As a truck driver I can tell you that most store brand things come out of the same factories and batches as name brand. This doesn't apply to everything, but to a large majority, especially meds
I worked in a dairy distribution plant....the same applies to milk. It all comes from the same farms and different brands/generic are all filled from the same tank on the same line, all they do is change the label. Always buy the cheapest, its all the same. Quick tip: At the end of the time stamp you'll see a number 1, 2 or 3 designating the shift it was filled on. Try to pick 1st shift if you can, that's when all the supervisors and inspectors are present so everyone is much stricter about following protocol.
@@claritey I didn't know that about the shift stamp! Thanks for the tip! I'm pretty picky about dairy, so that's good to know 😄 Honestly I don't know too much about the production side of things, just the distribution and warehouse. I know I deliver the same ingredients to the plants, and pick up the exact same products, just with different labels. If anything is damaged in transport (or by a fork lift), it usually gets put back on my truck and from there either I get to keep it, or I take it to a food bank or shelter, depending on the product, area, laws, etc. I've ended up with a year's worth of cereal and organic apple juice before lmao (gave most of that stuff to my neighbors who had little kids and were going through a tough time financially)
I agree with the meds and I know that the foods are often made in the same factory. However, my mom worked for Forgotten Harvest and sometimes they prepared foods slightly differently depending on how they were being sold (or given away in some cases). I'm not sure they did it for everything, and Forgotten Harvest isn't exactly the same as a traditional food plant, but I thought that was interesting. The small difference would make or break the finished product, but many times you can't tell the difference.
