God doesn’t need anyone or anything- He is complete within Himself, but He bestows on His children His gifts and callings so He can work in us to continue His mission until Jesus returns.

If you see the enemy coming and don't sound the alarm, the sinner will die in their sin, but their blood will I require at your hand. That means, He needs you to sound the alarm. He's made sounding the alarm your responsibility. That's a necessity. Because He goes on to say if you do sound the alarm, and they don't head it and die in their sin, you have delivered your soul. Again that implies your involvement is necessary.
