OMG, watching the two of you freaking out over the commode is hilarious! Kyle, do yourself a favor and get a pex shut off valve and install it close to the floor. Then get a flexible stainless water line and connect to the toilet. Presto changeo all complete real easy peesey! Hope this helps or gives you some ideas for a more finished look. Best of luck with your commode. 😊

I was going to comment virtually the same notion; but decided to read the comments to see if someone else already mentioned this. The only difference, I'd put a threaded adapter on the PEX first, then a threaded valve, then the braided stainless hose to your toilet. This gives you the adapter's fitting to put wrench on to tighten (or ever loosen) the valve, versus the potential to turn PEX joint.
I love weird. Part of the reason we moved to Austin, TX a few years ago. Keep Austin Weird! I miss Austin so much. Be weird be debt free was one of my websites motto.

The best things about this video is #1 and #2. I've watched all your recent videos but haven't commented in a few weeks. My son and I just got back from Cusco and Machu Picchu. Now I'm back in Lima. Logan was not a happy camper since I left him here for 5 days. Don't worry, I opened a bag of dog food and put newspaper all around the apartment and left the shower dripping for water and of course I left the toilet seat up. ;o)

I'm sure it's been said but cutting the water line to the desired size...then with a screwdriver pry metal clamp apart and carefully cut blue hose off fitting so you can reuse the fitting...I had a very slow leak where my metal ring was crimped on...I had to undo it from the toilet and cut that section and reused the fitting...I found the clamps and crimper as a package deal on Amazon...fairly cheap and I recommend having them always...nearly 7 years staying in RVs and I just found out about the crimping tool this year but it was my first issue with this sort of situation

Why not just cut the PEX shorter, cut off the crimp ring, and reuse the original fitting? If you could find a brass replacement that would be better but it should work.
While you had your plumbing apart, yiu couldve installed a shut off valve so if you have issues with the toilet in the future you can shut the water off to that alone. I have shut offs on all of my waterlines to each individual sink, shower, and toilet. So I can keep water on to everything except what I'm working on.
We are working on getting a water shut off valve at this time, they didn’t have any in stock at Home Depot. We definitely want to come up with a better set up 😊👍🏼 thank you so much Brian!

Great! We did not get to see it flush. A real shame! Also, once where I worked the sink clogged. The plumber ran a snake down it and pulled out coffee grounds and stuff. They said, Never put coffee grounds down a sink. They accumulate in the P trap. Best wishes! Kevin

I've watched all your recent videos but haven't commented in a few weeks. My son and I just got back from Cusco and Machu Picchu. Now I'm back in Lima. Logan was not a happy camper since I left him here for 5 days. Don't worry, I opened a bag of dog food and put newspaper all around the apartment and left the shower dripping for water and of course I left the toilet seat up. ;o)

I'm sure it's been said but cutting the water line to the desired size...then with a screwdriver pry metal clamp apart and carefully cut blue hose off fitting so you can reuse the fitting...I had a very slow leak where my metal ring was crimped on...I had to undo it from the toilet and cut that section and reused the fitting...I found the clamps and crimper as a package deal on Amazon...fairly cheap and I recommend having them always...nearly 7 years staying in RVs and I just found out about the crimping tool this year but it was my first issue with this sort of situation

Why not just cut the PEX shorter, cut off the crimp ring, and reuse the original fitting? If you could find a brass replacement that would be better but it should work.
Probably could’ve done that, but we were in a pinch. We will be redoing it here shortly anyhow 😊
While you had your plumbing apart, yiu couldve installed a shut off valve so if you have issues with the toilet in the future you can shut the water off to that alone. I have shut offs on all of my waterlines to each individual sink, shower, and toilet. So I can keep water on to everything except what I'm working on.
We are working on getting a water shut off valve at this time, they didn’t have any in stock at Home Depot. We definitely want to come up with a better set up 😊👍🏼 thank you so much Brian!

Great! We did not get to see it flush. A real shame! Also, once where I worked the sink clogged. The plumber ran a snake down it and pulled out coffee grounds and stuff. They said, Never put coffee grounds down a sink. They accumulate in the P trap.
