@@ConchitaCh I had not been to a rock concert since David Bowie's "Sound and Vision" in 1990! The day of Jeff's show in Vancouver a friend calls and says he's got a ticket for ELO. Holy smokes, what a night it was! .
Still a killer song!, but Jeff seems a tad tired. But, OK he's allowed his style. The amazing thing is that ELO can easily fill the 20,000+ seat Rogers Arena in 2024. Outstanding popularity.
I developed kind of cyncical attitude over the years from fan phone videos. Yours is better than most and it is neat to see Jeff Lynne rockin' out at almost 80! I still vaguely remember seeing him play "Roll Over Beethoven" on the Midnight Special in 1973! With the cell phone craze, the video market has just been flooded by poor sounding videos. I sometimes have to sit through several videos of the same concert to find the best fan video (e.g. U2 at The Sphere). Yours is by far one of the better ones I've seen recently. Thanks for sharing.
@hnklbn i appreciate your comments. We had really good seats for the show. I saw him in 2019 as well in Vancouver. Honestly, big difference in the shows. He's markedly slowed down and is now quite frail. We watched as stage helpers held each arm getting him on and off the stage, and he certainly was moving slowly and with what id say was a typical parkinsons disease shuffle. I understand fully why this will be his last tour. Anyway, I try my best when it comes to vid for the shows. I had lotsa good vids up before from various concerts, but unfortunately the copyright police where sending nasty letters so I took them all down. I won't leave this one up for too long either. Peace to you man, enjoy life
Awesome video, Stevevesteve, thank you! Love it! iI just saw them at the Seattle version and it’s really a blessing in my life to have been there and this is one of the best concerts of my life. It’s all about the music with Jeff always❤
Too funny, the reason for the glass surrounding is because "she ain't ready to rock and roll". Here's the lyrics to the song (Weit in die Ferne) (Man hört, man hört die musik) Just got back from the downtown Palais Where the music was so sweet It knocked me right back in the alley I'm ready Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm ready Whoa, whoa, whoa, I'm ready And I'm really gonna rock tonight Sweet little lady sings like a songbird And she sings the opera like you ain't never heard But she ain't ready No, no, no, she ain't ready No, no, no, she ain't ready And she ain't gonna rock and roll She's sweet on Wagner I think she'd die for Beethoven She loves the way Puccini lays down a tune And Verdi's always creeping from her room (Weit in die Ferne) (Man hört, man hört die musik) Come on, I'll show you how to sing the blues Now baby, come on over you got nothin' to lose Are you ready? Hey, hey, hey, are you ready? Ooh, ooh, ooh, are you ready? I wanna show you how to rock and roll "Now listen here, baby" She said to me "Just meet me at the opera house at quarter to three 'Cause I'm ready Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm ready Woo, hoo, hoo, I'm ready I'm gonna show you how to sing the blues" She's sweet on Wagner I think she'd die for Beethoven She loves the way Puccini lays down a tune And Verdi's always creeping from her room Oh, far, far away (Weit in die Ferne) The music is playin' (Man hört, man hört die musik) Well, we were reelin' and rockin' all through the night Yeah, we were rockin' at the opera house until the break of light And the orchestra was playin' all Chuck Berry's greatest tunes And the singers in the chorus all got off on them singin' blues And as the night grew older everybody was as one The people on the streets came runnin' in to join in song Just to hearing the opera singers singing rock and roll so pure I thought I saw the mayor there But I wasn't really sure But it's alright
What's with the flexi-glass box that singer is in, it looks ridiculous visually, this is a live show, they are not in a studio, really bad idea from the sound company doing the tour.
If Jeff were in any B grade cover band around today, and sang this poorly...he'd be sent packing! C'mon bro...the voice is a muscle, and when not used in 40 f'in years, this is what you get! Bloody awful!😂
I was at this show - I am still speechless - I have yet to return back to Earth. I think I may have been transported to another dimension.
Me too. I can’t get it out of my head 😊
You're gonna need that new time transporter!
Me too. I am still stuck in my dream come true. Can’t get it out of my head and don’t want to.💕

This sounds great for a phone recording!
Two shows in Philly ❤
I think thats to shield her mic from picking up other noise. Sorry you didn't like the audio, I thought it was pretty decent for being off my phone

Well, we were reelin' and rockin' all through the night
Yeah, we were rockin' at the opera house until the break of light
And the orchestra was playin' all Chuck Berry's greatest tunes
And the singers in the chorus all got off on them singin' blues
And as the night grew older everybody was as one
The people on the streets came runnin' in to join in song
Just to hearing the opera singers singing rock and roll so pure
I thought I saw the mayor there
But I wasn't really sure
But it's alright
Thanks for posting! Good job👍amazing concert, great show. and most of all wonderful memories.
A little more practice and this band might make it.
Did i spot Donald Trump about two thirds in with white top and red stripe sleeve ??? 😂😊
Why is that lady singer in a plastic cage?
She probably has a cold
I think it helps isolates her microphone from other sources.
Thank you.
Opera singers are loud asf, its to isolate her from the other mics
What's with the flexi-glass box that singer is in, it looks ridiculous visually, this is a live show, they are not in a studio, really bad idea from the sound company doing the tour.
At the show in Cleveland September 14, 2024 they did not use the glass surround.
If a band member has a virus they use the cage. The drummer and other male backing singer has used it.
NOTHING LIKE THE REAL ELO, IN FACT UTTER CRAP.
If Jeff were in any B grade cover band around today, and sang this poorly...he'd be sent packing! C'mon bro...the voice is a muscle, and when not used in 40 f'in years, this is what you get! Bloody awful!😂
You really are insane, he is 74 and does very well , you haven't got a clue
@@barrykemp505 Jeff Lynne was born on 30th of December 1947, he was 76 when he performed here.
This is Jeff, not a tribute act. The real deal.👍
Jeff sounded significantly better on the ~2017 tour, think hes just out of practice in this
