I wondered that for a few seconds as well. Also, there appears to be no regenerator at first glance. My theory is that the two can bottoms attached to the foam move independently because the foam is compressible and the foam acts as the regenerator. I may build one of these to see if it works.

I couldn't understand HOW he can easily remove the inner part/lid by simply scratching the outside of the soda can (which is really bad, by the way, due to the excess sugar, no one reports it, because "it" advertises it...). I'm not saying he's cheating. I'm just asking how, due to my stupidity.

I get why the piston goes up but what makes it go down,
I don't think gravity is enough.
The air that gets cooled down when it expands while the pistons is going up.
