I remember when the mystery minis first came out they were like $5-$6. It was so much easier to drop a bit on a few boxes. Almost $10 per box hurts my temptation to splurge on any theme of mystery minis now
It’s rough. The fact they’re price halfway to a modern marvel legend is crazy. Why take a chance on a $10 figure when you can get a high quality one for $20 that isn’t blind boxed? These are selling well because there’s a lack of Shrek toys. But if we ever got modern 6” Shrek figures I guarantee these wouldn’t be as popular.
The Mystery Minis are my favorite Funko line. The blind box distribution of them? Grrr The Looney Tunes/Hanna Barbera characters were tough and I still don't have my favorite characters from that line. The My Little Pony FIM was the easiest for me to obtain , if only if because I wanted most of them already. Probably only want Dragon from this Shrek line and definitely going the eBay route for her.
I remember the Disney Afternoon line was also tough to get. These seem to be pretty plentiful at Hot Topic right now, but those drop rates being so ridiculous make this line an easy ebay purchase lol.
The long list of Funko’s “next big thing”….who remembers Rock Candy, “Vynl” or even ReAction? (Pre Super 7) I assume they just dug this one up for Shrek. It had been a few years since the last wave of these. Very odd indeed!
The only good thing about these things. Is that kids will at least have these as they’re shrek figures. All I had was a small shrek plush from a car boot (yard sale for you Americans)
I believe this is the ONLY Fairy Godmother figure released in the US. Canada and Europe got some decent PVC figures but they’re very rare. Crazy how the main villain of the film is so unrepresented in toys.
Funko is nuts with that drop rate. I thank the aftermarket for already flooding the market with these and lowering the prices. I mean this is pretty much gambling for toy collectors. Very questionably unethical.
"For 10 dollars you're probably just going to get a bunch of donkeys" is a great sentence 😂

I love they made Rumpelstiltskin from Shrek Forever After. As you said, very underrated movie

Got a few these in-store and thankfully no dupes. I wanted Dragon the most and she was easy because she is crazy heavy.
Great tip!
I didn't even know that mystery minis were still a thing, I assumed they disapeared with the Funko Dorbz or the funko cereal boxes

I love Kitty Soft paws too

@@fireflowerfilms2010 Shrek has had practically no toy aisle presence since 2007. I feel for the kids of today!
@@austin_the_brimstoneI had that one plush.
And last year I found a donkey that was his size so he ain’t lonely anymore.
you're just gonna casually show that rankin bass collection??? would love a tour of it in a future video
I love Rankin Bass! One of my passions. I’ll definitely talk about those figures. Playing Mantis made an amazing line up of toys in the early 2000s.
i think we are lacking Fairy Godmother merch since forever so i’m loving these

You from Rhode Island?
You should buy the rest of the set!
