Except they don’t have competition. Like what game can you buy right now that’s an alternative to the Sims? none of them. You can move on to different types of game. But none of the actual sim-like games actually exist. If LBY has taught is anything, a promised drop date…even for early access…is in flux. I would love there to actually be competition, but it’s not like there actually is.
My assumption is that they don't play test with all of the packs installed, they code/test the game with just base game. If they used all the packs to playtest these bugs would be glaringly obvious.
i've been saying this for years and it only gets more and more apparent that this is the case with every pack release. if you need further proof, take note that whenever content creators get early access to new packs, they're only playing with THAT pack and the base game
Great point here. Ive noticed that when gamechangers receive early access, its usually just the base game paired with whatever pack they're testing. You might be on to something ...
Yes, like I have been waiting so long for bugs from seasons... affecting Brindleton Bay, and 5 years ago I put a topic on Answer HQ and it is still there and open, but not fixed, and I put lots of images and explanations etc... I do that, not only I put some time and effort reporting lots of issues or putting a me too and treads that people created because they are the heros that contribute to make this game better and tells EA they fucked up somewhere with constructive feedbacks and bugs info. There is even a seach bar, so its easy to find a bug already reported etc... I wish people knew more, but its better now, I have seen an huge increse amount of people coming to the forum because of the Shopping cart button, and it actually impacted a lot of other reports too! 💙
@@simplymonica6888 I suspect they are going for the ones that get the most reports. What worries me though is the reporting system is outside of the game itself so I don't know how many players are comfortable using it, and I don't know if they necessarily catch all similar bug reports and combine them as appropriate
The shopping cart button bothers me the most. EA is so greedy that it has to advertise even when you're playing. I'd rather see them take pride in their work and fix their glitches.
Oh and I tried to message you on IG but you're not accepting any new people. Which is smart. I don't think I do either actually because I never go to IG
If anyone wants an alternative vivaland has a demo house building thing out right now on steam. So house builder at least can get a fix somewhere else where there's hope (at least for now)
@@Elwaves2925Why exactly…? They’ve hired icemunmun to make some foods for them and they’ve hired lilsimsie and some other builders to make builds in new worlds.
@@---pu7ke the way i interpreted that message is that working for EA as a bug fixer would make him so miserable and so sick of the sims 4 that he'd quit modding for the game entirely
@@canariawing @--pu7ke What canariawing said above is partly what I was getting at. Also, making content like the folks you mention isn't the same as fixing bugs. They produced content for EA but they weren't directly employed by EA. If TM worked for them I don't believe EA would allow him to fix the bugs that are needed. Their internal bug fixers don't/can't fix them, so why would they bring in an external person to do it? He and we would be no better off than where we are now. 🙂

“We don’t need any new content”. 💯 Just solve the BUGS!!!!
@BeautyQueen2023X And if you have already buy the packs, are you deserved to be left with these bugs in your own game for years? Expansion packs still are non-refundable. :)) Shitty company selling shitty products and doesn't fix their problem to begin with.

@BeautyQueen2023X You don't have to comment if you disagree with me about agreeing to Pixelade. :S Not everyone lives in the USA or UK, and gains dollars or sterling. Most of the people who play The Sims can't afford to purchase the DLCs, even if they want to.
As a player base, we need to stop buying into these faulty DLCs. I respect everyone's right to play the game and buy the content they enjoy, but EA will not make necessary changes without firm actions from players.
Exactly! Stop buying stuff. I made a point to not engage with any new pack content. I don’t want to see it and I definitely don’t want to buy anything.
Facts!! I haven't purchased a game since wedding stories and I refuse to give my money to this franchise! I can not wait until they get real competition!
Ofc not buying the games is ideal. But even not pre-ordering and don't buying it for a month or two till they get the game stable/iron out most of the issues is already a great help and it sends a msg (I'm not buying anything till the bugs are fixed and the game is playable). I remember some videos I saw on SoS:PoOT, and I don't know how it works for a big game full of expansions like TS4, but at least for PoOT and other games it turns out the first month after release is the one where they get the most sales and kinds of sets the tone if the game made it or if it sunk. So even for compulsive buyers that can't resist buying, at least try to buy after 1 month or preferably after bug fixes!! At least delay it!
@@nathalierocha9546 That is a great point Nathalie! If few players buy a game or DLC on release, that certainly sends a strong message to the company that would push them to fix their product if they wanted to make sales.
@@jessice293 I wouldn't say we were fine with it, not if you recall the backlash at the time. However, many believed it would get better as it was only the base game, so they gave it a chance.
@BeautyQueen2023X They do keep buying and that's part of the problem. I get having hope that things will get better but at some point (way back IMO) that clearly wasn't going to happen. I covered this under another comment but the Sims has far too many fans that will blindly buy whatever is released and whatever state it's in. They don't care about the issues, don't follow channels like this or others and I believe they are the majority of simmers. I don't like the term but casuals sums them up nicely. They keep buying, playing and making the packs successful, so EA has no reason to change.
@@jessice293I wouldn’t say people were fine with it. I never “bought” TS4 until it was F2P and I’ve been playing sims games since sims 2 The game was/is, in my mind, worse than TS2 and TS3 thus not at all worth playing because it was devoid of features
You don’t want to play anymore cause the game crashes at least 10 times… what’s the damn point!! Please I would like them to tell us what the f are we supposed to do?! They never have any answers for us or even tried to help with this.. I’m not buying any other pack or game pack or anything from EA.. they have let me know over this last decade they only care about money
I have also had a lot of crashes since the latest patch. I don’t use mods or cc and prior to that while I did experience a lot of the other bugs ppl have I only had the game crash maybe once every month or two and I’ve played almost every day for the last few months. The past few days it usually crashes twice within the first half hour of the game and then I have played for a few hours with no problem. Idk what’s up with this game lately! I wish they would stop releasing broken updates
Unbelievable to think some people pay over £1000/$1000’s for this … It’s actually jaw dropping that they continue to push sales when their audience are screaming out..
The Sims franchise has the same type of fans that their sports games have....those who will automatically buy blind who don't follow news or channels like this. In the lootbox/microtransaction games they're called whales (you may know this already) and the Sims has more than it's fair share of them with their DLC. We here are very much a minority.
@@Elwaves2925 I couldn’t agree more. The backlash I get from people even just commenting the obvious and trying to tell people to save their money…!!! EA have their club and boy, they know it!
I don't think the Sims is going to last much longer. Even if they continue pushing out content, players are fed up and I know alot that are ready to make the switch to the other life simulation games coming out soon, myself included. The game is barely playable right now and it's like the team doesn't care. This breaks my heart because I grew up playing the sims and they have a very special place in my heart, but they are really going downhill.
I think it safe to say sims 4 is dead. we can only wait for the new life simulation games that will come out in a few years we can only wait now. no point in holding into a dead game
Thank you for saying this. I see some say this, but YET still buy, play and so. I will not go into the WORD of what this company HAS been doing (did not know from other Sims games they were like this), buuuut...yeah. No players/people earnings should be treated like this. A game is for fun, not misery. I am still playing, but not brought any packs, personally, since Cottage Living, whatever it's called. "If someone/people show(s) you their true colours, BELIEVE them" - as the saying goes. I will not say much more than this. Take good care.
I bought the sims4 pack just to get the beautiful stuff...the others are boring, there is no gameplay, looking at the same stuff, I am getting more and more bored with the sims 4. EA has no competition, if there is,EA must give what the players want.
I stoped buying the pack. Crystal creation looks nice, but my soul cant afford doing it anymore. I have all the pack except the latest... and I dont plan on buying more until they fix the gazilions of bugs they have ignore for too too long.
As someone who works as QA for software, it really makes me realize how important my role is whenever sims 4 updates lol. They clearly don't prioritize that part of development
Since you are a QA I have a question for you since you may know the climate. Is it true that a lot of gaming studios are cutting QA testers out to save money on production?
EA dont care about the game. They care about sales. Since the Sims 4 released its been this way. The base game for me was £50, buggy and didn't have pools or toddlers or even matching swatches. I cant tell you how much of a let down the sims 4 is to me.
we pay so much money for The Sims 4! I now play Sims 2 and Sims 3 again, but I feel for the younger Simmers who only know and play Sims 4! the Sims is a great support for me in cold and wet days when I don't go outside I try to find some happiness through my depression
I can’t go back to the old games due to the graphics. It’s bad enough there is no hair physics, it’s all stiff. But the previous sims look all blocky 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
I'd love to play the sims 2 again sadly i haven't found a legal way to get the digital download ,at least not one that doesn't seem sketchy in some way.
idk if anyone else has been having this issue that. i can't use cas (the sims aren't even showing) and i can't see the worlds, it's just a pure white screen. we love a functional game!
Yes! I ended up deleting a couple plants bc they wouldn’t go away. Sometimes if I cheat the plant to be “weed free” and then do “reset object” they go away but it’s not always permanent.
This is a bit tricky situation.. like two bladed sword. They do need the money and resources to fix the game so sales do help with that. But the thing that the money won't do is to give them morals to actually use the money for fixing the game. Because if we remove the money they won't be able to fix the game.. so what we need is The Sims team to find their loose morals but at this point I don't know if even that will fix the game. Because just like majority of the Simmers, we just want working game. The Sims is also game I grew up with, and it breaks my heart how the game has been ruined. I really loved it.. have loved almost 20y now.
Some fun ones missed in the video - crash to desktop caused by stacked items in inventory, if the stacked item has an icon in inventory (as in, when you have two brooms, wands, kyber crystals, lightsabers etc. it creates an icon for the stack instead of a picture of an item). And, extrapolating from that food picker one, cause it's a lot more than just that initial report: having ANY homemade food in inventory can prevent leaving offerings at the school statue or the sprite altar. ETA: It makes me so damn sad that they're just allowed to keep doing this. I remember when wedding stories came out, and people were - rightfully - annoyed and combative about the state it was in. Yet STILL you had a certain corner of players just gushing over how pretty everything is, because they don't care if it plays. It doesn't matter to what they want out of the game. Wedding stories still doesn't work properly - but neither do dine out or bust the dust or any of the other memorably busted packs they've released. They did the right thing ONCE with spa day refresh, realized it wouldn't rake in the cash as much as just courting a specific type of player that will not care about gameplay bugs, and probably drops thousands on mobile games, so did that instead. (To clarify, I have nothing against people enjoying the game however they want to, it's just a shame because 1 - they're being ripped off and 2 - the continued financial success removes all incentive for them to fix things)
My infant is now spawning in random bushes across the world to where I constantly have to reset him in order to interact. His needs are always in the red or blue. Issues started after I updated and added the new crystal pack.
I dont allow my game to auto update and play offline at this point. I updated it right before the new patch came out because I wanted to update mods that weren't compatible with the version of the game I was playing (i hadn't updated since sometime early last year). After doing that and updating all my mods I went right back to offline mode. this has kept my game relatively stable. I never update as soon as a patch drops anymore.
This game'ss engine is just too old for the new ideas and packs/gameplay. It should be over at this point. Btw where is the TS5 news?? Why they are not hyping us,giving news, asking for ideas? So dumb of EA.
Because there is nothing to hype about.. They are still very early in developement. EA said at launch of the Sims 4 that if this game wouldn't become a financial hit, they would pull the plug for a Sims 5. They waited and waited for it to become succesful, time they could (and should) have spent making TS5. It's severely biting them in the ass now with all the competition. Karma.
It is not the engine, is the poor coding of new packs and they dont test their patch. The issue with giving food is for a wrong data type used, it should be int, but now is float. So it is a developer fault.
EA kept quiet for an entire year when they ditched the online Project Olympus and frankensteined the leftovers into the single player Sims4 (badly). Online SimCity had just failed, so in a panic they created Sims4. With 1 year left before release, EA resorted to secretive advertising so no one would know what was happening (but footage of the original online game is of course on YT). The fact EA kept quiet when an ENTIRE GAME was was being frantically reworked and released incomplete last time does not bode well for Project Rene.
It wouldn't be too old if they had paid closer attention to the older bugs. They just never fixed the older bugs, so now the newer bugs can only be fixed if they spend real time working through all of them.
I miss the old sims games. That didn’t need constant patches and updates. Just a game disc and you could play. Cc and mods offer better fixes than EA. This is unacceptable. They keep promoting packs but can’t get the game to run smoothly. It’s either an issue with the game or with the EA app. Either way it can’t be played without being an annoyance.
I heard from a news radio station about EA . They had 13,400 workers and are now laying off 5% of their work force. 670 jobs. They are scrapping development on a Star Wars 1st shooter game and will also have an impact on mobile games. On line I found the news report from Variety website. Some areas of EA are not affected, but could this also have bearing on the Sims and lack of quality testing 🤔?
Lay offs are becoming a massive problem in the gaming industry across the board. Epic recently laid off around the same percentage of workers and fortnite players are noticing a big decline in quality too. The stressful crunch times, the constant threat of losing your job, and the greediness of these CEOs are the direct cause of these low-quality products. I'm thinking theres going to be a nationwide strike for game devs similar to the writer's one if there isn't already one behind closed doors.
I tried to play today, just to find out that I cannot select any of my Sims, and since every game update they always automatically turn off mods, It was pure vanilla at the moment, so really frustrating :\
I stopped playing the sims last year…it’s unfortunate the state that it’s still in. Best of luck to them, there’s people who really enjoy playing so I am sure this is frustrating for the user 😔. Modders are so beneficial but it’s like EA just doesn’t want to make the game useable at this point .
EA might still make a lot of money from the Sims 4 but I would be surprised if that changes once the first of the competitor live sim games are out. The Sims needs good competition to put them in place.
Well, let's say, I would do it, but many wouldn't do anything, because they just simply don't care. At all. And I'm not ready to make an a** out of my mouth.
Do they have QA testers at EA at this point? I know Naughty Dog dropped a lot of QA Testers to save money. We know how greedy EA is so I don’t doubt they may have done this too.
My game has been crashing a lot since updating & origin is always crashing & not opening & staying blank. I’m a Mac user & it’s beyond frustrating to have a game you spent $100s in & can’t even play it because origin is constantly not working or the game is constantly crashing. Smh.
i am having a bug with selling fizz and seltzer drinks on the home chef hustle sale table. Before the patch I was making hundreds of dollars a sale, max charisma and juice fixing skill. Now all my juice is selling for only 50 dollars even though they are excellent/masterpieces and marked up 300%.
It crashed so many times for me that i lost my cont on how many times i had to fix both the game and the EA app, and no, the specs of my computer is certanly not the problem...
I think maybe something is going on with some game changers... I know of two who haven't made a video still on the new pack. And it came out 3 days ago...
I haven’t bought any packs since growing together. Crystal creations was one I was really looking forward to since I collect crystals and make sterling silver jewellery with gemstones in real life, but honestly with all the issues I might just be done with TS4 completely. EA just puts a bad taste in my mouth and I don’t want to give them my money. Also at this point I have no interest is supporting project Renee, and will give my money to a company that is passionate about what they put out
i haven't even played sims since the button problem but i agree, bugs need to be fixed, refreshes for pack need to be given but i don't think at this point they care because EA just wants money... it's how it's always been and how it always been which sucks for me because my favorite franchises are under them (sims, dragon age and mass effect) pack refreshes and bug fixes don't give them money but at this point if they want to keep their fan base they better do SOMETHING i've been playing sims since sims 1 (i was a kid then lol) and i've been so loyal and bought almost everything and played on a regular basis and now... even if i want to play i don't because of this mess i'll just play baldur's gate instead (a game actually saved from EA and thank god for that)
I can’t garden, I can’t tile my floor or wallpaper properly… and I haven’t played that much since the last updates. I can’t imagine all the other bugs hidden out there.
I live in Switzerland (so I guess I have a european version of The Sims 4) and I have bot been having any of these issues. Note that I haven’t bought the new pack yet. But I do still have gardening issues like the plants suddenly bugging out and not being able to weed plants. Pretty annoying…
I have the same issues. My sim dated two other sims. After asking about their preferences, they both turned out to be ace. At first I thought "cool, representation." But my sim could woohoo with both of them ( before the update, ace sims wouldn't even have the interaction ). Also gofts absolutely do not work now, which sucks for my family gameplay where I like to give my sims birthday gifts and such. What's more, sims freeze and plainly do not execute the things I line up for them ( sometimes even reseting the sims doesn't work ). Also, the university statues are broken, too. I wanted my sim to join the university magical circle. You need to sacrifice an object to one of the statues in the name of the academic success. Lo an behold, the interaction doesn't even begin working - it straight up doesn't appear as a command for the sim EA, stop milking us and start working on your game. This is too much :/
Yeah, but you still need to offer food to gain progress to next level. And I belive that to join the secret society at all you need to offer baked goods.
Yes, I was talking to that other person. Substantial part of gameplay is learning how to go around all those bugs and it's kind of ridiculous 😕. I feel like EA is making fun of us. Anyway, they really pushed me with that last update. I'm not buying more from them ever again.
I updated and bought the crystal pack but my game is so unstable now it’s virtually unplayable. At a value of over $1000, this is significant damages and I’m not kidding, I’m seriously investigating a lawsuit. They should not release software that is effectively non functional like Wedding Stories, etc.
I’ve had young adults with infant quirks. Also the traits won’t show up but it’ll show up in the mood buff area once in awhile. I had a Sim who was a wiggly infant and it stuck with her. She’s a young adult.
I used to play on Xbox. I stopped buying anything from EA after the my wedding stories disaster. I reached out multiple times to EA help and every time I did. They always blame it on me. Either i was downloading too many mods. Once again i play Xbox. I have also been told that i downloaded it wrong. And even been told i was playing it wrong. 😅
I won't be adding the crystals pack until modders have made fixes for the pack, and I won't put in the patch or the hot fix, or maybe I should call it a hot break, cause it did more breaking than fixing, I can make backup save files, so far only thing that might've been corrupted is the game forgot the name of 2 single beds in a lot, put new beds and it fixed it, then reassigned the beds to the right people.
Ever since the newest patch or whatever I've had to completely take all of my mods out and that's the only way I can even play the game! It's almost like they don't want you to use mods anymore.
I have yet to update once since this latest update. Shit, that was happening before was pissing me off; now, there are twice as many bugs? Yeah, no. I don't think I'll be buying packs in the future if they're not gonna fix anything.
I've never used mods or cc and I have a few annoying bugs since the update. 1. Apartment names reverting to the original lot name. 2. Apartments randomly being priced at over $2 billion simoleons. Even after bulldozing and re-placing the lot. 3. Menu music playing after looking at profiles in Live mode. 4. Beginning last night, my Young Adult sims having compatibility with child sims. This is by far the worst bug. At this point I refuse to buy another pack until they fix more of these bugs and don't introduce more.
I had so wanted to buy the new Crystal Creations pack as I make jewelry in real life. But due to all the issues that seem to be happening, I haven’t even turned on my computer and updated for about 2 weeks. I play vanilla and always have. But the last time that I played, I kept having to reset my Sims just to get them to pick up the infant or take a shower or harvest the harvestables instead of standing there looking stupid. Very frustrating! I’m waiting to buy until they fix some of the problems. Make the game playable!!!
I think to settle the live mode live mode argument once and for all, it would be like news not live like living or dying, as the time fast-forward system is not about whether or not your Sims are alive or dead it’s not like when you pause your Sims are dead, it’s about being paused un paused or sped up and when it’s unpaused they are still alive in alive mode lol
i'm still mad about the bug with high school years where your teens grade won't change or increase unless you send them to school ALONE. like the whole point of that pack is to go to school WITH your teen sim, avoiding a main feature of the pack is NOT a fix and it pisses me off that when i bring it up to the EA network i'm told "just send the teen to school alone! :D" like NO thats not a fix! thats a work around but its still a bug that EA won't fix and it makes me so mad!
This could be the end of the sims 4 for me.I play on console and when I was in build buy mode there was a red bar in top corner and the game lags more. School phone calls stops my sims from going to work etc. this is getting ridiculous
I don’t have cc in my game I also have the daily tasks are empty so you can’t complete things .. it is sad when you just want to enjoy your game after spending all your money you can’t even enjoy playing your game !! 😢
This happened to me, too! For me, this was actually fixed by updating all my mods and/or repairing the game :) It has at least been working fine for a while!
The fact that Modders have done so much more than EA has themselves. Why I honestly don’t know how console or no mod/cc players enjoy the Sims because if it wasn’t for CC/Mods I probably wouldn’t touch it anymore. And stick to Sims 2 and 3
Do you think they’ll fix this game? I mean.. they have no reason to do it since they make so much money from broken packs and not by fixing stuff.. 😢 Edit: I hate that I can’t change my units‘ name, it always uses the original lot name.. anyone else having this problem?
Changing the unit names has been an issue since For Rwnt dropped. I just stopped bothering because of all the other glitches and issues apartments were having at the time. Most of my current apartments run fine, but at launch renaming them led to more issues.
That retail bug isn't new for me. I am upset that it still is an issue as this is something I was planning on doing... I was going to have my single mom of 2 open a little boutique where she sold jewelry. But before crystals, I had one of my legacy family members own an Artbrary. The wife was a painter, and sold her paintings at the store. The husband was an author and sold his books at the store. Every single time I came home with the husband his invo was full of all the books he wrote so every single day when I opened the store I had to redisplay them all and mark them for sale. So annoying. The paintings all did fine, but not the books. I also have a sim that owns a knitting store. She sells all her creations along with skill books and such and I never have any issues with her stuff either so it's kind of a hit or miss bug.... I don't play with mods or cc most of the time. I'm a rotational player so occasionally I'll play with a mod for 1 family, but then I get rid of it when I'm done with that family. Haven't had any installed in months.
Smh. The Sims 5 is on the way and might be coming sooner than we thought. EA is trying to squeeze every little cent out of TS4 that they can, and clearly, they don't care about the game. With every pack, it gets worse. I think we're in our last two years....That's what it feels like Imma wait for my mods to be updated, and then I'm just officially done buying packs. At first I was okay buying them on sale but this...no
I've said it once, and I'll say it until it happens- SIMS TEAM, TAKE A WHOLE YEAR TO FIX THIS BROKEN MESS OF A GAME!!! But let's be honest, it'll need more than just one year at this point 🤭
I never thought I would do that but I stopped playing this game right after "For rent" was released. I had a few issues and major buggs that took the fun element out of it. Before I was even thinking of buying this EP but after seeing all the bugs that people were having I opted not to buy and I didn't open the game since then. I just gave up because I've lost hope. This game will stay at this stage, no matter how small fixes they do every time a new pack comes out. IT IS BROKEN for so many people. But EA cares about money, as long as there is going to be someone buying the packs - they will continue to pump them out and further brake the game. To fix all bugs it would take a lot of time and resources and I don't see this happening as something EA would do. The end for the sims 4 is getting closer.
i am an on-and-off player of the sims 4. currently on a break because of Uni. the crystal pack is right up my alley but i also know what this game is like. and it doesn't seem right to reward ea for cranking out another broken pack. i will probably wait for it to go on sale when im on uni break but EA have to cut the bs. my wedding stories should have been a lesson
My game is almost unplayable at the moment. When the weather is sunny the light flickers until you zoom right out. I don't suffer from seizures but it did give me a headache (I have been using cheats to change the weather to cloudy but it happens at night too cos of the moon and/or streetlights). Also the holidays are completed simply by putting up decorations. There are a few other small issues like 90% of my npc's becoming ghosts within minutes of loading and my lot being invaded by npc's who do not respect locked doors or computers. I have been playing The Sims since it first came out and Sims4 makes me very sad, they have ruined a wonderful game. xxx
My current save is being plagued by fires. Items will just spontaneously combust whilst my sim is sleeping or at work. I had firefighters show up and they just started dancing 😂
My spa day incense has started on fire many times recently and never did before. I dont know when this started becoming an issue since i havent updated in at least 2 weeks
I’d be curious to see if there has been a decline in players over the months/years as bugs have continued to ruin the game. Although I don’t even think that would make them fix it. It’s so unenjoyable to play at this point.
I barely play anymore bc of it, haven’t bought a pack since growing together (which I got on sale). It’s sad but I just don’t have the same love for it as I did with TS2 and 3. The depth, lore and endless enjoyable gameplay isn’t in TS4 which makes it shallow and boring after a while, this issue paired with all the bugs and them splitting 1 previous expansion into 5 different packs with somehow less depth and gameplay just puts a bad taste in my mouth and deflates my desire to play or part with my money
Shortly after the patch, I began to get the bug where if I want to select any item in my inventory to give to another Sim (as a friendly or romantic gift, food/drink to a toddler, etc.), it won't open up the selection screen and I get a Last Exception. So I have a mix of two or three of the bugs you listed as reported where I can't give gifts because, like the toddler food one mentioned, when it goes to open up my inventory, it doesn't open and I get a Last Exception I've also gotten Better Exceptions to see if I can get a breakdown on if it is any of my mods that are broken. The list of errors actually states that it can't find any of the mods I have broken that is causing the issue, and lists the probably cause to the error as "ui_dialog_picker", not a mod.
The question did anyone else have issues with the infant milestones? My infant magically lost all fine motor skills, and the game tried to restore them all simultaneously. It's weird. I stopped buying packs after growing together.
I was so stupid and bought the AP. And since the patch and hotfix, nothing has been possible. 5x crashed until I came into play for the first time afterwards and the gameplay no longer works properly. Sims that do not work on the gemstones are given the ability. Game falls constantly and mistakes over mistakes ... after an hour I gave up annoyed today. Now I really won't buy anything until things go properly.
I miss the old game where I can start by choosing to build my own "Custom" little world and towns on the menu from a list of blank lakes, seasides, deserts, etc.
It's also a problem about trying to make the game accessible across a range of different machines, and with how diverse all the save files are. You have to wonder if some bugs are only occurring in saves with an active spellcaster for example, so not even every player who owns a pack may be seeing it currently
Get to Work in my experience has always had that inventory bug, it would happen to me if I used my own stock. I made a magic shop with every spell and potion book, so I would just make what I want to get not for sale, have my sim use it and then just put it back and mark it for sale again when they were done. Then when I left the lot all the books and whatever else I used would be in my sims inventory and I'd have to set everything up again, everytime. It ALWAYS happens if I take stuff I made out of my inventory first, like honey for example. And yes, it's *always* annoying, but it was one on top a bunch of other bugs with the pack. Now, I haven't gotten on my game at all since this clusterbug began, and if already existing bugs are getting worse, that on top of a new annoying button ain't gonna make me wanna play again, ever. I've put up with this game more than I should have. It's a hyper fixation and one of the LONGEST ones I've had, so this stuff is frustrating as hell and, despite saying I wouldn't buy anymore, I did because I figured if I didn't buy everything and I could still enjoy the game, I'd get my money's worth out of it. And then shit like this happens and reminds me why that's just foolish. The only good thing I can say about it is it got me back to playing my PlayStation 3 and 2 again, and not just the sims. Lately I've been back into a PS2 game called Romance of the Three Kingdoms VII, which was one that used to be a focus for me before Sims completely took me over. I've also been getting into other games I love again like Kingdom Hearts, Crash Nitrocart, the new Balder's Gate even looks pretty cool which has me playing Dark Alliance again on PS2. Just stuff that's reminding me how good games were before most big companies got so money hungry. It's hard for me to never buy another pack, or never play it again, especially since I have nothing but the console versions and that blasted Fire Code Limiter drives me nuts, so Sims 4 is my go to for building. But I also want to be able to enjoy my game and not have to restart it constantly to fix it, I want to be able to enjoy the builds I made the way they were intended, which isn't too much to ask for I would think? I've always tried to find *something* to keep me playing this game, but... 😮💨 TL;DR - I said before I would give up the Sims, but it's a hyper fixation which makes it hard. This new cart button however, along with the bugs, is breaking me AND my game, and I'm getting back into finding other games to fill the space like everyone else. This is so irritating and disappointing.
I had a issue where one of my Sims could NOT even Talk to the other sim and they LIVED together in the SAME house hold. Then I also had my game crash on me! What is going on with the SIMS 4?! It's getting so that the game is getting to be very un-playable. Its a crying SHAME now when we Sims 4 players can harldy to NOT at ALL play Sims 4. Is the team/EA even checking thier packs as well as the updates?? HOPE they FIX this New Stuff Pack. I WAS thinking to GET it but After hearing about the issues and even MORE issues NOW? I'm very hesitant to get this New Stuff pack. This HAS to STOP! Please EA PLEASE CHECK your Updates and Packs BEFORE you SEND them out to everyone. This is NOT good at all. 👎👎👎👎 Ty for this post. Very insite full. N' lets HOPE and Prey that the EA/Sims team FIXES the issues that will hopefully resolve these NEW issues as well as others. 👍✌
I always loved the sims since the original. Sims 4 has had constant bugs, my saves getting messed up over and over again to the point I get more frustrated than enjoyment!
I feel like the sims team told ea about the problems with the game and ea was like ‘fine I’ll give you a couple more minutes as long as you put a shopping cart in live mode’
they probably need to overhaul a lot of code bc its probably the reason there are so many bugs, because Sims in general was always noodlecoded.. probably also the reason why Features are always so superficial.. imagine theyre adding complexity.. it would be so much worse.. fixing stuff doesnt generate them any money and ppl still buy everything so nothings ever gonna change apparently
The main issues here is that we keep buying new packs. So they don't care because they getting the sales. Just as mentioned as the end of this video. So in my opinion maybe if we don't buy the new packs even if they come out that will wake them up. Just a though... This could be helpfull to shake them up as they only care about is money.
Played all day yesterday and spotted two of the bugs mentioned in this video. I do not play Vanilla but I also don’t go crazy with mods. I have more custom content than anything and always keep it updated. I also updated any mods that had an update available. I’m currently experiencing the “no daily task” on careers and not showing the secret in the sims profile.
They can't even code a flashing icon correctly, competence left through the window a long time back. I'll say again that the coders working on the Sims 4 now are the C and maybe some B team members. All the big coders will be on Renee, you don't leave them behind on the older game when you have a new game in the works. I'm so glad I stopped updating a while back.
I always keep one save game as a test.. literally the sims name is Test 😂 I use this save file to test out anything on my game first and after the update my daughter helped me with my mods and my game wasn’t doing right kept freezing up so I thought maybe I have too much but after seeing what’s going on I think it’s the game. Within 5 minutes it would freeze up and could not do nothing 😢 I am at the point I almost want to go back to sims3 but there were problems I remember on that game also. Sims3 would lag so much on me or shut down and I would have to restart all over again 😢 Not sure what to do😕💔🤔
ive been having an issue of sims not leaving my home lot after i send them home. if they have access to the home, they wont leave and will stay for DAYS and if the doors are locked, they will literally stand outside for days…it’s wild and ANNOYING
I haven't noticed those listed bugs, but my house is unplayable. I can't use almost any item in the house I played just before the uptade.Thankfully other homes and my other saves are unharmed

You would think now that they have competition they would try harder, instead they are trying hard to ruin the game
Ikr
Honestly in My opinion it runs smoothly for my part
Well, the competition hasn't released yet. Of course they're milking the laziness while they can.
EA don't really care about Sims 4 anymore they only left some Dev to keep it on life support until they done with Sims 5.
I strongly suspect you’re right, which is extremely lazy because most people have at least one other pack.
This is a good theory. This is possibly what’s going on.
Would make sense, game changers (if thats what they are still called?) more often than not only have the base game + whatever the newest pack is.
i've been saying this for years and it only gets more and more apparent that this is the case with every pack release. if you need further proof, take note that whenever content creators get early access to new packs, they're only playing with THAT pack and the base game
Great point here. Ive noticed that when gamechangers receive early access, its usually just the base game paired with whatever pack they're testing. You might be on to something ...
They really just need to start with the oldest bugs and work chronologically..
I'll take 5 randoms at this point🤣🤣
I agree it’s not right to only focus on newer packs and neglect older packs.
Quiet a few packs need fixing
So house builder at least can get a fix somewhere else where there's hope (at least for now)
And the fact that it’s not only in live mode but in CAS as well makes me incredibly agitated. It’s so unnecessary
Yes a company trying to make money how dare they just play offline.
"EA is greedy"
How long have you been sitting under a rock buddy ?
At this point they need to just hire twistedmexi as a bug fixer.
Please don't hire him EA. I love TM's work but to work for EA would only ruin him.
@@canariawing Oh I see okay
@@canariawing @--pu7ke
What canariawing said above is partly what I was getting at.
@@horizonblack8351 Exactly!
@BeautyQueen2023X lol base game has bugs so 🤷🏽♀️
Sadly they don’t care about making a good game, they just want money
As a player base, we need to stop buying into these faulty DLCs. I respect everyone's right to play the game and buy the content they enjoy, but EA will not make necessary changes without firm actions from players.
Exactly! Stop buying stuff. I made a point to not engage with any new pack content. I don’t want to see it and I definitely don’t want to buy anything.
Facts!! I haven't purchased a game since wedding stories and I refuse to give my money to this franchise! I can not wait until they get real competition!
All my money has gone to buying Sims 3 and its expansions. I forgot how much I loved that game
Sims 4 is the only game where I always assume that it’s the games fault and not the mods fault when I have an issue and that’s kind of sad
The only other game I'd assume it wasn't the mods issue if something breaks is Skyrim 😂
Honestly sims 4 has been a mess since launch… it has ended the series for me
I still can’t believe how bare bones it was on release and we were fine with it !

I never “bought” TS4 until it was F2P and I’ve been playing sims games since sims 2
The game was/is, in my mind, worse than TS2 and TS3 thus not at all worth playing because it was devoid of features
I thought it was just me. Never experienced crashing until the last 3 updates!
Unbelievable to think some people pay over £1000/$1000’s for this …
It’s actually jaw dropping that they continue to push sales when their audience are screaming out..
I think it safe to say sims 4 is dead. we can only wait for the new life simulation games that will come out in a few years
we can only wait now. no point in holding into a dead game

That's true at this point! They do not care, as long as people keep purchasing, this will be the result!
@@297St4rsinJ4rs Sorry, I have no idea, I work with a different type of software

EA dont care about the game. They care about sales. Since the Sims 4 released its been this way. The base game for me was £50, buggy and didn't have pools or toddlers or even matching swatches. I cant tell you how much of a let down the sims 4 is to me.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH STOP 🛑 GIVING EA MONEY 💴 THATS THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE THEM STOP!!!
The fat dairy cow that is the sims 4 is not dry enough for them yet
Kinda makes me happy I didn't immediately buy it then, guess I will hold out till they put out some bug fixes.
I have not played Sims since August last year.... I wont be updating anytime soon.
I tried to play today, just to find out that I cannot select any of my Sims, and since every game update they always automatically turn off mods, It was pure vanilla at the moment, so really frustrating :\
One more reason I'm glad I stopped updating a while back.
The sims team really needs to hire modders to make the patches, that way the game will work right.
Exactly. Modders And Content Creators make the Sims 4 waaaay better than EA as a whole.
EA might still make a lot of money from the Sims 4 but I would be surprised if that changes once the first of the competitor live sim games are out. The Sims needs good competition to put them in place.
there is already 3 that will come in the future. so we can only wait for them to come out
there is one answer people won't do it tho, a boycot until Ea fixes 80-90% of theses issues that means spending no money and buying no packs
Well, let's say, I would do it, but many wouldn't do anything, because they just simply don't care. At all. And I'm not ready to make an a** out of my mouth.
My Sims are out of sync with their actions. They are frozen but the notifications keep going.
Smh.

I haven’t bought any packs since growing together. Crystal creations was one I was really looking forward to since I collect crystals and make sterling silver jewellery with gemstones in real life, but honestly with all the issues I might just be done with TS4 completely. Reality: "The game is bugged."
I live in Switzerland (so I guess I have a european version of The Sims 4) and I have bot been having any of these issues. Note that I haven’t bought the new pack yet. But I do still have gardening issues like the plants suddenly bugging out and not being able to weed plants. Pretty annoying…
I hawe a similar weird bug where the model for weed refuse to dissapear on some plants but they are marked as clear.
Lo an behold, the interaction doesn't even begin working - it straight up doesn't appear as a command for the sim
EA, stop milking us and start working on your game. This is too much :/
The giving bug is for the food, try removing it from the sim inventory and then give another stuff.
Yeah, but you still need to offer food to gain progress to next level. And I belive that to join the secret society at all you need to offer baked goods.
@@Kat-zx1pj I know & I tried. The interaction just doesn't work 😭
Yes, I was talking to that other person. Substantial part of gameplay is learning how to go around all those bugs and it's kind of ridiculous 😕. I feel like EA is making fun of us. Anyway, they really pushed me with that last update. I'm not buying more from them ever again.
Every single sim in my game is now listed as interested in "no one" since the update. But if you go into cas, they actually still have preferences.
I updated and bought the crystal pack but my game is so unstable now it’s virtually unplayable. At a value of over $1000, this is significant damages and I’m not kidding, I’m seriously investigating a lawsuit. They should not release software that is effectively non functional like Wedding Stories, etc.
When isnt it a mess 😒🤷🏻♀️
My child sim has infant quirks and drops to their knees and crawls around like an infant 😢 and my infant stretches and walks around 😂
I’ve had young adults with infant quirks. Also the traits won’t show up but it’ll show up in the mood buff area once in awhile. I had a Sim who was a wiggly infant and it stuck with her. She’s a young adult.
@@ahnjaehee6291😢omg I’m thinking it was gonna go away when they age up to a teen. So your saying I might have an adult acting like a baby ?? 😭🤣🤣
I won't be adding the crystals pack until modders have made fixes for the pack, and I won't put in the patch or the hot fix, or maybe I should call it a hot break, cause it did more breaking than fixing, I can make backup save files, so far only thing that might've been corrupted is the game forgot the name of 2 single beds in a lot, put new beds and it fixed it, then reassigned the beds to the right people.
just as I was about to get back into the game it becomes a significantly bigger clusterfuck than usual
if I didn't laugh I'd cry atp
Alex: "Catagory: Dumpster Fire"
Me: "What is the Sims 4?"
Cluster f---ing a dumpster fire...
That happened to me too
Same, red bar top right in build mode for some reason. Was like wtf is this?
I don’t have cc in my game I also have the daily tasks are empty so you can’t complete things .. it is sad when you just want to enjoy your game after spending all your money you can’t even enjoy playing your game !! 😢
My game keeps quitting when I enter a sims inventory
This happened to me, too! For me, this was actually fixed by updating all my mods and/or repairing the game :) It has at least been working fine for a while!
The fact that Modders have done so much more than EA has themselves. Why I honestly don’t know how console or no mod/cc players enjoy the Sims because if it wasn’t for CC/Mods I probably wouldn’t touch it anymore. And stick to Sims 2 and 3
Do you think they’ll fix this game? I mean.. they have no reason to do it since they make so much money from broken packs and not by fixing stuff.. 😢
Edit: I hate that I can’t change my units‘ name, it always uses the original lot name.. anyone else having this problem?
I think we're in our last two years....That's what it feels like
Imma wait for my mods to be updated, and then I'm just officially done buying packs. At first I was okay buying them on sale but this...no
I've said it once, and I'll say it until it happens-
SIMS TEAM, TAKE A WHOLE YEAR TO FIX THIS BROKEN MESS OF A GAME!!!
The ride. Never. Ends.
"I want to get off EA's Wild Ride."
I have been playing The Sims since it first came out and Sims4 makes me very sad, they have ruined a wonderful game. xxx
I will not give EA any more money until the fix the broken packs and bugs. Why am I paying for broken games?
My current save is being plagued by fires. Items will just spontaneously combust whilst my sim is sleeping or at work. I had firefighters show up and they just started dancing 😂
My spa day incense has started on fire many times recently and never did before. I dont know when this started becoming an issue since i havent updated in at least 2 weeks
And this is why i stopped buying packs since HSY. That was the last pack i remember buying. And i dont think I've played ts4 for at least a year or so
I’d be curious to see if there has been a decline in players over the months/years as bugs have continued to ruin the game.
Although I don’t even think that would make them fix it. It’s so unenjoyable to play at this point.
I stopped playing well over a year ago.
I actually bought Sims 1, 2, 3 & Medieval for the 1st time and they are AWESOME!!!
Yea i had all the packs and a year ago i deleted everything and downloaded the sims 2+3 and medieval
Going on my second year free of Sims 4. Started playing 2 and 3 and haven't looked back. So sad what the franchise has become.
Shortly after the patch, I began to get the bug where if I want to select any item in my inventory to give to another Sim (as a friendly or romantic gift, food/drink to a toddler, etc.), it won't open up the selection screen and I get a Last Exception. So I have a mix of two or three of the bugs you listed as reported where I can't give gifts because, like the toddler food one mentioned, when it goes to open up my inventory, it doesn't open and I get a Last Exception
I've also gotten Better Exceptions to see if I can get a breakdown on if it is any of my mods that are broken.
Yeah, this is EXACTLY what happens when you put spaghetti code on top of spaghetti code on top of spaghetti code.
Getting to a point where each copy of the game has dozens of unique bugs… may be impossible to fix. This is a major problem with excessive DLC
It's also a problem about trying to make the game accessible across a range of different machines, and with how diverse all the save files are. You have to wonder if some bugs are only occurring in saves with an active spellcaster for example, so not even every player who owns a pack may be seeing it currently
I have the empty daily tasks too! I tought it was related to the career mod I have, but apparently not.
TL;DR - I said before I would give up the Sims, but it's a hyper fixation which makes it hard.
Please EA
PLEASE CHECK your Updates and Packs
BEFORE you SEND them out to everyone.
This is NOT good at all. 👎👎👎👎
Ty for this post. Very insite full. N' lets HOPE and Prey that the EA/Sims team
FIXES the issues that will hopefully resolve these NEW issues as well as others. 👍✌
I always loved the sims since the original. Sims 4 has had constant bugs, my saves getting messed up over and over again to the point I get more frustrated than enjoyment!
Never thought that my modded Sims 3 runs much more smoothly then Sims 4 at this point. 🤣
I wonder what would happen if we all "me too" every bug report? Would that just get them all ignored, or would 💩 actually get done for once?
That teenager bug happened to me my sims got real thin out of nowhere 😂
At this point I am 100% done with the sims 4. They won't be getting anymore of my time or money unless a complete overhaul is done.
Sims3 would lag so much on me or shut down and I would have to restart all over again 😢 Not sure what to do😕💔🤔
I have a test sim too lol
ive been having an issue of sims not leaving my home lot after i send them home. if they have access to the home, they wont leave and will stay for DAYS and if the doors are locked, they will literally stand outside for days…it’s wild and ANNOYING
I bought Sims1, 2, 3 & Medieval a year ago and ditched Sims4 and I have no regrets.
Join me - I had no idea they were so much fun!🙂
I haven't noticed those listed bugs, but my house is unplayable. I can't use almost any item in the house I played just before the uptade.Thankfully other homes and my other saves are unharmed
theres also a bug on console when in build mode theres a red rectangle in the upper right corner and it wont go away until your in live mode again
