Been watching your vids for ages now so just wanted to thank you for sharing your skills. I have a small lawn based in North Manchester would be very happy for you to do my grass and video it no problem. You are the best for sure.
Special weather statement for southern Alberta. 10 to 25 cm of snow is possible by Thursday. 🇨🇦 . This is why a lawnmower lasts forever. 2 months use a year.
Second application of drainage in a bag over the weekend, ordered some field compost which is coming next week so looking forward to getting the renovation kicked off. Just need to get my hands on some of your liquids this week.
Looks brill after just 2 weeks Dan. I don’t think you’ll have many problems Friday night. We went in to defending in the last twenty mins of the game and left the stable door open! Sad but thats entertainment. Good luck. Stay well.
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpertHahaha yeah it's been far and few between. We had some lovely sunshine in Derbyshire today. I tried not to look at it too much for fear I'd scare it away 😂
Looking good again Daniel getting videos of every stage from all the different jobs is really good too. We get to see any small differences from location and conditions.
Hi Dan great videos!! I noticed that you put in another product but didn't say what it was, was that just water or wetting agent? It was in a large container behind your sprayer? Im in the process of waiting for my seed to germinate so I want to make sure I've got the right products ready for when the time comes to do it, thanks for all the informative videos.
Great video Dan. I need to get my finger out and the products down that I got from you last month. The weather has been crap in Oldham so not had chance but I’m going to give my 40 year neglected and never scarified lawn the three S treatment followed by the seed and H2Go and maybe I need to also top dress and then cover with fleece for best results and then feed a few weeks later. When tried to scarify there was so much moss coming up I ran out of daylight and had to leave it.
Hi Dan. Just ordered all of the products to cover 300m2. I assume as you said full strength that you are not diluting the product in the sprayer just adding in a little water to mix it together or am I to add water as well? Sorry. Appreciate your advice.
No you only water down the product strength if you spray over a bigger area than you have on your tank, say you put 100mls of product in to cover 50m2 but you spray 60 then you are applying a weaker solution
Have learnt a lot from watching your videos, many thanks! I’ve seen you use both Johnson’s premier pro and Barenbrug Extreme seed in the past, any comment on which is better for the best possible lawn?
I get that buddy but it's so frustrating this side of the pond not being able to get your product. Give me a shout if I can bulk buy and be your Irish hub for your Irish followers
Just sprayed all the chemicals you did. My lawn is nearly 200m2 so I put 5 litres of water plus all the chemicals and was nearly at 8 litres. I that right as says mix with 5 litres of water? Looking forward to the results anyway after I watered it in
My lawn is 2 years old but water logged over the winter . But when I tried to renovated as you suggest the scarifying revealed a huge problem . The builder had laid turf which was grown on some form of webbed netting . Result was huge chunks of turf being ripped up as the netting in the turf was dragged out . How do I solve this ?
Not sure, its grown on this so they can harvest all year round. Rolawn i think were the first users back in the mid 90s, never renovated a lawn with this issue
I’m really enjoying your channel I run a small garden maintenance business on my own in Leeds and you have inspired me to pay even more attention to my customers lawns I did a lawn renovation similar to yours today but didn’t have any fleece will it still work or should I go back and put some on ?
Thanks for another great video. Planning to scalp, scarify, overseed and topdress a small lawn in East Anglia - unloved for years, but excellent soil (not clay). Do I need to use any treatments in advance? If the soil is good, is wetting agent still needed? Thanks again!
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert OK. I've ordered yours. I'm also in two minds about fleecing. There are quite a few birds about, but not millions of them. I see you sometimes do it and sometimes not. When should you /definitely/ fleece?
Hi Dan. Another great video. Looking for some advice on compost for top dressing. Field compost cost is almost doubled with delivery to north of Scotland. I notice in older videos you use Jacks Magic. I have access to a small amount of that. Easy to get other multipurpose composts like Miracle-Gro, Westland etc. I know that field compost is finer at 4mm. I have the option of potentially sieving compost myself before using or just raking lumps out. Any recommendations or warnings for me when picking which compost to use or an I safe with most multipurpose brands? Thanks as always.
Hi Daniel, would it be worth scalping, scarifying, overseeding and top dressing with jacks magic without the aftercare prducts you use in this video? Because thats what I've done haha. Will it be an improvment or do you need the spray on aftercare products to really make an improvement? I love the channel, you have really helped me with the small business I'm trying to build, thank you.
Doing a bit of overseeding and was looking to use a top soil mix instead of the compost as i need to even out some areas. Have you used Field No5 topsoil and is this the right product to use? Bought the seed from your website so looking forward to seeing how that performs. Thanks. Neil.
Hi Dan. I scarified my lawn 3 weeks ago, over seeded it and top soiled it but now it’s starting to germinate but the old lawn is getting very long. Do you think it’s okay to restart the process again minus the scarifying because I’m not happy with the results I’m getting so far. Thanks
Thanks for all the advice Dan. I've got 400 sq m of old meadow that is mostly broadleaf grass, even when cutting short and scarifying loads down to soil the older grass keeps growing through loads faster than the new grass seed comes through. Anything that I can do or will the better newer seed eventually push out the older broadleaf? Cheers
We have a clay soil base and our lawn can get quite waterlogged. I am doing the normal process of.scarifying and aerating. Any other tips? Is lime good?
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert hey man, thanks for the reply. Enjoy your vids. I think so, discarded the box. I’ll keep an eye on it but the old grass is going to need a cut very soon.
How soon would I mow after have some germination? Unfortunately some has germinated well and some hasn’t at all so the existing patches of lawn are now really long and need a cut but I’m worried I’ll damage the new grass
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert thanks, sorry I hit a typo…..so should I hold off Mowing for now, or add product and then how long would you wait before a cut
Alright Dan. Just putting an order in on your shop. What’s happening with the sizes? Orbit, Grace etc seems to be available in 1ltr or 1ltr. I assume I want the bigger 1ltr but don’t know. What should they be? Cheers mate.
Hello, I have a question: If I perform aeration, then overseed with grass seed, followed by applying top dressing with sand and topsoil using lawn leveling rake, won't I displace the grass seeds from their positions during the leveling of the top dressing, thereby disrupting their even distribution?
Cmon you know BWFC should be in the Championship at the very least. League one was fun but only if you win promotion. Barnsley nearly beat us and spoiled the promotion party. Watch out for them.
