Moon, Mother, Creator, Protective, Care taker, Nurture, Intuitive feeling, Strength in vulnerability, Quick; Claws how quick they react but different to Aries. ☀️
After watching the full video, the thing that stuck out to me the most was the association of the child within the adult. I find cancer males don’t necessarily have a mother-like care like Cancer females can, but the Cancerean male more shows care and nurturing in a child-like way, like how a child will play pretend nurse or doctor whenever you’re feeling sick. I feel the signs from Aries to Cancer have these child-like endearing qualities in different forms. Aries has the child like care-free sense of adventure, Taurus has the child-like sense of knowing what it likes and has an appreciation and pride of its “comfort blankets”, Gemini has the child like sense of curiosity always asking the “why” of everything, and Cancer has the child like quality of showing others simplistic acts of care. It reminds me of one of my best friends who’s a cancer Sun and Venus. Anytime we go on walks, if he sees a flower, he’ll always go and pick it and when he gives it to me, he always presents it in this child-like way. Like how children see the sentimental value and beauty in the simplest of things that many of us adults take for granted, so when they present you something simple as a flower, to the receiver it’s a just a flower, but to the child or the Cancer, it’s a true gift to show they care.
I learn so much from observing the guests as living embodiments of the sign. There is such stark contrasts between each episode. I love that this podcast does so much to teach from all different learning styles and perspectives.
I already watched it when it came out on Patreon but I have to comment for the sake of Acyuta being my Astrologer Teacher, and wanting to honor this awesome man, because I have learned SO MUCH from him. Thanks to him I am able to practice Astrology in a spiritually grounded way. I can only recommend his Astrology Courses; they are awesome, and if you want to learn Hellenistic Astrology with a good foundation, with a dash of a philosophical spiritual sprinkle, you have found the right man. In any case, all 3 of you did such a great episode, It was such a joy to watch and indulge, the vibes were so good between you 3. Thanks for delivering this great content for us guys!
That’s an interesting notion about Cancer: a sign that is shy but wants to be needed by everyone. That desire to be needed by everyone obviously requires a certain amount of interaction that a shy person would steer away from.
Jupiter in Cancer in the 11th House. One of my favorite placements in my chart as I’ve always found friendships and community to bring out the generous and nurturing side of me. Positive Keywords: nurturing, protective, sensitive, heart-led, sentimental, maternal, comforting, considerate, generous, expansive. Negative Keywords: moody, passive aggressive, indirect, shelled off, “mother-knows-best” attitude, gatekeeping, smothering, eating your feelings away.
I love the dive into Cancer symbolism here. Especially the part about the rhythms that come with caring for others, especially children, and how that teaches you to really tune in and be aware of what’s going on with them, materially, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Being able to empathize, nurture, and sacrifice for others is greatly undervalued, despite how vitally significant they are. It isn’t easy to be a caregiver, and it’s a role that can feel like you must lose a part of yourself in order to help someone else shine. If we were better at valuing and respecting this part of life, collectively we would be so much better off.
I agree! I've always been a bit "hmmm..meh!" About the fact I have no planets in Cancer but I literally sacrifice myself daily for others, my children, and in my work I've looked after other people's children, as a nanny in their own homes or as a Nursery worker. I had twin babies when I was aged 17. My Midheaven is in Cancer...!!
Cancer is the voice of the body. It seeks security by holding what it is loyal to…it is loyal to memory and it views love as an act of devotion. There is no moving forward. Cancer is a cycle of sensitive moments that binds the body to time. (July 4 cancer Sun)
I will always love cancers. I had a emotionally unavailable mom so it was tough. But my father is a cancer and let me tell you, the motherly/fatherly love that I got from him growing up was so damn healing. And I found out later that my favorite aunt is a cancer, she reminded me of my father when I wasn’t with him. Crazy.
1:26:28 when you are on the inside of the relationship you are on the inside and there is a lot of loyalty coming from the ♋︎, but if you poison the well ♋︎ is done with you. When you are on the outside you are on the outside.
Living in Maine where the tides of the ocean are some of the more dramatic… this Cancerian time along with a Capricorn moon which is as close as it gets to the earth, we see dramatic differences between low and high tide. Ecologically this really cleans out in a deep way stagnant waters and the inner reaches of where rivers meet ocean and where there is brackish waters. It brings new richness with the strong reaches of currents. Tidal warnings are given this time of year. It can be ominous and change the factors for safe swimming and sailing and fishing boats…but is a necessarily upwelling and surge. As well it is the optimum time for beach combing to see what gifts are brought from the deep.
Been looking forward to this one as Acyuta is my teacher and I have Cancer rising 🌄 Calming, calm center, familiar, familial. Still working on figuring out this placement though!
Steph finally said what I was thinking: porousness. The moon’s archetype absorbs-a bowl, a container, a liquid reflection. All these are related to the blessing and curse of being penetrable, thus the boundary and shelter of a shell. This was my favorite conversation yet, y’all! So gorgeous. ♥️
Amazing to watch my teacher Acyuta on the show! I have learned such an enourmous amount from him and feel so grateful to have access to his teachings and experience. What a brilliant and deep exploration of these waters 🌊 Thank you all for this offering 🙏
Talking about the differences and similarities in the way Cancer and Scorpio defend: We Scorps "defend forward", whereas Cancers form hedgehog defenses and defend to the rear. Then Pisces come in and toss smoke and mirrors at the opposition to confuse them. I'm prior service and a Scorpio Rising, with Mars 16 deg rx in Cancer 9th House in exact opposition to Saturn 16 deg in Cap 3rd House veery loosely conj Jupiter 8 deg in Cap, Lillith at 23 deg Cancer & Part of Fortune at 4 deg Cancer in 9th House; 2nd house Sag Sun, 10h house Leo moon conj Midheaven.
I loved this podcast! It's so right on, especially when he mentioned the relationship of Cancerians and Arians. I have most of my planets in Aries. My two memorable friendships has been with Aries, my first child is a Aries, her boyfriend is a Cancer, I know some couples that are Cancer/Aries. Yes there's some sort of cosmic connection there. Thank you, love all your shows, keep up the great work!
Acyuta-Bava was the astrologer that introduced me to Helenistic and Horary Astrology! My chart ruler Mercury is in Cancer at 0". I always felt like I wear my heart on my throat. ❤️
I’ve SO enjoyed listening to Steph in all these videos/discussions she’s involved with lately and in general! She’s bad ass and executes interpretations perfectly! She’s got a gift, that’s for sure ✨☺️
I had been waiting for this episode and hoping it would come out on my birthday. And it did! 🥰🥳 although I’m only seeing it now, the next morning. This is a real gift, thank you! Cancer Sun and Venus ♋️
Acyuta being born on a cancer sun and capricorn full moon like me!!! So relatable. The dichotomy of the opposition of sun and moon on the cancer-cap axis is so unique and its cool to hear the reflections and perceptions of someone with these placements!
1:15:12 That is so funny about Acyuta and his wife - I have a lot of Aries placements and my husband has a lot of cancer placements and we have the same dynamic lol. I really think the Aries-Cancer relationship is a special one 🥰
Cancer rising & cancer moon here, it's totally my episode! I'm drowned in water signs, and I don't have any Earth and Fire in my traditional planets, so I've been struggling with that for all my life. I hope I can gain some practical tips from this episode.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. It felt like being immersed in a sea of stories in a very comforting way. Loads of thoughtful provocation and all accompanied by such a gentle, nurturing vibe between you all. Lovely. So Cancer. Thank you very much.
Great episode! So deep. I really appreciated the nuanced and specific details brought in (especially from the guests’ experiences and interests). It was also great instead of listing the keywords up front in alpha order (as in past episodes for Aries thru Gemini), that the keywords emerged organically then any remaining ones were addressed. Really natural flow! Thanks.
June and early July Cancers have more confidence, movement and openness than those towards the end of July who are more reserved, soft and steady. Like the bright or dark side of the moon; the wild ocean or the flowing river. I have seen this again and again: a different version of emotion and nurture. Cancer sun, Taurus moon
Hearing you talk about the shyness of cancer really resonated with me. I am a cancer rising with a moon in Virgo and sun in Taurus and my name is Cheyenne! Literally shy Anne and I’ve always been such a shy introvert
This was awesome! My daughter is sun conjunct mars in cancer, Scorpio moon and Pisces rising (conjunct Neptune)- so as my first cancer experience she’s taught me a lot about water placements! The only bit I would add is that her ‘sensitive,’ I see as sensory as the answer. When she is in her intuition her moods her empathy, I dilute it with swimming, sand, sculpting and maybe that’s the busy hands- etching piece because it works at helping her feel better or raise her signal. I’m loving these deep dives; I can’t wait for Leo!!! 🤟🏽😍✌🏽
I’m a Cancer sun, ascendant, and Saturn in the first. I have a daughter who is Cancer sun, Saturn, Venus in the 11th. Phew. This episode speaks my language.
Wonderful! Loved every second, a rich conversation that deepens my understanding of my ascendant & its relationships. Subscribed! Many thanks to all 3 of you!🤩
Cancer Rising here, great episode! Loved the connection to dreams and writing. I think the writing may tie into the sentimentality. It's being able to document the pieces of the past almost for a nostalgic purpose.
1:50:00 Because cancer knows that those emotions remain in the body if unmanaged, beneath the shell. If easily entered, possibly more difficult to remove. People don’t take responsibility of their individuation.
I especially likely the image of the foreshore and liminal space for Cancer--where land and water meet, a rich environment yielding surprises. No wonder Jupiter is exalted there! cf with Scorpio which I like to correlate with estuary waters, the place where fresh water meets salt water, also a vibrant environment, brackish, full of effluvium. And then there's Pisces, the deep, salty sea with all sort of creatures and currents.
I jumped on this episode bc two of my (known) favorite astrologers are here-now 3 favorites-and not because I have Cancer placements; but I’m getting so much out of this a) just as a human being with emotions, but also (I’m just realizing) b) as someone with moon on my MC. Thanks, guys. 🙏🏻🤙🏻
I am a Cancer moon there is so many things I relate too and experienced to from this conversation, I wanted to comment on coincidence, synchronicity spurious correlations whatever it is called. I have had this in every area of life and dreams, it is magic. A good example is Anthony Hopkins landed a role in a film and he was looking for the book it was based off, he had looked in many bookstores and couldn't find it. He came across the book, it was sitting on a bench. Then he was visiting the books author two years later and he told Anthony he gave the only copy he had to a friend which turned out to be the book from the bench.
I have the sun, mercury, and the ascendant in Cancer. I noticed a topic come full-lunar-circle when you talked about the moon and the body keeping records/memory and then referenced the root of the word crab is "to scratch" or "scribe" and I immediately thought of a vinyl record and how it's circular and created by scratching. Then, towards the end of the talk, records were brought up again in regard to the pleasure of listening to a familiar song or the childhood tendancy to play the same song on repeat.
As a Cancer rising, the cancer energy in this episode made me feel very understood and nurtured 😊 lots of great information. I especially loved the parts talking about history and people and ancestral remembrance and heritage, because I am an anthropology major and it just all clicked for me so well. (Sagittarius sun, pisces moon, cancer rising)
In regards to why we are intuitive?, & or psychic or both. Cancers we are ruled by the moon right, (breast and stomach) our intuition comes from our “womb” mee-wee as we are taught by an Elder at our sweat lodge ceremonies. Known for being motherly. Moms always know how to care & nurture. Most Cancers have this motherly/intuitive thing going on. A memory like an elephant I’ve been told I have too (lol). Maybe because we deal with all the emotions feeling all the moon phases as she travels through each sign. We can tell, very easily what someone is going through due to the fact, that we to go through these emotions with them. Moon & water connection… Like the water we are calm, always moving, sometimes crashing, sometimes “tsunamis “. We feel it all, even if we don’t want to. Cancers~ conduits? I love to heal, nurture, protect, love, create. I will relate with you or stay far away from you. ~Veronica ♋️☀️(Venus/Mercury) ♈️ 🌙(Chiron) 9th H ♌️ ➡️ Thank you! Loving this episode so much. 🫶🏽Veronica
Cancer is also interesting as it correlates to the IC, the 4th house, representing home and the foundation for how we start to mature in our relationships with the outside world. Its opposite is the MC, the culmination of our identity in the outside world; our life’s work or major roles or contributions made. The MC is so outward, tangible, and objective compared to the IC. We give it so much reverence and respect, and treat the IC like its lesser, an afterthought. The MC is like center stage, and the IC is everything happening back stage and behind the scenes to make the show go on. Because the MC is in the forefront, it makes sense it gets more recognition; but where are we if our foundation is weak? Toxic or in a state of chaos? It affects everything that proceeds from that point on, of course. It’s funny how we don’t respect the importance of keeping our house in order, our hearts compassionate, of caring for others, and caring for ourselves. We think it is of lesser importance than status, image, material gain, everything material and outward. And sometimes we even fear it, thinking it is equivalent to weakness. But it’s amazing how little we value, respect, or make time for the foundation of our lives when it is so evident it affects the health and well-being of everything else. It’s similar to how much society ignores the importance of mental health and strong communities, believing it to be invalid, frivolous, or even detrimental to developing strength and independence. We live with the consequences. It’s up to us to care enough to change the way we contribute to our collective well-being. As an archetype, The Mother is full of significance, but tends to be treated as lesser than in our modern world.
Love these guests and this episode! It’s one of my favorites, which is surprising because usually cancer energy is not my most compatible and/or favorite energy.
These episodes on the planets and signs are really brilliant and so very helpful for more deeply understanding the meanings. I just keep listening and relistening (natal Mercury in Pisces 🤣). I love Acyuta-bhava but didn’t know Steph. All three of you are so knowledgeable. The first thing I thought of when the video started is - “oh the two guests are both wearing Blue.” 💦 very apropos for setting the mood visually.
I like to think of the water signs thusly: Cancer relates to the ocean Scorpio is like a swampy wetland Pisces is a river teeming with fish swimming upstream to propagate (among other things floating with the current)
With sincerity that raises these people from self-importance and fanciful feelings, we note the balance of their presentation based on honest impartiality It is not possible to ignore their broad and deep cultural and cognitive level. They truly know more and understand with real depth. Their sights are sincere, their knowledge is wide, nothing like the sincerity of their souls.
Thank you. Another very good trio, Chris. It's so much fun to feel the energy differences of your guests as you move through the signs. Btw: Joan Baez is a Capricorn with Aries rising and moon in Gemini. P S. How could you not know who Garrison Keillor is? I think you'd really enjoy his shows. 👍
Jupiter rising in Cancer here... eager to learn and theorize through personal experiences. My moon in Capricorn/7th house is working hard on mediating my Saturn in Aries and Mars in Libra. Being born a few days after a total lunar eclipse in Scorpio - having a close Sun/North node-conjunction in Taurus - also really plays out in my life. Kind of lived several different lives in my lifetime.
I love the connect memory and devotion with cancer ♋️ Astrology makes my live mystical and dream like that’s definitely one of the reasons I love it the most
As a double ♋(2 out of the Big Three) plus a power point in ♋, this was the best exploration of the sign I've ever seen. I think the sign can get a bit watered-down (pun intended!) and in this capitalistic world get a bit of the short stick, interestingly in a way that women have ("Just go have some kids and bake some cookies, Cancer!"), and this deep dive really restored the power and respect to the sign. Your Cancerian guests were amazing and perfect for this. Between this and your "Moon in Astrology" vide, I've never been so proud to be a ♋! Your channel is incredible!
Hi Chris, love this series! Excellent idea to have astrologers with strong placements. Have you ever head of Claire Nakti? She's a Vedic astrologer but has a fascinating channel re: beauty and physical attributes with each of the signs. I think she'd be worth interviewing!
Chris is such a great moderator, though at sometimes I feel if he really needs people to bounce ideas off ? Not to undermine the guests, I would much like to listen to Chris give just his side of things.
OMG, I have a crazy stellium in Cancer. IC/Moon/Mercury at 6, Saturn at 10, Sun at 25. Happy to be done with Pluto in Cap. It has not been easy for us these past 15 or so years. So tired of hearing drivel about how we're so moody when it's much more complex than that. This was excellent and I appreciate the depth. ❤️
Thanks to you Chris and your guests for another great episode. I so enjoyed Steph's commentary about crabs living in the tidal environment and the Moon's effects.. It took me back to my trip to the ocean after experiencing a transformative *dark night of the soul* during the ♋ solar eclipse in July 2018. I went to the Pacific to renew myself and saw a crab undulating in the in the waves. Vivid memory. I note how I've been swayed by my emotional nature. 💙🌙
KEY WORDS - CARETAKER- for better and worse (co-dependence), HOVERING, HOMEBODY, FRIENDLY, BONDING IF THEY TRUST, NURTURING, resourceful, creative, protective.
I love Acyuta collabs!! Lmao as a fellow cancer mercury (6h) I get to experience what ppl mean when they say they don’t know where I’m going w a point. Lol w all due respect.
Such a delight! I'm cancer moon 5th house conj. Uranus & S.Node; ASC: Pisces, Sun in Sag. 10th. I am truly happy and snug like a bug in a rug - in my home with all my interests surrounding. Acyuta is my Teacher, and so grateful for Him and his School and YT teachings.
Let us know in the comments what placements you have in Cancer, or what keywords you associate with that sign!
Moon, Mother, Creator, Protective, Care taker, Nurture, Intuitive feeling, Strength in vulnerability, Quick; Claws how quick they react but different to Aries. ☀️
Mars in Cancer 🔥🦀

My only child has Cancer Rising and Capricorn sun, and I’m a Capricorn rising and
Virgo sun and have learned so much from him having this rising sign.
What do Leos have? 😂
This is so true!
Beautifully put.
This is an incredible observation
Spot On! I'm a Big Kid at times still at 54yrs♋👼🏾
I learn so much from observing the guests as living embodiments of the sign. There is such stark contrasts between each episode. I love that this podcast does so much to teach from all different learning styles and perspectives.
Fan-girling pretty hard with this combo! So glad to see Acyuta back on the show.

I enjoyed Steph as a guest. She is very articulate and has a way with words. Acyuta-bava, as always, is so knowledgeable.
That’s an interesting notion about Cancer: a sign that is shy but wants to be needed by everyone. That desire to be needed by everyone obviously requires a certain amount of interaction that a shy person would steer away from.

Apologies for not proofreading !
Love this :)
The way Steph describes things really connects with the way my mind-soul “gets” things. 🌟👍🏻
Loved the intuitive flow of this one. TY! Cancer moon conjunct Jupiter in the 9th here. Keywords: reflective, lunatic, home, big heart.
Cancer sun, cancer rising and more cancer in my chart. I relate to so much of what the three of you are discussing, I truly appreciated this.
Acyutaaaaa, you are such an inspiration, so glad to see you in Chris's channel
Been looking forward to this one as Acyuta is my teacher and I have Cancer rising 🌄 Calming, calm center, familiar, familial. Still working on figuring out this placement though!
Wow, After watching I’m feeling a lot more enlightened about this placement 🙏

Love Steph's way with words and reflection.
As a Cancer rising and Cancer moon I resonated with “indirect light” and that part of the conversation.
Thank you for another awesome video!

ohhhhhh the dance i did when i saw this in my feed. thank you chris for this series! edit: steph is INCREDIBLY thoughtful. so many a-ha moments
Love Aycuta and so happy to see him as a guest! Please Bring him back for more talks!
Acyuta-Bava was the astrologer that introduced me to Helenistic and Horary Astrology! My chart ruler Mercury is in Cancer at 0". I always felt like I wear my heart on my throat. ❤️
I love how you are doing a podcast per month it's given me time to digest each sign 🙏
It's nice to see you two guys on the same podcast. I watch you both often 👍

Are you someone with a lot of boundaries, and do you have a temper or get frustrated easily?
OMG! Chris Brennan and Acyhuta Baba in the same podcast. I am a relative newbie, having only gotten curious about astrology end of 2016.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. It felt like being immersed in a sea of stories in a very comforting way. Loads of thoughtful provocation and all accompanied by such a gentle, nurturing vibe between you all. Lovely. So Cancer. Thank you very much.

Hearing you talk about the shyness of cancer really resonated with me. I am a cancer rising with a moon in Virgo and sun in Taurus and my name is Cheyenne! Literally shy Anne and I’ve always been such a shy introvert
Every Cancerian feels that burning nauseous stomach frequently.
Eeeek soo excited for this - all three great astrologers! 🤩💛

I’m a Cancer sun, ascendant, and Saturn in the first. I have a daughter who is Cancer sun, Saturn, Venus in the 11th. Phew. This episode speaks my language.
I have a Cancer moon on my midheaven and I can remember dreams I had as a child. Especially those that had a strong emotional effect on me.
Best one so far in the series.
Thanks so much guys! Really awesome episode. Love that Acyuta was on. Love him. All of your energy flowed really well together 💙💙💙
I love Cancers 💗🪷🩵 and am happy to have my sun placed there. Beautiful energy 🌕
Love to see you and Acyuta!!!!!
Thanks!
FIRST! 😂 idk why it’s that serious, but I’m first view and first comment, I couldn’t resist! Also Cancer Sun conjunct midheaven 🌞
(Sagittarius sun, pisces moon, cancer rising)
so glad you finally had acyuta bhava das on the show!
Acyuta!!! So happy to see this! 🎉
Hi, I follow sidereal astrology but I always love your videos. Great work Chris!
I love Sidereal astrology! I tend to really relate to my Sidereal chart.
finally :)) i have the sun, moon, mercury in cancer and also a cancer rising

Thank you! Loving this episode so much.

With a 4th H Moon conj IC Scorpio I could not agree more. I have found home to be paramount.
Yay..been wanting to see this one🌝 ♋CANCER MOON and RISING
🌛🦀🌜
Yay! So excited!
Me too!
One of my placements, Uranus First House Cancer, I believe is supposed to signify 'The Third Eye.'
As a cancer rising this was great!!! Thank you all so much!
I like to think of the water signs thusly:
Cancer relates to the ocean
Scorpio is like a swampy wetland
Pisces is a river teeming with fish swimming upstream to propagate (among other things floating with the current)
With sincerity that raises these people from self-importance and fanciful feelings, we note the balance of their presentation based on honest impartiality
It is not possible to ignore their broad and deep cultural and cognitive level. They truly know more and understand with real depth. Their sights are sincere, their knowledge is wide, nothing like the sincerity of their souls.
This was so fascinating to listen to as a Cancer sun, Leo moon and Scorpio rising 😂😂 I feel like I've learned a LOT from this 🙏🏻
I’m Cancer Sun/Leo Moon as well. Wild ride! It’s like putting the parent in the backseat and the kid at the wheel. Lol
Watching this as the MC over my location in Cancer
Cancer rising @ 26degrees. Thanks for making this sensitive hardass feel seen & understood. ☺️🦀☯️
Oh my gosh this is so in depth!!!
Thank YOU all❣️
My placements in cancer;
Sun, Moon, Rising, Venus and North Node
Jupiter rising in Cancer here... eager to learn and theorize through personal experiences.
My moon in Capricorn/7th house is working hard on mediating my Saturn in Aries and Mars in Libra.
Being born a few days after a total lunar eclipse in Scorpio - having a close Sun/North node-conjunction in Taurus - also really plays out in my life. Kind of lived several different lives in my lifetime.
I am a Cancer sun, Taurus ascendant and Capricorn moon. Thanks for the episode 🙂
I love the connect memory and devotion with cancer ♋️
Astrology makes my live mystical and dream like that’s definitely one of the reasons I love it the most
Hi Chris, from Arizona. I have Cancer in the 9th with Jupiter Rx.
Have not heard mention of the breast as nurturing and food ruled by Cancer. Also of the moon signifying the People
Chris is such a great moderator, though at sometimes I feel if he really needs people to bounce ideas off ?

I love Acyuta collabs!! Lmao as a fellow cancer mercury (6h) I get to experience what ppl mean when they say they don’t know where I’m going w a point. Lol w all due respect.
Love these guests thanks!!!!!
1:43:00. Why she burnt her finger? Look to medical astrology and the houses places for 6th house energies and a transit.
