I'm so soft, the way you've portrayed how Shen Qingqiu feels for Binghe, how he always cares, how he always loves and how all he wants is for Binghe to be happy and do well for himself, even at the cost of himself. Especially in the beginning, he might call it hugging the Protaganist's legs for comfort but he certainly doesn't act like its a simple one way transactional relationship for him. Love this characterisation, the art, the pacing, made me cry it was so beautiful.
I hope you know how much you greatly contributed to the SVSSS fandom. We're such a pitiful bunch.. even though SVSSS came from the same author that wrote TGCF AND MDZS and is the first novel MXTX released, we hardly have any content at all. The other two got donghua adaptation, manhua adaptation and even live-action adaptation(also a bunch of merch and audio drama).. meanwhile we only have the novel itself, 3 chapters from the cancelled manhua and 1 season of the donghua to live by. That's it. But luckily kind fans like you come to the fandom and make content for other fans to enjoy, words can't express how grateful I am for this. If you're reading this, I genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so so much. I hope you'll flourish in life, may your path ahead be without obstacles. You did an amazing job, have a great day.
We're all desperately reaching for crumbs and I struggle to see why it's never become as popular as it's siblings. I could see them choosing the 3d animation style for the donghua might've been the downfall there since the other two have both fallen into the 2d style but like SVSSS is still so damn good and needs more love. I want figures of them so badly! I really do wonder if things would've turned out differently if SVSSS had been animated like it's younger siblings. Maybe then we would've gotten to properly witness the chaos that is the sheer amount of miscommunication between these idiots. Then again who knows. I just wish our adorable idiots would've gotten the love they deserved.
@@chaoticdusk1316 I guess it was a problem that the world of SVSSS is only midly discussed (unlike the world building in MDZS and such) and it's also overall fast-paced, so it's probably difficult to turn that into a 20 minute episode. Even normal anime producers and stuff struggle to gather enough content (or add something new) and with svsss it's mostly descriptions and monologue (both of which are either only a few seconds when animated, or, with internal dialog, rather "boring" for an animated show) But I definitely agree that we are hanging on by a threat of outside content in the fandom lmao
1:44 is one of my favorite parts. Luo Binghe looks so out of place in the room, but i think what's interesting is the colors. Red's the color of evil, right? But Luo Binghe is blue. And if you take a closer look, the room is actually blue, too. What's red is the light coming from Shen Qingqiu's side. You can think of the red as what *appears* to be evil: Luo Binghe's glowing eyes and demon mark (the signs of his blackening), the doors that frame his arrival, the whole GLOW of the room and Shen Qingqiu, who thinks he's dead. Luo Binghe is actually blue- he's not gonna hurt Shen Qingqiu. The room is also blue- he's not actually in danger. But the red light shifts his perspective, and instead of staying (in the blue room) he runs (to the SOURCE of the red), hurting Luo Binghe and messing up the situation even more. With these two colors, it's telling you that this is due to Shen Qingqiu's inability to understand the situation and recognize Luo Binghe's feelings. Brilliant🎆 What were you originally thinking as you added the colors, creator? :3
love how the endless abyss push scene 1:11 and the jinlan tower fall 2:28 are paralleled, both in lyrics and the drawn animation ♥️ the first one have sqq looking down into the abyss after lbh's fall like he's contemplating of jumping after him but can't bc of the system preventing him from going off from the predetermined storyline (the lyrics going "don't cry" and he can only cried a single teadrop helplessly, and then the lyrics saying what he couldn't confess: "don't go"). in jinlan city, sqq *chose* to throw himself off the edge to his death (and subsequent rebirth, like lbh coming out of the abyss becoming a fully-realized demon, therefore, a 'rebirth') bc it's literally the symbol of him "paying back" what he had done to lbh. but lbh jump after him, with nothing to prevent him, bc he's the protagonist, the entire system is for HIS story to go the way HE wanted 😭 ("don't cry" lbh let a drop of blood fell in place of tears, then immediately take action, then the "don't go" lyrics again saying what the character's heart is screaming, bc this is the second time they had to watch the other leave them behind)

Holy shit, this is so insanely good!!! I'm kind of losing my mind at all the little details in this. From watching this on repeat a few times already (there will be more, I am Obsessed), I am going to word vomit all my favorite things so far because I simply cannot pick just one: - the way the facial expressions and scenes are all timed with the lyrics SO GOOD - at 00:57 the hesitant smile turning into a frown and being hidden AGHHHAHGAHH my heart - sqq closing his eyes before pushing lbh into the abyss 😭 - the lighting when lbh comes back, HAUNTING - sqq immediately dipping thru the window is cracking me up - the running across the rooftop shadows looks so cool, it's like a fairytale storybook - at 02:00, just this whole sequence with the spotlights is so well-timed and is exactly the comedy of the novel, I love it so much (special love for dumb nerd shen yuan with the body pillow and sqq choking out living squeaky toy sqh) and then ending on lbh looking like a kicked puppy with that LYRIC UGHHH I perish - 02:18 is such pretty, smooth animation as it breaks my heart lol - THE FALLING WITH THE SUN IN THE BG OOOOOO gorgeous - transition at 02:40 KILLED ME ON THE SPOT and the different animation style for the dream is so cool - I adore the final shot of sqq looking up at lbh and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way it parallels the very first shot of sqq looking up at baby lbh but this time he doesn't hide his expression with the fan T_T - I adore all the dramatic shots where a specific color is highlighted, so like 01:04 for lbh's tears & sqq's eyes, 01:40 for lbh's eyes/demon mark & sqq's eyes again, and 02:29 for the red of the blood & lbh's eyes. It's such a cool recurring detail

I feel like this is 100% what actually happened, no unreliable narrator to tell us he "didn't really mind this" or he "wasn't actually upset about that"- this is what other people have seen all along and what even sqq himself struggled to understand: his genuine love and care for binghe, the way he would do anything for him. i love this
He wasn't aware of his love for Binghe, and later on he had a hard time admitting it to himself. But in the latter half of the story, he gradually became aware of it and could no longer deny it. In the end, while many think that he gave up resisting Binghe, he actually gave up denying his own feelings.
I know I’ve already commented on this but i’ve rewatched it like five times since and also made my mother watch it for absolutely no reason and I just like to say I love the sequence at 2:19 with the demonic and spiritual energy I think it looked phenominal, and the falling part after was really good too. Also enjoyed the slideshow-type frames. I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into this!

THIS IS SO FREAKING BEAUTIFUL I love this so much oh my goodness. It really captures all the emotions that were present in the novel, and it hits every emotional moment that made my heart lurch. This is so well done too, I love the shadows especially when they're running over the roof. This is perfection.

this mv convinced me to buy the novels and i will forever be grateful for that i can feel my brain chemistry changing as i read and i continue to remember this mv while i do it's so spectacular. when i started i was super excited to get to key moments in this mv like the endless abyss scene, i was so hyped for that one and when i got to it i read reaaally slowly to savor every word. after pretty much finishing the first book in a day i went to rewatch this mv before going to bed so i could have it lull me to sleep (it did just that) and i was overjoyed to recognize and understand scenes in the mv, such as even the opening sequence and the "welcome to 'proud immortal demon way" and the sequence at 0:44. i was also super happy to finally understand the series of scenes at 2:03 with the ooc which on my first couple watches (before reading) i was curious about. which, on my first watch, i was immediately blown away by the stunning animation and how the colors and background are so well done and are *so* captivating. it also introduced me to a mafumafu cover of this song which i'd previously only heard a slower, acoustic cover of, so i was super excited just to have stumbled upon a lovely cover by my favorite artist, much less with a gorgeous mv to go with it!!! which also got me obsessed with the song and had it playing nonstop in my head for several days straight before i even bought the novels, and as i mentioned before i often recall this mv while reading because it's just *so good.* just before typing this up, i got to the scene at 2:19 in the novel, and i was gasping aloud and having all sorts of emotions because i'd realized what part of the mv i was at, and i was so excited and anxious to be able to watch and more fully understand and savor another part of this gorgeous mv!! i also want to point out how well the lyrics match up with the scenes and how you can feel the characters inner voice mimic the lyrics, which is something i could tell before even reading the novels, and now makes me even more overjoyed realizing again with proper context. to ramble about my favorite points of this so far, starting with the one that stood out to me most with every watch, at 1:41 when Luo Binghe shows up at the door, and the part of the lyric "everything will be the same always struck me as "things are the same now that you're here again" and that is what it felt like to me, reading and going Luo Binghe is back! more of this lovely, stupidly complicated dynamic of theirs that i love so much! and right after that, the "I knew this would come" lyric is so perfectly fitting it makes me kick my feet in joy and appreciation for how obvious it is that you put so much effort and love into this mv!!! like i can feel it seeping out there's so much care in this animation i love it so much!! a little cherry on top to that scene is i love how them running across the building has their steps match the drums in the song. it's scrumptious more of my favorites include at the beginning drums, where I can recognize the bloodied leaf and jade pendant (not sure on the other two but I likely will be after having read more. rn I’m about halfway through the second book), how every lyric, starting from the first one at 0:23, is so well thought out paired with the visuals that it drives me insane (in the best way). “‘It’s nothing,’ I thought to myself / the truth is, I wanted to stop those footsteps for a moment / but you’re gliding forward with such quick steps, / that I simply watch” Shen Qingqiu tends to undermine his feelings, which the ‘it’s nothing’ lyric shows, wanting to stop those footsteps but simply watching shows how he doenst want to progress certain parts of the original canon storyline, and also how he doenst want to lose his sweet “lamb like” disciple. “On the last train, you board, leaving me behind” with the scene of Binghe talking with Liu Mingyan showing how Shen Qingqiu views this as Binghe “leaving him behind” to do harem stuff despite that not being Binghe’s feelings about it. I also love how the “slides away” part of the next lyric is in tune with the curtain sliding back into place and covering Shen Qingqiu’s face. I also love how originally he looks pleased, but then his smile falls, then the fan covers it. it really shows a lot of emotion so simply and it reflects how skilled you are and I’m just so obsessed with every little detail in this mv I could talk about it for forever more rambling on about this!!! “You fade out of sight, far far away,” while showing Binghe’s expression as the sword stabs him, the lyric speaking thoughts of both characters, showing both how Binghe’s image of his shizun starts to change or “fade out of sight,” *and* how from Shen Qingqiu’s perspective, Binghe will soon be leaving him behind, and also literally fading out of sight. “I can’t quite see it” paired with Shen Qingqiu closing his eyes- exquisite. “The night crumbles apart” while Binghe falls into the abyss. I am frothing at the mouth at how well done this mv is and I will continue to repeat for as long as I am typing this ridiculously long comment. I love how the mv is largely from Shen Qingqiu’s perspective, with parts of it also reflecting Luo Binghe’s thoughts. and the music change paired with the scene change at 1:20 always gets me, it’s just so nice!! another scene I was overjoyed to understand as I was reading. “But you looked so much more alluring than usual, that I simply watched” upon my first watch seemed obviously from Binghe’s thoughts, seeing as his face clearly softens during that lyric. but after reading and having to watch both characters continuously describe how beautiful the other is, it’s definitely from both of them. without a doubt. I have yelled “YOU ARE NOT STRAIGHT” in my head so many times now and I’m not even halfway through this series also hilarious to have the drums after that show the scene when Shen Qingqiu’s clothes get ripped off (why does this keep happening to him, not even the first time Binghe’s seen him half naked, nor the last), the expressions are very on point that is how they looked. there is not a doubt in my mind those were their expressions during that scene it was so funny to read. I also love Shen Yuan being depicted with a cucumber shirt, it’s a lovely touch! I also love the flashes of interaction with several other characters, it just further solidifies for me that this mv is perfect and has everything and I could never want for more, I am so glad this is what got me into svsss, and I mean that with all my heart!!! back to lyric over analysis with 2:19 and the scene that killed me and then brought me back to life and drove me to start typing this like a madman. the second “you fade out of sight … / leaving me behind” lyric, this one more from Binghe’s perspective in an emotional sense, as Shen Qingqiu is leaving him behind through dying, while the lyric from Shen Qingqiu’s perspective once again takes a more literal meaning, as Binghe is literally “fading from sight” as his sight and life are fading. reading this scene crushed me, and watching it again is like feeding my hungry soul. this mv enhances my read to such an extent I will shut up about it ever never ever. “Completely, once again, the night spreads itself out.” ‘once again, and for certain, I’m losing you.’ is all I can hear from this lyric. I also love the flashes as Shen Qingqiu falls, with Luo Binghe’s hands stretching out more with each flash. the “don’t cry” lyric this time at 2:29 is clearly for Binghe, rather than for Shen Qingqiu the first time at 0:53, and for both the second time at 1:11. the “don’t go” is a plea from both of them to the other, and it hurts my soul and makes me feel so happy that I’m reading this book and that i decided to click on this mv because it is actively making my life better and I could not thank you enough for making it. the rest of the mv are scenes I don’t yet understand because I haven’t gotten to them (with the exception of 2:58, which I can see is Shen Qingqiu flying on his sword, but I’m sure I’m missing some story element, which I don’t mind), but I know that when I do I will remember this mv and return to rewatch it with excitement and joy in my heart. one final thank you for creating this!!! and I hope you’re having good days, or if you aren’t that you will soon, because you definitely made my day, week, heck even made my start of 2024 many times brighter and you deserve that as well!!!!

Shen qingqiu is a really complicated character, and i raise my standard really high when it comes too fanmade content about him and i always feel like people doesnt understand him enough, but you nailed it!!

If you can read Chinese, there is a very well-written fanfic called Du Shan Chun (渡山春）that I see as a continuation to the original novel. It's so well written and close to the novel that I even suspected MXTX wrote it herself. Highly recommended.

i know i’m almost two years late but i need to say just how much i love this video. i come back to it 4/5 times a week. i show it to my brother and my BingQiu plushies. i’ve watched it so many times i can perfectly visualize it, from start to finish, whenever i listen to Ikanaide. the art, the storyboarding, the way it perfectly encapsulates Shen Qingqiu’s adoration for Luo Binghe.. gosh i love it so so so much.

Love how this animation is made from SQQ's perspective. From reading the original Chinese version, my impression is that Binghe has always been in his heart, from the very beginning until the end. He wasn't aware of it until very late in the story, but everyone around him noticed that as the story proceeded. One more thing I'd like to add is that in the Chinese culture, men in senior positions (such as teachers/masters and fathers) are not supposed to express their emotions openly. They're expected to be always calm or even stoic under all situations. This is why SQQ cannot express his love openly and direcly the same way as Binghe does. Instead, his love is hidden in many small details throughout the story, and even when he does express it verbally, he does it in a rather indirect way (partially due to his personality as well). This is easily understood by Chinese readers, but it may be difficult to pick up for readers from other cultures. (This is why I think a video from SQQ's POV is especially precious, because we can finally see what his internal emotions are like.)
I started reading MXTX Novels recently, so a week ago I finished SVSSS and found this. Since then I watch it daily and today was the first day I didn't cry watching it (still had wet eyes tho but the tear didn't drop). I love the choice of the song and the animation is so beautiful. Absolutely obsessed with this. Your art is blowing my mind. You animated this so wonderfully, all the movement is so good, the framing, the colors, the scenes you chose to depict and the way you depicted them!! Such an incredible exploration of their story and relationship. I think my favorite scene is the one of SQQ at LBH's grave and we see his POV with the subtle blurring hinting at his tears before we see one drop on his hand. It's so cleverly done and really hit at my heart. Beautiful beautiful work, will definitely be rewatching many times.

I'm so soft, the way you've portrayed how Shen Qingqiu feels for Binghe, how he always cares, how he always loves and how all he wants is for Binghe to be happy and do well for himself, even at the cost of himself. Especially in the beginning, he might call it hugging the Protaganist's legs for comfort but he certainly doesn't act like its a simple one way transactional relationship for him. Love this characterisation, the art, the pacing, made me cry it was so beautiful.
Him hitting the OOC system alert is so accurate, and him strangling Shang Qinghua/great master airplane, is super hilarious 😂
I hope you know how much you greatly contributed to the SVSSS fandom. We're such a pitiful bunch.. even though SVSSS came from the same author that wrote TGCF AND MDZS and is the first novel MXTX released, we hardly have any content at all. The other two got donghua adaptation, manhua adaptation and even live-action adaptation(also a bunch of merch and audio drama).. meanwhile we only have the novel itself, 3 chapters from the cancelled manhua and 1 season of the donghua to live by. That's it. But luckily kind fans like you come to the fandom and make content for other fans to enjoy, words can't express how grateful I am for this. If you're reading this, I genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so so much. I hope you'll flourish in life, may your path ahead be without obstacles. We're all desperately reaching for crumbs and I struggle to see why it's never become as popular as it's siblings. I could see them choosing the 3d animation style for the donghua might've been the downfall there since the other two have both fallen into the 2d style but like SVSSS is still so damn good and needs more love. I want figures of them so badly! I really do wonder if things would've turned out differently if SVSSS had been animated like it's younger siblings. Maybe then we would've gotten to properly witness the chaos that is the sheer amount of miscommunication between these idiots. Then again who knows. I just wish our adorable idiots would've gotten the love they deserved.

@@chaoticdusk1316 I guess it was a problem that the world of SVSSS is only midly discussed (unlike the world building in MDZS and such) and it's also overall fast-paced, so it's probably difficult to turn that into a 20 minute episode. Even normal anime producers and stuff struggle to gather enough content (or add something new) and with svsss it's mostly descriptions and monologue (both of which are either only a few seconds when animated, or, with internal dialog, rather "boring" for an animated show)
But I definitely agree that we are hanging on by a threat of outside content in the fandom lmao

1:44 is one of my favorite parts. Luo Binghe looks so out of place in the room, but i think what's interesting is the colors. Red's the color of evil, right? But Luo Binghe is blue. And if you take a closer look, the room is actually blue, too. What's red is the light coming from Shen Qingqiu's side. You can think of the red as what *appears* to be evil: Luo Binghe's glowing eyes and demon mark (the signs of his blackening), the doors that frame his arrival, the whole GLOW of the room and Shen Qingqiu, who thinks he's dead. Luo Binghe is actually blue- he's not gonna hurt Shen Qingqiu. The room is also blue- he's not actually in danger. But the red light shifts his perspective, and instead of staying (in the blue room) he runs (to the SOURCE of the red), hurting Luo Binghe and messing up the situation even more. With these two colors, it's telling you that this is due to Shen Qingqiu's inability to understand the situation and recognize Luo Binghe's feelings. Brilliant🎆

love how the endless abyss push scene 1:11 and the jinlan tower fall 2:28 are paralleled, both in lyrics and the drawn animation ♥️ the first one have sqq looking down into the abyss after lbh's fall like he's contemplating of jumping after him but can't bc of the system preventing him from going off from the predetermined storyline (the lyrics going "don't cry" and he can only cried a single teadrop helplessly, and then the lyrics saying what he couldn't confess: "don't go"). in jinlan city, sqq *chose* to throw himself off the edge to his death (and subsequent rebirth, like lbh coming out of the abyss becoming a fully-realized demon, therefore, a 'rebirth') bc it's literally the symbol of him "paying back" what he had done to lbh. but lbh jump after him, with nothing to prevent him, bc he's the protagonist, the entire system is for HIS story to go the way HE wanted 😭 ("don't cry" lbh let a drop of blood fell in place of tears, then immediately take action, then the "don't go" lyrics again saying what the character's heart is screaming, bc this is the second time they had to watch the other leave them behind)

Holy shit, this is so insanely good!!! I'm kind of losing my mind at all the little details in this. From watching this on repeat a few times already (there will be more, I am Obsessed), I am going to word vomit all my favorite things so far because I simply cannot pick just one:
- the way the facial expressions and scenes are all timed with the lyrics SO GOOD
- at 00:57 the hesitant smile turning into a frown and being hidden AGHHHAHGAHH my heart
- sqq closing his eyes before pushing lbh into the abyss 😭
- the lighting when lbh comes back, HAUNTING
- sqq immediately dipping thru the window is cracking me up
- the running across the rooftop shadows looks so cool, it's like a fairytale storybook
- at 02:00, just this whole sequence with the spotlights is so well-timed and is exactly the comedy of the novel, I love it so much (special love for dumb nerd shen yuan with the body pillow and sqq choking out living squeaky toy sqh) and then ending on lbh looking like a kicked puppy with that LYRIC UGHHH I perish

- I adore all the dramatic shots where a specific color is highlighted, so like 01:04 for lbh's tears & sqq's eyes, 01:40 for lbh's eyes/demon mark & sqq's eyes again, and 02:29 for the red of the blood & lbh's eyes. It's such a cool recurring detail

I feel like this is 100% what actually happened, no unreliable narrator to tell us he "didn't really mind this" or he "wasn't actually upset about that"- this is what other people have seen all along and what even sqq himself struggled to understand: his genuine love and care for binghe, the way he would do anything for him.

He wasn't aware of his love for Binghe, and later on he had a hard time admitting it to himself. But in the latter half of the story, he gradually became aware of it and could no longer deny it. In the end, while many think that he gave up resisting Binghe, he actually gave up denying his own feelings.
I know I’ve already commented on this but i’ve rewatched it like five times since and also made my mother watch it for absolutely no reason and I just like to say I love the sequence at 2:19 with the demonic and spiritual energy I think it looked phenominal, and the falling part after was really good too. Also enjoyed the slideshow-type frames. I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into this!

this mv convinced me to buy the novels and i will forever be grateful for that i can feel my brain chemistry changing as i read and i continue to remember this mv while i do it's so spectacular. when i started i was super excited to get to key moments in this mv like the endless abyss scene, i was so hyped for that one and when i got to it i read reaaally slowly to savor every word. after pretty much finishing the first book in a day i went to rewatch this mv before going to bed so i could have it lull me to sleep (it did just that) and i was overjoyed to recognize and understand scenes in the mv, such as even the opening sequence and the "welcome to 'proud immortal demon way" and the sequence at
0:44. i was also super happy to finally understand the series of scenes at 2:03 with the ooc which on my first couple watches (before reading) i was curious about.
which, on my first watch, i was immediately blown away by the stunning animation and how the colors and background are so well done and are *so* captivating. it also introduced me to a mafumafu cover of this song which i'd previously only heard a slower, acoustic cover of, so i was super excited just to have stumbled upon a lovely cover by my favorite artist, much less with a gorgeous mv to go with it!!! which also got me obsessed with the song and had it playing nonstop in my head for several days straight before i even bought the novels, and as i mentioned before i often recall this mv while reading because it's just *so good.*
just before typing this up, i got to the scene at 2:19 in the novel, and i was gasping aloud and having all sorts of emotions because i'd realized what part of the mv i was at, and i was so excited and anxious to be able to watch and more fully understand and savor another part of this gorgeous mv!! i also want to point out how well the lyrics match up with the scenes and how you can feel the characters inner voice mimic the lyrics, which is something i could tell before even reading the novels, and now makes me even more overjoyed realizing again with proper context.
to ramble about my favorite points of this so far, starting with the one that stood out to me most with every watch, at 1:41 when Luo Binghe shows up at the door, and the part of the lyric "everything will be the same always struck me as
"things are the same now that you're here again" and that is what it felt like to me, reading and going Luo Binghe is back! more of this lovely, stupidly complicated dynamic of theirs that i love so much! and right after that, the "I knew this would come" lyric is so perfectly fitting it makes me kick my feet in joy and appreciation for how obvious it is that you put so much effort and love into this mv!!! like i can feel it seeping out there's so much care in this animation i love it so much!! a little cherry on top to that scene is i love how them running across the building has their steps match the drums in the song. it's scrumptious
more of my favorites include at the beginning drums, where I can recognize the bloodied leaf and jade pendant (not sure on the other two but I likely will be after having read more. rn I’m about halfway through the second book), how every lyric, starting from the first one at 0:23, is so well thought out paired with the visuals that it drives me insane (in the best way). “‘It’s nothing,’ I thought to myself / the truth is, I wanted to stop those footsteps for a moment / but you’re gliding forward with such quick steps, / that I simply watch” Shen Qingqiu tends to undermine his feelings, which the ‘it’s nothing’ lyric shows, wanting to stop those footsteps but simply watching shows how he doenst want to progress certain parts of the original canon storyline, and also how he doenst want to lose his sweet “lamb like” disciple. “On the last train, you board, leaving me behind” with the scene of Binghe talking with Liu Mingyan showing how Shen Qingqiu views this as Binghe “leaving him behind” to do harem stuff despite that not being Binghe’s feelings about it. I also love how the “slides away” part of the next lyric is in tune with the curtain sliding back into place and covering Shen Qingqiu’s face. I also love how originally he looks pleased, but then his smile falls, then the fan covers it. it really shows a lot of emotion so simply and it reflects how skilled you are and I’m just so obsessed with every little detail in this mv I could talk about it for forever
more rambling on about this!!! “You fade out of sight, far far away,” while showing Binghe’s expression as the sword stabs him, the lyric speaking thoughts of both characters, showing both how Binghe’s image of his shizun starts to change or “fade out of sight,” *and* how from Shen Qingqiu’s perspective, Binghe will soon be leaving him behind, and also literally fading out of sight. “I can’t quite see it” paired with Shen Qingqiu closing his eyes- exquisite. “The night crumbles apart” while Binghe falls into the abyss. I am frothing at the mouth at how well done this mv is and I will continue to repeat for as long as I am typing this ridiculously long comment.
I love how the mv is largely from Shen Qingqiu’s perspective, with parts of it also reflecting Luo Binghe’s thoughts. and the music change paired with the scene change at 1:20 always gets me, it’s just so nice!! another scene I was overjoyed to understand as I was reading. “But you looked so much more alluring than usual, that I simply watched” upon my first watch seemed obviously from Binghe’s thoughts, seeing as his face clearly softens during that lyric. but after reading and having to watch both characters continuously describe how beautiful the other is, it’s definitely from both of them. without a doubt. I have yelled “YOU ARE NOT STRAIGHT” in my head so many times now and I’m not even halfway through this series
also hilarious to have the drums after that show the scene when Shen Qingqiu’s clothes get ripped off (why does this keep happening to him, not even the first time Binghe’s seen him half naked, nor the last), the expressions are very on point that is how they looked. there is not a doubt in my mind those were their expressions during that scene it was so funny to read. I also love Shen Yuan being depicted with a cucumber shirt, it’s a lovely touch! I also love the flashes of interaction with several other characters, it just further solidifies for me that this mv is perfect and has everything and I could never want for more, I am so glad this is what got me into svsss, and I mean that with all my heart!!!
back to lyric over analysis with 2:19 and the scene that killed me and then brought me back to life and drove me to start typing this like a madman. the second “you fade out of sight … / leaving me behind” lyric, this one more from Binghe’s perspective in an emotional sense, as Shen Qingqiu is leaving him behind through dying, while the lyric from Shen Qingqiu’s perspective once again takes a more literal meaning, as Binghe is literally “fading from sight” as his sight and life are fading. reading this scene crushed me, and watching it again is like feeding my hungry soul. this mv enhances my read to such an extent I will shut up about it ever never ever. “Completely, once again, the night spreads itself out.” ‘once again, and for certain, I’m losing you.’ is all I can hear from this lyric. I also love the flashes as Shen Qingqiu falls, with Luo Binghe’s hands stretching out more with each flash. the “don’t cry” lyric this time at 2:29 is clearly for Binghe, rather than for Shen Qingqiu the first time at 0:53, and for both the second time at 1:11. the “don’t go” is a plea from both of them to the other, and it hurts my soul and makes me feel so happy that I’m reading this book and that i decided to click on this mv because it is actively making my life better and I could not thank you enough for making it.
the rest of the mv are scenes I don’t yet understand because I haven’t gotten to them (with the exception of 2:58, which I can see is Shen Qingqiu flying on his sword, but I’m sure I’m missing some story element, which I don’t mind), but I know that when I do I will remember this mv and return to rewatch it with excitement and joy in my heart. one final thank you for creating this!!! and I hope you’re having good days, or if you aren’t that you will soon, because you definitely made my day, week, heck even made my start of 2024 many times brighter and you deserve that as well!!!!

If you can read Chinese, there is a very well-written fanfic called Du Shan Chun (渡山春）that I see as a continuation to the original novel. It's so well written and close to the novel that I even suspected MXTX wrote it herself. Highly recommended.

i know i’m almost two years late but i need to say just how much i love this video. i come back to it 4/5 times a week. i show it to my brother and my BingQiu plushies. i’ve watched it so many times i can perfectly visualize it, from start to finish, whenever i listen to Ikanaide. the art, the storyboarding, the way it perfectly encapsulates Shen Qingqiu’s adoration for Luo Binghe.. gosh i love it so so so much.

Love how this animation is made from SQQ's perspective. From reading the original Chinese version, my impression is that Binghe has always been in his heart, from the very beginning until the end. He wasn't aware of it until very late in the story, but everyone around him noticed that as the story proceeded.
One more thing I'd like to add is that in the Chinese culture, men in senior positions (such as teachers/masters and fathers) are not supposed to express their emotions openly. They're expected to be always calm or even stoic under all situations. This is why SQQ cannot express his love openly and direcly the same way as Binghe does. Instead, his love is hidden in many small details throughout the story, and even when he does express it verbally, he does it in a rather indirect way (partially due to his personality as well). This is easily understood by Chinese readers, but it may be difficult to pick up for readers from other cultures.
(This is why I think a video from SQQ's POV is especially precious, because we can finally see what his internal emotions are like.)
I started reading MXTX Novels recently, so a week ago I finished SVSSS and found this. Since then I watch it daily and today was the first day I didn't cry watching it (still had wet eyes tho but the tear didn't drop). I love the choice of the song and the animation is so beautiful. Absolutely obsessed with this. Your art is blowing my mind. You animated this so wonderfully, all the movement is so good, the framing, the colors, the scenes you chose to depict and the way you depicted them!! Such an incredible exploration of their story and relationship. I think my favorite scene is the one of SQQ at LBH's grave and we see his POV with the subtle blurring hinting at his tears before we see one drop on his hand. It's so cleverly done and really hit at my heart. Beautiful beautiful work, will definitely be rewatching many times.
