    You have done more to help me understand how to integrate diminished scale improvisation into my playing than anyone else, and I think you. I appreciate the practicing tips. I need to get at it!

    The diminished scale is one that always seems to twist my brain in knots. Not so much how they're laid out, but how and when to use. Thanks Tony for untangling some of those knots. And yes Peter does seem to move to fast, so I really appreciate the breakdown

    What an amazing teacher you are. I’m a 77 year old student so some of this lesson was above my head but I absolutely loved it. Many thanks. Old John.

    Perfect. Simply perfect. An unambiguous definition of a diminished chord and when to use which chord over a diminished scale or over dominant.
    Life doesn't much clearer than this, or more fun. Thank you Mr. Winston!

    Your the best tony. Probably there aren’t so many serious students who want to learn in today’s world. Only short TikTok attention spans that like those short npr style quick tips that the competition offers. This is way better. More cowboy shirts please

Please keep up the tutorials, people like you are such a blessing and should not be taken for granted. Imagine a world where this information must be learned thru big institutions or expensive teachers. Tony is making humanity better musicians :)

    Trying to add more to the arsenal. I fake jazz by playing blues really fast and nutty. But I know it's not jazzy.I knew the diminished scales but didn't know when to use them. Thanks for the guidance.

    Really helpful. My lessons got cut from the rona, also I think I have that exact same charlie brown book:)
    My dad challenged me to play fantasie impromptu by chopin and I finished it. I'm probably gonna try to make heart and soul sound really good to show it off whenever someone plays it.

    At 7:26 I'm really really surprised that AT THIS POINT out of all the people on planet Earth YOU didn't come up or mention or whatever that right there you should think of............A FLAT MELODIC MINOR!!!!

  • @rickbarber6758

    I'm just starting to learn about the diminished scale.
    I understand its use is over Dominant chords.
    Does that also include the ii chord, when playing ii V ?

  • @preocupatumatinal4036

    I saw videos of you and one time you start with half step , other time with whole step. Which one is more common or what is the difference of use each other.

    • @TonyWinston
      @TonyWinston  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      start with 1/2 step on a dominant 7th. Start with whole step on a diminished chord.
