Some random notes since you're not familiar with the game:
2:40 The developers of the game are Coffee Stain. The sponsors here are merchandise partners selling merch based off the game, they've provided all the props for the video. You might catch this at the sign-off bit, apologies if you do, I'm just noting these down as I go.
2:50 Fun fact: The lizard doggo wasn't originally called a lizard doggo. Fans called it that and it just kind of stuck, eventually being adopted by the devs.
4:45 That conveyor belt whirlwind is used as one of the promotional screenshots in game stores. The devs also use Josh's map as a benchmark when optimizing the game. That man is pure chaos.
5:40 The AWESOME shop is part of the base game, and has been around since Update 3 in early 2020. It's the best store on the planet. (It's also the only store on the planet.)
6:48 This scene is actually from the official Update 6 trailer.
9:02 The Lizard Doggos, once tamed, can bring you random items occasionally.
11:15 *Technically* this is only accurate prior to the latest major update. Update 6 removed the Alien Carapace item, which was dropped by boars and hatchers. As of Update 6 you get creature specific remains, which can be processed into Alien Protein, which can then be processed into Biofuel.
15:10 There are alien artifacts in this game that, if you stand near them for too long, will start telepathically sending messages to you trying to compel you to harvest them. The voice you hear is the same as the AI which gives you direction, except distorted. You can hear that same voice layered over Stupes' voice here.
16:38 One of the items the lizard doggos can bring you is a barrel of nuclear waste, and it can end as poorly as it did for Stupes if you're not careful.
18:00 You did, in fact, notice.
Another neat detail it's easy to miss in the song, in the Beat Optimized Lyric Transcription System (BOLTS) there are Chorus and Spoken Interlude indicators that light up at appropriate times. It's a fun visual that I missed on my first watchthrough. Stupes has great attention to detail.
I do enjoy your reactions to Stupendium's videos, a lot of the wordplay tends to go over other people's heads.

It was surreal to get the version of this song from _The Stupendium - Topic_ on my home page when I woke up, and then have to wait for hours to see the actual music video.

I'm not completely sure, but I think it happened with the Find the Keys remaster, as well. That might have just been for Spotify, though.
You know, Josh is a great quality assurance person since he goes above and beyond with how much he does, and since he posts his videos, devs are able to see what the current limits are of their game.
Also, his conveyor tornado is one of the promotional images on store pages.
The Awesome Shop had been a thing for a year I think. And those replicas look amazing but they are NOT CHEAP.
I loved the Orson Wells line when I first listened to the song, and your immediate reaction to it was perfect XD pretty much what I did too, it's so clever.
The beat of this song is a good one for me, very "head boppy"

"One giant deal" could also mean that that thing expensive as hell
People thinking the War of the Worlds radio play was real has actually been heavily overblown, if it happened at all - the broadcast wasn't actually that popular, so the numbers of people newspapers claimed were freaking out about it didn't line up with actual audience numbers. What actually happened was probably that Newspaper companies, hoping to avoid losing advertisers to their new competitors in the radio industry, either fabricated or overstated reports of people mistaking the broadcasts for reality in an effort to make radio look bad (come to think about it, old media companies overstating scandals associated with a certain new form of media in the possible hopes of scaring advertisers away from their competitors sounds eerily familiar as a modern day TH-cam viewer...).
Also, the broadcast did have several references to the fact it was a play, to further reduce the likelihood of the story being accurate. It was like every 10 minutes or something there was a ad read, from memory.
I love seeing the relationship that Ian and Stupendium have inside and outsdie of videos as Cameos, Name drops, Tweets, Comments, etc. Great reaction as usual and I would liek to reccomend you to watch The Chalkeaters song, 'Rise Guys'.
When Stupes uploaded this I was like, I can't wait to see Ian's reaction! I caught on to the ores n' wells (Orson Welles) pun the first time watching and hoped that you would notice it too. Not only did I miss the Citizen Kane reference, but I also missed the War of the Worlds connection! Well played Stupes! Thanks for another great reaction! Now I need to go watch the first Awesome shop video, because it was made before I was a fan.

It's nice that you mentioned Let's Game It Out at the start, because his actions are referenced here. Who loaded up a bunch of lizard doggos with nuclear waste and then launched them off the map to get rid of all those barrels? To the point the devs coded it in the game that they could bring you them? I was howling with laughter when I saw how the song ended. Great reaction to yet another banger from Stupes.
14:30 The radio play is sort of a myth. I can't remember where I heard it, but not that many people thought that aliens were invading, and for those who did, the conundrum lasted only a short while as the play got into the actual acting 30 minutes after start.

I just want to point out how I love the trailers Coffee Stain do. Not only does Stupes' video contain their own visual and lyrical puns, it's also full of references they may not have even intended.
Like in 15:43 the climbing up a ladder. Not sure if intentional but it does look really similar to the ladder climb in Metal Gear Solid 3. ^^'
A fun little visual gag is the mechanical bar showing the lyrics at the bottom of the screen has a little diode labelled “Chorus”, that lights up during the chorus
stupes: gladly rhyming a word with *itself* without it being a copout.
Edit: firstly, i love the orson welles jokes. so much depth in three lines. second: actually! i watched a video about fabricated stories such as the first radioplay of war of the worlds that- since is was during the post WW2-cold war era, and that people flicking through radios wouldnt hear that they did in fact mention it was a radioplay, there was a (much more minor than now believed) hysteria about the alien attacks.
The hook reminds me a lot of their Fall Guys song.

The devs of the game is Coffee Stain Studios, who also brought us Goat Simulator. It's crazy how different the two titles are. One utter garbage, then we have the masterpiece that is Satisfactory.

@@MiudmonDice I understand some folks might be disappointed, but this show is primarily comedy music focused, and reacting to serious songs on it, for me, breaks that convention. I don't have as much to say/react to with a serious song, and the hook here is that I'm reacting from a place I know and relate with: comedy. That said, the demand for them to be done as an exclusive was high enough, so that's why they're there. To have me do something outside the norm of the show, I needed incentive, and making them for my Patreon patrons was it. Sorry if you feel excluded that way, but I'm trying to keep the show focused.

@@Insaneian you are welcome, it was genuine advice, you say Um every other sentence, and tend to pause on what you are saying, but hey man, if 15k subs is enough for you and you are content with yourself, thats fine also, I wasnt trying to be rude, it was genuine advice from someone who found your channel and wanted to help you improve. there is a reason people like scruface jean and other reactors pull 50k+ views a video, and you are right im not subscribed because the videos of yours i watched, while enjoyable, didnt really draw me in precisely because of how much you rambled, to give you an example of a good reaction of yours, look at your no waves like home reaction, where you spoke with confidence and knowledge about the things that was said in the song, and even expanded on the content by giving a more indepth explanation of what it was he was talking about at points, the point of a reaction channel is to be that "friend on the couch who explains everything he watches and has cool reactions to the content. in this particular reaction you mostly just stated the obvious and never really expanded on anything, probably because you didnt know a thing about the game or content that was convered, something you did do well in this video that i liked was your explanation of the ores n wells bars, you clearly know the reference and explained it for those who might not have gotten it, and it wasnt one of those more blatant bars along with the fact that you even talked about the movies and the war of the worlds radio broadcast. like i said you have potential to actually be able to do this as a career choice, but it takes work and learning. regardless you can get defensive if you want, it was honest criticism and i wasnt trying to be malicious but some people do tend to be insecure about things and get defensive when anything other than praise is directed at them. good day

See, it seems as tho you're conflating lack of knowledge with lack of confidence. I know I don't know much about the game the song is based on...I say as much in the opening of this very reaction. That doesn't mean I'm not confident when I speak. Nor does my bad habit of saying "uh" every so often...some people just use that to fil space while they think of words, doesn't mean they lack confidence.
I'm not trying to be Scru. I'm not that kind of reactor, I don't need to jump around the room and shout about everything. I give analysis based on my knowledge of comedy music and joke Construction. It's niche, but that's what folks come to me for. Telling someone who does reactions what reactions are supposed to be isn't the "advice" you think it is.
