One of my classic street photography itineraries in Brussels with the Fuji x100vi. It's August, it's sunny, it's holidays time and it's fuji x100vi time :) A solid walk at the end of the day with some okish shots. I hope you enjoyed it :)

Brilliant! I have lived all my life in Brussels, and know those spots, and many others, inside out. Your talent is to notice interesting people in the cityscape and capture their image in a compelling way. I often come back from my own Brussels photo strolls empty handed, frustrated by a lack of human interest subjects (I am doing ok with buildings, shapes, etc), but your video demonstrates that those human subjects exist, available for the snaps, and that it is me who fails to notice them. It is your approach that makes them interesting. I also love how you captured and synced the audio atmosphere (voices, noises) with your pics in this video.
Technically, you have a great eye for composition. I notice you crop quite often in post, which is fine, but something I do not think through enough at capture stage, as I was educated in the film ways, where the aspiration is to get the final framing perfect as you trigger the shutter. Also I see you use the back screen rather than the viewfinder, also something that is not obvious for me to do, but i think helps tremendously in the streets, as absolutely everyone looks at screens. That makes the camera photographer much less conspicuous.
Anyway, after seeing this, I'll get out there again today and try to get a few human subject keepers. Gives me hope. I think I'll follow your circuit.... ;) (did you visit the Elliot Erwitt exhibit on Grand Place?)

Great ! Thanks for the kind words but there are numerous days when I come back home empty handed as well :) . In the heart of Brussels (Grand Place, Bourse, Galleries, Central Station etc) you can photograph people without too many problems :). I do crop my photos, not all of them though. I do use the back screen for the purpose of these videos but I do use the viewfinder as well. And yes, I agree with your observations regarding the back screen and the camera being less conspicuous . How was your outing on my favourite itinerary in Brussels ? Did you get any good shots? For the weekends I advise you go (start at 10-11 in the morning) in Marolles, there are plenty of things to shoot :). I did not yet visit E.E. exhibition :). Thanks for watching ! I hope you will like the new videos coming on the channel :D ! Cheers !

That building in the background at 14:45 provided me with one of my best selling pics in 2019. The steps were crowded with Scottish football supporters in kilts and I just had a few seconds to get a quick shot - and for some unknown reason it was published for a big fee!

Captivating post, Octavian. Don’t recall you doing a “favorite spots” segment before. Theme works well. Would work even better with a map diagram of some sort - e.g., side by side or as scene dividers, if that makes sense. Route marking would be icing on the cake. You’ve probably seen similar stuff on YT vids. Viewers might be tempted to click on location icon in vid, but to no avail (or not😊).
Opening slo-mo captures everyday life so well - folks just doing their thing. Yes, have heard about August being vacation time in EU. Bun looks tasty.
Best of this group, IMO: 4 - car reflection, light capture and silhouette all in one - nice; 5 hand mystery - peeks viewer curiosity; 6 framing; and 10, eye on wall (11 version has eye too near edge of frame to be very effective; and 16, napping guy looks like he is floating on air. Mirror spot worth a retry in future - perhaps during rain.
    Cheers!
