Welcome to the Greatest band to ever grace the stage. They were then, They are Today, And will Forever be Tomorrow!! For a true newbie I would suggest you start from the beginning Led Zeppelin 1 side one. Then listen to the album the way Jimmy produced it to be heard. The arrangement of the songs flow from one song to the next. You lose that when you skip around. What you gain by listening to the songs in order is, you will have a better understanding of the music and the meaning behind the songs. You will hear the diversity and uniqueness of how different each song is. You will better understand the growth of the band. As you go from album to album. Giving you a much more respect for just how unbelievably talented each of these guys were.. They could play anything they wanted.. And that becomes obvious After the 3rd album.. So you listen to side one and you think to yourself. Wow ever song is so different but so good. "Dazed and Confused" the last song on side one now becomes your favorite. And your thinking i cannot wait to hear side two. Side two starts off with ,"Your time is gonna come" and again a different vibe almost Folk. But uniquely LZ. And really good. As it goes into a acoustic instrumental, "Black mountian side" Jimmy's guitar playing is second to none. Then "POW" you get hit in the face with ,"Communication breakdown. And you found a new favorite song. As the record groves into,"I can't quit you babe" a bluesy rock jam that again is different than any other song you have herd. Now it becomes your favorite, for a different reason because it takes you to a time in your life you can emotionally relate to. As you sort thru your memories as the song ends, now fades into last song,"How many more times" this song takes you on a roller coaster ride.after you herd the complete album every song is a banger. Now you need to remember this is their first record it was released in 1969. This record single handedly forever changed how records would be produced, Recorded and marketed. Every band before this focused on singles and top 40 am radio play. Jimmy wasn't going to make singles he had a vision of the new FM underground radio that just started up in California. On those FM stations they would play the complete side of the album. Not just one song. So Jimmy arranged and wrote each songs would lead into or carried into the next song. So you definitely get more out of the music listening to it this way. Also at that time studios were recorded using 4 track's. Jimmy recorded with 8 tracks, making a much fuller sound with maltable over dubs. (never done before) Jimmy would record in large rooms, where the sound and acoustics were on a whole different level . Normal studios were filled with equipment small and cramped they had no acoustics and the sound was bad. He was first to strategically put mics in different locations.. using microphones on the drums and the amps. To get the fullest sound. He experimented with many effects like , Reverse Echo on vocals, Left and Right Channel fading, vocal overlays. He was always searching for new ways to change the guitar sound . Do things that nobody herd before. So he made his own effects pedals. like the Wawa pedal, and a phaser.. along with a distortion box all to give his guitar a uniquely different sound.. all of that had never been done before.. Jimmy would play his guitar with a chelo bow with a Wawa pedal.. He even used a 1930's Theraman that he modified to work with a mixing board.. all these things no one had ever herd before or recorded with prior to this first album.. when this album came out people were just blown away. Other bands were blown away.. The music was so different and ahead of its time. At the time of AM radio in the UK ,the critic's and DJ's hated them. because they didn't have single's for the top 40 radio, the DJ's and critics would promote certain bands and bring them to stardom. Making money off of their sucess. They hated that they could not take responsibility for Zeppelins success. So they did everything they could to bring them down.. That ment no air time on the radio and bad press and ratings of their shows. Oh ya and there was no social media or internet. So it took a while for word of mouth to spread if you were not being played on the radio. if the media and press didn't like you. then you didn't get into any publications or any air time on the radio. That ment Zeppelin had to playing local clubs to get the people talking about your music. And the UK just didn't get them st first. So they came to America where they would give demo records to the FM underground radio stations. Jimmy's approach was to take the band to the states because the FM underground would play the records.. the UK press and media didn't like that they would not do AM singles and bashed them with bad reviews. They were a instant success in the states playing to sold out areanas every night. Often adding 2 or 3 extra nights at each venue. Now you have to understand this that back in 69 the music industry was run by gangsters who would take advantage of the artist every way they could. The venues were in with the promoters the bands would only get 5 or 10 percent of the ticket sales bands would struggle barely having enough money for gas and food driving the tour busses across the country. And the promoters were making out like fat cats. Jimmy knew this about the buisness and he hired Peter Grant as a Manager. Peter didn't take any shit and pretty much told the promoters that the band gets 85-90 percent of the ticket sales . This paid the band what they were worth. And it was the same with the record labels. Now the band could fly into city's do the shows and fly to the next city. Finally the musicians were making money. every band that followed owes part of their success to LZ and Peter Grant. Now maybe I enlightened you about how big of a influence LZ had not only on the music industry. But new musicians that would be heavily influenced by these 4 Master musicians who raised the bar so high that their popularity and success changed every band that followed them. They Forever changed the way music was composed, recorded, produced and performed. This is why they are the greatest band of all time. Jimmy Page is a genius. Ok having said all that. So now you can't wait to hear the 2nd album because you think no way can it be as good as the first. We had to wait 6 months before we herd the second album. Waiting at your local record store to buy it bring it home than put on side one. And it's blows you away each song you hear is your new favorite song. And then they all become your favorites for one reason or another. Because each song takes you to a different place in your mind. The second album is just as good as the first. And it just keeps getting better and better. With each album the style and music changes. There are no bad Led Zeppelin songs, only timeless masterpieces
Now that’s how you bring it to the show 😎 with some fantastic insight & deep dive into an artist / album! Thx so much. In the future when we get to full album reactions Led Zeppelin 1 will be on our list !🤘🏻 🇺🇸❤️🇬🇧
I really love your show concept. As a huge Led Zeppelin fan, I enjoy your reactions and opinions. For their sadly relatively short career they were so amazing and versatile 🤘
I hope you guys get into more Zeppelin, I usually subscribe after i see three from reactors. If you really want to hear organized chaos, Achiles Last Stand is the one. Hope to see more! Anything live from Madison square gardens would be awesome 1973
It’s actually “Did you Make her”...May I suggest Since I’ve been loving you, from the 73 Garden Concert. P.S. your sound is great! Some reactors fall on their face, in that aspect. 😎

I like when TY gets it. Dad opens up more too with what he wants to say. Oh, and the drums in this song are tremendous; Bonzo!
The title is a play on the word "Jamaica" when spoken in an English accent.
Cool info thx , love the Jamaican vibe 🏝 !
The song is called 'Did You Make Her' which said fast with an English accent sounds like Jamaica.
