- On this Video I share the common issue that is known to damage or burn 3rd.clutch on a U140-E Transmission of a Toyota RAV-4 vahicle.
Lets go to the TSB's
T-SB-0156-10 REV2
And it aplies to 2001 to 2003 RAV4 Only.

REALLY NEED YOUR HELP! I have the same U241E on a 2002 Rav4. Changed the ECU, then opened up trans and found direct drum shredded. I replaced the drum and clutch, steels, etc. all is spinning, but when I drive it. I am still missing reverse and no 3rd/4th. So I check fluid pressure on the direct drum test port on the back cover. No fluid pressure. I blow shop air in the test port and reverse engages. So something is clogging the fluid pressure. Do you know what controls this fluid pressure and how to fix. Any help would be appreciate. Thanks
Hi Hiram!! I get a 2012 toyota corolla that uses the same transmission and i have a problem when shifting to 3rd gear. its like the role power go's away. sleeps totaly and then the engine ravs up for about 2 seconds, then starts to go again with a big clunck of course. feels normal in all the other gears exept for reverse that also sleeps. do you think you can help me? thanks.

Hallo . I have one on my Toyota Previa/Estima 2002: Leaking olie from the converter or oile pump Gasket. I have replase both, but olie still leaking. Can the olie pressure from the pump be the problem ? Regards

My 2002 RAV4 is not shifting at all any more. Not catching any gears. The ECU was replaced in May of 2013. Is it possible I need another computer? And that clutch pack...is it for all gears?
I got an 05 Rav4 that runs good but won't shift to fourth
gear. I got a code p0766 and changed the s4 solenoid. I also paid to
repair my ecu but still not luck on fourth gear. The fluid is dark and
there were some metal shavings in the pan. Do you think it's time for a tranny replacement?
How did you solve your problem? I have same problem with my 04 Rav4

@@eltpg my nightmare because of the cost of rebuild or replacement. I love my Rav4. I don't know what to do now 😕
Mine doesn't shift past first gear and no reverse. I have code P0713. Trans Fluid not burnt as yet. I'm yet to drop pan. Only did a Fluid change and didn't see any other changes in Fluid quality

Hola Hiram, Admiro tu trabajo y gracias a tus videos he arreglado algunas transmisiones para uso personal, tengo una 2004 toyota sienna xle con transmision U151E la cual hace cambio brusco de primera a segunda y segunda a tercera. No hay codigo de falla. Si me pudieras orientar acerca de las posibles causas o si pudieras subir un video completo de la reconstruccion te agradeceria mucho. Adelante con tu excelente trabajo.
+Gerson Arellanos creo que sería necesario una limpieza al cuerpo de válvulas y eso te llevaría más cerca de la solución. Gracias
Coco Loco. Buenas tardes. Vi tu comentario de hace 4 anos respecto a tu van sienna y el problema. Encontre este video y lo mas cercano al problema de mi van sienna exactamente como tu van. Me gustaria saber si tu encontraste la solucion por que tengo mi van estacionada por un año sin encontrar la solución. Ya cambié selenoides, sensores, la destaparon y reconstruyeron y el problema persiste. Me han comentado que puede ser problema electrico....no se. Te agradecería si pudieras decirme si encontraste la solución.

I need a brand and/or type of grease to put inside the auto trans in order to hold the check-ball valve and springs, etc so they wont fall out as i reinstall my valve body from under the car?? Please advise asap. I live in Melbourne, Australia
ola, aqui no brasil os veiculos equipados com essa transmissao apresentam a queima da 4 marcha e assim ocasionando o travamento das valvulas do corpo, sendo esse cambio equipando os veículos corolla.......
Big problem on 01,02,03 Rav 4. I have had a few of these units and 2 were still in good shape caught early but computer must be replaced and I have had success with the aftermarket computer repair on these and a lot less expensive than the dealer computer which will end up failing again. The drivers in the PCM fails is what I understand.

Hola Hiram, tengo un problema con una transmisión u241 de camry 2007, se daño la turbina, la reemplace y después de trabajar un rato el carro la transmisión comienza a fallar los cambios los hace bruscos,golpea de cambio y no genera codigo de falla,haber si me puedes echar la mano gracias.

tengo exactamente el mismo problema en una siena 2007 cambie el selenoide SL2 funciono al principio despues volvio el problema.
What will happen if you disconnect TCM how many gears will work will reverse work? I have Toyota corolla verso euro version crazy semi automatic tranny now I will replace with u341e full automatic now the problem will be the TCM is not compatible is there any way to rewire the u341e to its own TCM or it is possible to put manual switches on the solenoids need your help please Rafael from Philippines

I wonder how that would look on a scope or meter on the solenoid control wire. I think the voltage on the control wire might be 3-4 volts lower than system voltage.
I'm not sure, but now that I think about it, we may have had one of these in the shop for a week or so that I think may have had this very problem. I never did get to look at it cause it's been World War 7 at the shop for a couple of weeks now. Another guy looked at it and said it needed a transmission cause the motor wouldn't rev past 2500 RPM's in gear. It could've been this problem, and it could've also been a clogged cat. This other guys been known to misdiagnose stuff, so I gotta take what he said with a grain of salt. I guess we'll never know now cause the people said they weren't gonna fix it and they came and got it.
Where did you get the parts and how much do you spend on the kit?
