Little change of pace... Sofirn/Wurkkos are such a "gateway drug" for enthusiast lights. Inexpensive so they're very approachable; "muggle" options like onboard charging & included batteries and simple UI's while still offering such things as a variety of emitters, tints and Anduril for that next step into the enthusiast world. Plus the variety of models is gonna cover all kinds of bases - you could basically collect nothing else and have a wide variety of lights! I'm loving the rapid-fire reviews, -Cheule-! Keep 'em coming!
I picked one of these up recently for £10. I wasn’t expecting much… i was blown away when I turned it on! It’s fantastic, easy to use, type C charging, just a great little light that I keep in the car, well done Sofirn! Nice review too 👍
I've been looking for single 18650 battery flashlight for awhile found your review and straight away i ordered one. i must say i just received it today and really surprise how good it is. the brightness is very good for me and the build quality is great for this price range. Thank you very much for your video review.
Had this for a year or so! Simple and pratical! Great value light. To nitpick the c type charger cover which may come loose when using the switch as it is placed in the way. Extra care to be taken to seal up the cover properly.
Just wanted to let you know that when you have the SC 18 in lockout mode , if you press and hold the switch, moonlght mode works as long as you hold the switch. Pretty cool feature!
I recently purchased a Sofirn SP33S and a C8L. Both give me a solid thousand plus lumens for well over an hour. First one's floody and the C8L is throwy. Sofirn is great value for the price!
Really good edc light. Sofirn and Wurkkos have great offerings. Regardless if you need an edc, tactical or camping light, they've got you covered, and it won't cost you an arm and a leg.
The price is lower than I expected, given the nice beam shots. I've spent more than double on a light that has pretty much the same functionality. Thanks for the look.
@@cheule needed 2 pipe clamps with some inner tire tubing to prevent scratches..but still struggled and YES this Info is good to know.. xD these are not ment to be modded.. I dont recomment opening, it sure ruins something
good review thanks, just received my sc18 very impressed for the size another few to look at sp31 pro its awesome - c8l amazing - sp35 great and sp33v3 favorite all are amazing lights. for the money sofirn is really good lights and about any of the convoy's are great value too convoy c8 convoy sc2 plus .. oh and wurkkos fc 12 rocks
Got it a few days ago... (18$ From Aliexpress) Just became my favorite Edc light, 1800 Lumens from a 10 cm light and 95 grams, what could you wish more? 🔦🔦👍👍
Nice review, I like many of you have a large collection of lights, I myself cannot think of any of my lights that offer a electronic lock out and does not have either flashing light or power button giving indication it is in lockout mode, nothing current or mainstream anyways. 3 lumens is like a close full moon. I agree still a "moonlight"
I had a couple smaller ThruNite flashlight (if I recall correctly) that gave zero indication of lockout. Every now and then I find out and it rocks me greatly!
If you only have £20 and you need a good flashlight, buy this, it can't be beaten for the price. You can often get them for even less than £15, just order from China direct from them, delivery times have been short for me in the U.K, I think they ship them out from the local warehouse regardless where you order them from so just pay the cheaper price ordering from China. I have olights too but several of these in my house. They're really handy to have around, fit in a pocket or bag really easily, the interface is simple and there's enough lumens and versatility for most situations. Buy one!
Yes I am actually looking in to it, one of the Chinese brand that I'm comparing is Smiling shark and their SD 5028, it's a good EDC and I just don't want to spend too much money on a small light that I might lose I'd rather spend that on a bigger one for the house that's why I'm canvasing on good Chinese brands. So far I'm liking the Sofirn SC18.
lol i just recived my in the mail like 2 days ago and man i love it for the price lol the button on it so so nice lol love this light for the price for sure anyways brother god bless and keep on keepin on ill see you in the next video
I really like the simplicity of this light and I can’t find fault with it at all. I was not expecting it to hold output as well as it did. Thanks for the review!
Buddy was looking for a everyday light and sofrin was a rec since quality and price with charging to save needing a charger. Got my dad a hs40 for same reasons.
Hello, I hope you can help me with a question. Do you recommend this model for EDC? or SP35? I want to give it as a gift to a family member and I want it to be something not so complicated to use but effective.
I wish hank would start brining back the QoL features like onboard charging. I still prefer hank lights over Sofirn since you have a wider range of selection for emitters plus aux but sofirn manages to keep pricing low and still have simple features like onboard charging.
I just got my SC18 with a battery. After charging (green light indicator) it will not turn on. It has a battery and I have remove the orange safety tab on the battery. The light will turn on when in the USB charger. Anyone got advice?
Yes, absolutely! This is a complete failure, the power button is just horrible! It doesn't glow in the dark. After two years of having and using the flashlight, I still do not manage to turn it on for the first time in the dark. I keep pressing the much more prominent charging port every time. Don't get mad at them, but such a design really borders on stupid and I really hate this flashlight because of this. The SC31, on the other hand, is great.
Great review, I wasn't familiar with the Sofirn brand, looks amazing value for the performance. I am wondering what your neighbours think about you blasting the street with during your tests? I bet they are loving the extra reviews lately 😅.
Neat little inexpensive EDC. One little piece of constructive criticism for future videos. I noticed in this video that when you were switching between lights in the beam shot comparison segment, you didn't get the beam of the off screen light out of the frame and we can't get a good representation of the spill of the on screen light because of that. I hope I explained that okay and you understand what I mean. Other than that, keep up the great reviews. Oh and please don't hold this comment against me when it's giveaway time. 😁
That’s a light I could see buying wish I was a touch small so I could clip on my hat currently still running acebeam tk 16 xpg 3 1800 and occasionally lumintop edc 18 and when I know It’s gonna be a ruff day on my light I’ll just grab the 10$ wowtac a1
General thoughts....gets me how the set lumens numbers/spacing varaies so much from brand to brand...sometimes model to model. Should standardize lumen numbers e.g. for firefly, low, medium.....force flashlight makes to strive to hit the mark "lumens". Firefly should always be under 1 lumen. there should also always be a firefly mode (Fexnix lights don't have). Should alsays be "instant access to Turbo with 2-clicks". Should only have to cycle through L, M and H ....lights should meet minimum expected runtimes while maintaining max lumens or close to ...within a hundred for 1 min Or like this light only eviate by 1 lum :) ...if a light as advertised as 4k max lumens it should be able to hold that for 30 seconds minimum ...if they can make it hold longer...something to boast about on their ads...etc. If a 4k light can only hold for under 5 seconds....FAIL...cannot be called "4k"....oh well...made in China...no standardization :) Unless US company/JP companies who set up shop there...with strong QC...
I've had this light for almost 2 years. Use it nearly everyday. Still running strong. Can't beat it for the price
sofirn is always good when it comes to good lights for not a lot of money. Can always count on a sofirn

Bought my dad an sp33 v3 for Christmas and he loves it. Sofirn makes some great lights!

Love to see videos about sofirn inexpensive lights. Make this hobby a lot more accessible
That's the plan!
This little thing is rather impressive (by my standards lol), onboard USB-C charging, foolproof UI, solid turbo mode. Great video!
Thanks for watching!
what does foolproof mean ?
@@CarvosENT it means ANYONE can use it without much learning curve involved.
Love my sofirns... they are really the best bang for the buck in the flashlight world... keep up the great work 👍

Picked a few of these up from aliexpress sub $15 and they make great gifts
Just got my Sofirn SC18 as my extra to my other illumination tools/torches...6 different brands some headlamps, 90° angle, Surefire & green beam too.
That beam is so useable! Thats a perfect light to walk with during the night
I love this kind of videos because you know wath you are doing and you give for costumers a big idea about the product ..thanks

Another great video. Thanks for considering to do a giveaway. Fantastic
That driver efficiency is very respectable
I've been looking forward to this review
Seems like a great little light and another informative review👍🏼
also thansk for making these video for people like me so thanks and have a great day
Thanks, you too!
Sofirn also has magnetic tail caps available as an extra for th SC18.
I absolutely love Sofirn for the LT1 series alone, but they have so many good products.
Thanks for another great review. This looks like a good gateway light.
Great review as always!
Another great EDC option, thank you for all your work.
Sofirn has always made a very solid EDC light.
Nice EDC. Looking for something good for my son who’s a storm chaser/meteorologist. Sometimes he has to do search and rescue after a tornado hit.
love the simple ui, thanks for the video
Thank you for the always great content!
Sofirn does seem to make really good flashlights.
Thanks for the review! Can't really argue for that price
I like Sofirn lights too. They’re a great value.

Good review! You made a simple little light interesting!
Great flashlight. I have the SC18 and WK03 from Wurkkos. The same , but with different knurling.
is there a way to take off the head section of the sofirn sc18, without destroying the flashlight ? Ty

Never disappointed with sofirn
I like the SC32 for the natural light smoother transition
Bought this one right when it came out for like $11 with release coupons. Currently being used by parents since its such a good all in one package!
Damn huge steal for 11
Great little edc. Love the beam profile.
Cheap and decently powerful! Love me some good lights like these
Cool, I definitely would prefer the tail switch of the 32.

I really like wurkkos wk03 which is the same as sofirn sc 18. I had 2 wk03 I gifted. This time I just ordered 2 sc18. Hopefully I will also like these
Nice review! Great light at the price point!
Nice light for the price but I opted for more $ and less lumen for my EDC = I love my Arkfeld and thanks to you, I got them on sale at launch.
Right on
I really like the simplicity of this light and I can’t find fault with it at all. I was not expecting it to hold output as well as it did.

no brainer! Thank you!
I've still never handled a Sofirn. It looks nice.
Would recommend you grab an IF22A. Great light for sure
Hello, I hope you can help me with a question. Do you recommend this model for EDC? or SP35? I want to give it as a gift to a family member and I want it to be something not so complicated to use but effective.
Have you been inside sofirn lights lately? I've seen some poor manufacturing that isn't good and hadn't been typical from them in the past.
I have not opened one up recently. I suppose you can expect some rush from a sub $30 light.
I wish I could find something that had multiple moonlight modes. .5,1,2,5 or something along those lines
I have a small Manker EO2 . The moonlight mode has 5 settings.
ZebraLight is good about that. Check out the SC64c LE. The moonlight is selectable between 0.1 lumens and 1 lumen. Really nice.
Sofirn's simple UI is better than almost any other propitiatory UI.
It's not an EDC light but the Sofirn SD01 is also a cool offering and has a great UI with the magnetic control ring.
It’s a very nice drive light. A backup dive light to be specific. But for others reading our comments, it’s overbuilt to withstand pressure,
A nice little light. Maybe I should get one
Which is better this or the SC32?
I prefer the SC32, but it’s mostly personal choice.
@@cheule What are the main differences?
I couldn't choose so I bought both the 18 and 32. Xmas present for ME.

The SC32 is so much better,
I bought 2 of the SC18 for like, $12 apiece. But it's so impossible to find the on button in a pinch.
I totally can see that.

Actually it could be much better flashlight with steppless diming or at least some extra mode between ultra low and low, let's say 20-40 lumens.
I sometimes like dimming, sometimes modes!

Love your reviews, but dude, use yards, not meters😂
Sorry! Ex-science teacher here. SI units all the way :). For what it’s worth though, a meter is roughly analogous to a yard.
