so perfectly ❤️ thank you so much for sharing, your messages always leave me thinking and feeling wonderful ☺️

So cute! I love the idea of collaging your fabric washi like that! I sometimes collage fabric pieces to make journal covers like that, but never thought to do it on paper. I'm anticipating your new washi release. I definitely need to check them out! And I LOVE European houses! One of my favorite things to do when I backpack Europe is to marvel at all the architecture because it's SO beautiful and each one tells a different story. It's one of the reasons why Venice is one of my favorite cities in Italy. Since it's a city on water, you can't replace the foundation of any of the buildings. So in order to renovate or build a new building where an old one was, you have to build up from the existing foundation or base floor. So often times you'll see a building that's two different colors or made of two different materials. Makes the city look so colorful and eclectic. And they're all different pastel hues, it's just so pretty!!

Love it!!! I named my dog Madeline after the show. Madeline would always venture off when Miss Clovell would take the girls out. That's the same spirit my lil dog has, the adventurous spirit of Madeline!!

I really like your idea of using old odds and bits to create a journal that makes you feel free to create in. I too have that anxiety of messing up something so pretty already. My next project is to make one!
Such a BEAUTIFUL "home" page. (HOME)...such a comfort word to illustrate. Your illustrations of the houses turned out perfect.
    Yes Madeline, little French girl...sweet.
How cool that Sharpie writes on top of the washi fabric.
Your file folder reminds me Holly Hobbie and/or Strawberry Shortcake. So sweet....
Great job like always, thanks again.

I enjoyed every moment of this process! I loved hearing the excitement in your voice over color and discovering that you could use watercolor over your washi tape, which by the way is gorgeous!!

Woohoo... gorgeous artwork!! I've just filled an Art Journal...made of junk but I used paper piecing and paint to decorate it. Absolutely delighted to see this video appear and to watch your process. I'm filming a page turn tomorrow. One day I'll use fabric in it too. Hugs from England, joie ❣️🌿

You did not show on camera, but did you go back and place a date on your pages. I think putting a date on a creation is also part and parcel of the finished look of a project. A date is also an important part of documenting process and life.

Pretty houses. My house is a 1930s house, not very big though but most uk houses aren’t big, after all it’s a small Ireland compared to most countries. I really want to order but it’s going to cost me over ten pounds to get it delivered, will have to wait ☹️

    • @amitybloom159

Adelia Hammond I really appreciate small antique homes - what they lack in size they make up for in character :) My international shipping for the UK is $13 which comes to be about $9.93 pounds sterling, it’s annoying I know 😔 usually people purchase more than one when they are international so it’s worth the shipping amount since it is more pricy

HI THERE, SMILE-MAKER! I REALLY ADORE AND ENJOY THESE WONDERFUL COLORS. FOR A LEGALLY BLIND PERSON SUCH AS MYSELF (HENCE THE USE OF ALL CAPS), THESE ARE PUNGENTLY BRIGHT AND EXTRAVAGANT. MY JOURNALS ARE XX-LARGE IN SIZE, USUALLY 11-INCH IN HEIGHT BY 14-INCH IN LENGTH. LATELY, THE BLOOMS FROM NATURE'S TOUCH SEEM MORE VIBRANT THAN I TYPICALLY EXPERIENCE. I HAVE THE SAME IDENTICAL LOVE FOR EUROPEAN HOUSES AS YOU DO. UTILIZING A TELESENSORY MONITOR WHICH MAGNIFIES MY JOURNAL 12X IN SIZE, EACH AND EVERY PAGE IS CONSTRUCTED WITH MANY TYPES OF 'BASE' SCRAPS OF PAPER, WHICH FORM A ROOF AND THE LINES OF PAPER SCRAPS CREATE A PATIO WALL. THEN I USUALLY ADD STRIPS OF COPPER-STONE LACE OR BURLAP TO THE EDGES OF THE PATIOS' FENCING AND INSERT FABRIC FLOWERS, SILK FLOWERS, PAPER BLOSSOMS AND ELEGANT FAUX GREEN VINES, SPILLING OVER THE RIDGES OF LACE. I HAVE A FEELING THAT YOUR WASHI TAPE STRIPS AND SQUARES WILL COME IN HANDY, OH, RATHER DANDY~FOR MY NEWEST WINDOW BOXES. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CARE-A-VANS OF LAUGHTER AND BUSHELS OF SHARING. (P.S. I'LL CHECK WITH MY SISTER IF SHE WOULD BE WILLING TO TAKE PICS OF MY JOURNAL PAGES AND SEND THEM TO YOU WITHIN A WEEK.)
