"X-mas" isn't taking the Christ out of Christmas because the "X" was put in place to refer to all of the other Christian masses and ceremonies that happen alongside Christmas. In other words, it's actually putting more Christ into Christmas. Merry X-Mas!!!!
Also, the Greek word for Christ begins with X, so it's more or less just using the first letter of Christmas, like if we were to abbreviate it as "C-mas"
