That's why I always said, what Metal Slug 1 is best Metal Slug. Most of things like this was in Metal Slug 2, but game engine wasn't able to handle all of this, so they cutted a lot of details. Hell, what about Waterfall in mission 1, where you could see rainbow at right angle?
Ah yes. I'm well aware of that Metal Slug 2/X have lots of unused graphics and beta elements and concept arts about NPCs and Items which could've made the game more detailed just like the first one was. Also, looks like I just forgot to mention about that rainbow from waterfall! Even tho it only appeared in 1P Ending, it's still a nice little detail.
About boulder trap - same will happens, if Bull-Chan will fall on top of SV-001. Also, I don't know how to trigger that, but if you will die during fight with Tani Oh - after pressing "continue" you could get Rocket Launcher instead of Heavy Machine Gun. Allen O'Neil AI is one of the smartest AI I've ever seen. Also, funny to notice, how Morden bazooka has limited angle due shooting from right shoulder - he can't aim at left on aircrafts, instead of rocketeer soldier on HBR. Aaaaand thanks for making that video. I never noticed those UFOs there.
I found it happens on normal player when they're invincible. The funny thing is that rocketeer from HBR can't face the other way while in MS3 he can. Probably because this rocketeer was supposed to be only on that big barricade in Mission 5, not HBR. Mind you, that whole section from Mission 2 WAS NOT planned in early footage until they decided to change main character from SV-001 to Marco and Tarma.
Played with a friend today in MS1. Noticed, what Allen ALWAYS attacks most dangerous player - who had more grenates and/or extra weapon. So if you picked up HMG before fight with him - prepare to evade a LOT.
So, Rebel Soldiers can take the cannon in the gut twice in the row, while climbing on the Metal Slug. Yet they're dying from the pistol shots. I wish, that the early version of the game could be released as a prototype, which considering from the screenshots, the game was most likely finished before Marco and Tarma were added.
...Holy hell. The attention to detail is just amazing here. So much effort, put into a game that most people would just rush through to beat it. Kind of sad, really...

Totally agreed! One cannot simply produce this kind of beautiful piece around the 90s when creating a game can take more efforts and lifetime than nowadays. With 'Metal Slug: The Ultimate History' published by Bitmap Books, certificated by SNK Playmore last year, interviews from several original developers worked on MS1 to 3 made it clear that they poured more love to their own game than fans did! If you're interested in the overall history of Metal Slug, along with detailed info on developers, you may consider keeping the book of your own from Bitmap Books : www.bitmapbooks.co.uk/products/metal-slug-the-ultimate-history
this is why metal slug 1 is like my 1st or second favorite of the franchise. In the og game you really felt like a Rambo, destroying everything in your path. The other games were harder and kinda deviated from that feeling. Doesn't mean they're bad tho. Metal slug gotta be one of the best series I've ever played
Its almost like with every game, Metal Slug progressively became more and more Japanese. until they fully embrace their Japanese game nature, and like most other companies *_decide to never release another good game._*
It really was sad to see what had become of it with the fourth game, especially after what we got with three. I'd argue that three was the highpoint, at least in terms of length and total gameplay. 4 was a clear step down, and 5 was totally wasted potential. I would love to see what the dev's original vision for MS5 was, before it got booted out the door early.
I wonder if did you Noticed in Mission 4 and 6 depending of what path you take certain Enemies will appear. Also it seems interesting that the Early POW Soldier actually joins you in Battle.
Of course I did. I thought it would be better to exclude that one since it's kinda easy to notice. and it is interesting indeed that there were allies fighting alongside with players. Here's what I've learned from Missing in Action about POW soldiers : Normally, they are coloured blue, but change colour when rescued - white for player 1, gold for player 2 - and assist the Slug. In this case, they roam alongside and automatically attack targets with grenades or knife attacks. Only two ally soldiers would be present at a time, but anymore you rescued would be kept as 'stock' on the bottom of the screen. When an ally dies, another soldier would enter the scene to replace them. Whatever stock you had at the end of the level would be added as bonus points.
And i also noticed those POW Soldiers can control those Beta Turrets in the Tetsuki Battle. Why the Beta Versions look more interesting than the Final Game???
The Aliens have been watching since the beginning!!😱 Also I'm new the series and so far I'm absolutely loving it. Just got the the anthology collection on PS4 and it's a blast!

Its sad to see what metal slug became nowadays
Just a waifu mashup mobile game (MSA if you dont understand) atleast the ost is fine
Also i can't trigger the blown away death in any other way except on mission 3
Am i doing something wrong? Or it just happens at random?
Probabilities is extremely low with blown away death so you'll have to kill a hundred soldiers with only specific attack introduced in the video.
...tho I don't think it's worth of time doing so unless you really want to see them die like that.
Hey, how can I contact you?
Contact me?
Yes I can talk to you
Why wont player die, i know you use a hack
Hack? More like developer mode that devs of this game used when they were testing their game lol
