Each to their own. IMO, Damian Wilson's the best singer ever in the prog scene. I am a fan of Arena since their first album, and some of them are exceptionaly good, but this tToMI is by far their best (mostly because of Damian's contribution). Album of the year to me, and definitely one the masterpieces of neo-prog.
Wow. I think he's an incredibly average singer. He might be a bit better than Nick Barrett, but compared to Fish, H, Peter Nicholls and Alan Reed, he just doesn't match up.
I don't really like the new album that much either, despite being a long-term fan.

I never thought Damian's voice was a good match for Threshold's sound.
At the same time, I wasn't much of an Arena fan, besides Contagion. The old singer doesn't do much for me.
But hearing this - Damian + Arena is truly a match made in heaven! Phenomenal!

The album is a rehash and reused melodies. Daman tries his best but really Arena members need to concentrate on the band and not their solo stuff.
Several times i try to give a hear to the new arena album...but no... Damian wilson voice.. i can't... i already had trouble with paul manzi voice... i won't buy this album.. i'm orphan of the first Arena voices, John carson, Paul wrightson, and rob sowden.. definitely the Arena era i prefer.. from very very far :-(
Not sure damian is the perfect person to replace Paul Manzi ....
They should have got Alan Reed. You only have to watch his performance of The Hanging Tree with Neo to see what he could have done.
I'm not convinced by Damien Wilson at all.
