honestly one the most useful application for this is using it in tandem of a game like a Silent Hill where you have a map of the world modeled out with buildings and houses. The developer can't take time to design the inside of every house and room or places that they didn't expect the player to get into and they use a Genie like program to create the inside of a random home on the fly.
Creativity is going to explode, everyone will be a creator, bringing their imagination to life. This reminds me of Star Trek when a character says something like: you should try this program I made for the holodeck 😮
Corporations would love a way to create a product without paying workers AAA game companies would use this to push out games without hiring animators and programmers In fact, the user player creates the game for the company for a low-cost subscription fee and token/in game fees
So what a lot of people would want would be to have a model that could be trained with many pictures of a particular place from different angles and spots all geotagged so that the model could reconstruct the area and that we could walk through an interact with that area as if being there.
You: “Robot, please climb up there and change the lightbulb.” Robot, “ I wasn’t made for that, but let me think about that for a few seconds.” *performs batch ML in its imagined version of the room*
Wow, the truly impressive aspect of this is how realistic these AI-generated graphics look-far superior to what we have today. A game engine trained by AI instead of human-coded logic could redefine everything. Imagine a system where the AI produces seamless 4K visuals at 60fps, perfectly optimized, and responsive to both game assets and user inputs. With additional training, we could integrate rules, maps, and game logic directly into the AI's learning process, allowing it to generate not only visuals but also functional and interactive 3D worlds in real time. The input could remain the same assets we currently use, but the output would be rendered at an entirely new level, creating a fully immersive and dynamic experience. This shift would enable us to achieve video and gameplay outputs that are truly adaptable, efficient, and scalable. It's exciting to think about a future where creating and playing games becomes a seamless collaboration between humans and AI-delivering worlds that are more vibrant, detailed, and interactive than ever before
I was thinking if the mouse or the arrow keys are used to determine the next frame can’t this be incorporated into text to video? Meaning that the text prompt guide the direction of this video story.
I don't see any interaction with the physical world from the demos. It's janky and we can do much better with procedural environment generation. So far, I'm not impressed but the research is interesting.
I don't think that AI generated games can be as good as small indie games. This is an effective tool for creating a small demo, but it still needs a lot of work to become a complete game engine like unreal engine or unity.
No sh**t Sherlock. That's the equivalent of the first car ever made which was a piece of crap until years later when technology and the car industry improved. It takes time to perfect a concept.
Don't believe the hype. Go ahead, play the games. See if they are worth it. More like tech demos than games. These will be surface level, no substance, and janky. This will not replace real game development.
Of course it (will not), chatgpt didn't replace coders or scientists, it just made them more better at their tasks, this will be revolutionary in training robotics in a simulated multi task world without actual developers scratching their heads to make the perfect simulation to train their robot
Good luck running a 1000 tonne engine like Genie. Even if it's really good (the demo doesn't show it is), it won't be feasible to run on your own machine. Your hope is on cloud gaming where most of the rendering would happen on the cloud.
This is impressive on a technological level, but I wouldn't want to play this. Same way I don't want to look at ai generated art... It lacks meaning, direction and purpose.
I could see this more as added into a game engine to make it more dynamic rather than replacing the whole game engine. For example, modern warfare can utilize this within the context of the game engine to broaden the possibilities of the game
You touched upon something very important that people inherently don’t like artificial things. there’s a reason why Whole Foods is more expensive than food at 7-Eleven people crave nature in real things at least some people do😂
Yeah like Google maps, which the entire world depends on, or Gmail, or YT, or Android, or Google search even. Good dominates multiple sectors u can't say all their products are crap
Full o1 released and it is on average around 30% better over o1 preview! Which is insane!

GTA
I think a lot about NPC dialogue as well.
Really? O1 just dropped dude!
Genie 2 is the bigger deal I think 😊
So?
Horror games are about to get a lot more popular
Creativity is going to explode, everyone will be a creator, bringing their imagination to life. This reminds me of Star Trek when a character says something like: you should try this program I made for the holodeck 😮
This will be awesome in 5 years
nah way before. if it continues in this progress, based on the changes from genie 1 to 2, i think genie 4 will be an actual playable AAA game
Give it just 2 years..
More like 10

Competitors will likely emerge against GTA 6.

Finally i can play super mario bros 3d in space with ray tracing ON while shooting lasers from mario eyes

photorealistic live evolving VR with multiplayer is the goal - go anywhere , be anything, anytime, any dimension...with friends '')
I want to record dreams with ai
It looks like a dream
My Ai-Asian isekai desire will be about objective fascination & hyperphantasia. It looks like the tower of perpetual variants will be mine after all.

Even an Ai can simulate a climbing up the ladder and Bethesda even not)
As much as I revere AI… if they could slow down the progress by just several weeks… I’m almost done clawing my way into the industry.

Yeah? It's obvious

since the character keeps changing why not make the actor a real asset & the world is ai
SHOCKED
Looks like wen video generation came out wen we started to make aí videos 😅

“2 more papers down the line”
Genie please make gta 7. 1,2,3...Done
I'm loving this! Genie 2 is insane - generating 3D worlds and realistic physics from a single image. Can't wait to see what game devs do with it!
Perfect
Good Bye Game Engines 😢

ARE YA’LL JUST AS SHOCKED AS I AM???
Having a world that changes as you look away could be used to create all kinds of amazing games and experiences

you are missing the point
@@purpcont What is the point of this? Maybe I just don't see the big picture of it yet.
I get the structure part. There’s a reason why boardgames coming up box with rules and such. Otherwise this becomes like video game doodling.
I could see this more as added into a game engine to make it more dynamic rather than replacing the whole game engine. For example, modern warfare can utilize this within the context of the game engine to broaden the possibilities of the game

Like Al Jolson said; I dream of a genie with the light brown hair, I’m going to have it wipe out society and I just don’t care
Now stuff that in your bottle Maj, Anthony Nelson, because I’m also Air Force. : )
🔥❤️🔥
Woowww!!!
*google though innit, bound to be crap, all of google's products are*
