Nice little video. The frame rate does drop once the tile containing Preston is loaded but that can be expected. I heard a more current version of this route is in the mix, so will be able to drive Pendolinos on it as in real life!
Can I just say how weird it is to see your home station and line in train simulator! So glad it exists! Been waiting for years XD It's also not too bad in accuracy. Well driven!
I'd love to see the Blackpool south branch in this game. hopefully they re-create the old Colne to Blackpool South route so it'll stop at my local station Church and Oswaldtwistle
Would be good to see the full route of this via Halifax, Bradford & Leeds through to York, as my hometown is Garforth which is inbetween leeds and York
The only problem is the entire Liverpool to Nottingham/Norwich route isn’t featured in Train Simulator. The only parts of the route we have is the section between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester, Grantham and Peterborough plus Norwich from the Whirrey Lines.
Very familiar with this unit because it was or is still used by South Western Railway i.e London Waterloo to Exeter via Salisbury. Yes, the Blackpool line I believe has been electrified in anticipation of a new open access route. Blackpool will have a route to the capital as it did in Intercity days that ended I think as late as 2002. Preston is more or less the midway point between London Euston and Glasgow Central.
I’m still looking forward to the time when you’re able to create a route learning video from (for example, Exeter) to Penzance. I’ve travelled that route in real life. It is a really scenic route with both land and sea views. Otherwise, good video well done 😉
Just a heads-up in case it wasn't brought to your attention. Northern Lines is now over with On Track Simulation, and is linked at www.ontracksimulation.com/northernlines.html if you want to update the link in your description. You can also find Northern Lines Electric if you want to try it for a future route learning video. It's at www.ontracksimulation.com/northernlineselectric.html Other ideas on there - and apologies if you've done any of these, I'll see them eventually if so - include the Harrogate Loop and the Fen Line. Other projects like the Railways of Devon and Cornwall are over there as well as at Vulcan Productions. The BHBP would be a great long-distance route project, and covers both Western Main Lines extensions to Penzance, in addition to the path to Axminster. The branch to Exmouth - a video I'm about to watch after sending this comment, coincidentally - is also in that project. You'll find DPS's Barnstaple extension also merged into the huge network, and I think the network goes northeast as far as Reading. Oh, and yes, Northern Lines is still being extended. I don't think it's out yet.
You can do St Pancras to Bedford and Leicester to Nottingham but I'm not aware that the section of the Midland Main Line between Bedford and Leicester has been modelled yet. Personally, I'd like to see the Robin Hood Line through Mansfield.
@@PTGRail You mentioned the London Liverpool Street-Norwich route. Been on the main line a few times in the last fifteen years, the most recent was during the summer of 2015. I have enjoyed your videos and description of the type of trains in service at the moment. The current intercity and suburban trains will be replaced by newer ones within the next eighteen months, that is the whole East Anglia routes like Lowestoft, Norwich and Great Yarmouth, Norfolk's main seaside resort.
@@PTGRail A couple of suggestions. Cambridge to Kings Lynn section, part of the main London to Kings Lynn via Cambridge route and York to Sunderland via Hartlepool, part of the Grand Central 'North Eastern' route between London Kings Cross and Sunderland. Any plans for those on Simulator?
My understanding of passing a signal at danger also requires the driver to sound the horn on passing the signal in question. I may be wrong however! Also, does anyone know if the (yellow) signal button on the GSMR system is functional on this EP?
Hi PTG do you have any idea why Birmingham is not in train simulator? They seem to add Manchester to Liverpool, London and many other cities but non in Birmingham :(
Two years later and you're spoilt for choice! West Coast Main Line: Euston to New Street, the Cross City line and (my favourite) Chiltern Mainline: Marylebone to Snow Hill.
ECML125 yes I do appreciate it in fact I appreciate all of ptg’s videos but it is always good when you do a route learning on the newest products for train sim
I love northern so much I would love to be a driver for northern when am older
Jacksss Taylor same
Always good to get some 158 action great vid 👍

Same here, I would love that too, but 3 years later and they still haven’t done it!
they added the Blackpool branches in TSW4
Would be good to see the full route of this via Halifax, Bradford & Leeds through to York, as my hometown is Garforth which is inbetween leeds and York
I got a visit Blackpool ad before the vid
Would be cool to see you do a long route again, may i suggest the liverpool lime street to Norwich route ;) lol
Very good route!

Lol the train was slowly moving towards the barrier at blackpool

Great video, maybe do a route learning for the 1869 Sherman hill route from RWA.

They really need to make Preston to Blackpool South.
Thanks for another great video Peter. Do you have any plans for a tutorial teaching scenario creation? That would be great if you did :)

Ah yes, been from skipton to Blackpool north and back, I love the northern rail trains
please do an updated version of the severn beach branch line.
Another great vid could you do a class 170 scotrail on harrogate loop as they run on there now
The actual run starts at 06:00 after the cab set-up demo.
I think you should do the Luxembourg to Bruxelles train route (if it ever exists)
Could you do a train guide on the BR Class 43 HST. That will be a great one to cover as it is a iconic High Speed Train.
3 uploads in 2 days?! What is this?! But I like it!
Did u do a video of the route from London Waterloo to Portsmouth harber
He has done a video in a 455 From Hampton Court To London Waterloo

Prefect stopping place at Preston
For stopping at preston, back end of train at front of footbridge.
Class 158 really helps northern rail
I much prefer class 142 myself.
I was wondering if you will do the Southend line, London Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness via Southend's Central station.
I would love to if it existed in the game. Unfortunately, it doesn't at present.

What about a Video in Austria or on the WCML south V5 ?
Can you do a run in a class 155? Don’t know if they are mods for it but doing a 155 on the Calder valley would be amazing
Is there no Blackpool tower in this sim? Shame if there isn't!
is there any more scotrail routes you could cover ??
btw no doors closing warning signal before departing, can you walk through the train? can you go outside and wander around the huge map(gta style)?
I love train too

Anthony Simkins it is not functional unfortunately
