    Thanks for this. UHI just got into Canada and it is helping decide which one to get. I had never heard of this company until a post from marketplace took me to the new store in my area

      I think UHI first opened in Toronto but have expanded into BC in Canada. I have had my machine for 2 years now with 100 hours and no problems at all. Buying from a retailer that has a warranty and parts beats buying one from a Ritchie Bros auction. Cheers Dave.

      @TreeChangeFarmer thank you sir. Yes I'm in Vancouver area BC. Just saw the rep couple hours ago. I was literally just watching more of your videos on what the machine can do..I think I'll pull the plug on the UME 28
      How do you compare these to either John deere or bobcat or caterpillar

    I was highly impressed with that man's knowledge, he knew all about his range of machines.
    Impressive too was the warranty on the mini excavators, 4 Years/4,000 Hours, and they come with 9 standard accessoriesl

      @@johnnohra955 the cheap entry level ones have a single cylinder engine to at is actually a knock off of a yanmar engine. There are 2 brands they come in , Koop and Changchai. Koop’s are ok if you change the air filters a lot but they are easy to get dusted. The Changchai ones are awfully built. Mine started sucking the sump oil and Ran away on me within 80 hours or so, the fuel tank rubbed a hole because of poor mounting, there’s a decompression lever that started leaking oil from.
      I think they make them with genuine kubota or yanmar engines now but you pay a bit more for it obviously. Those ones arnt bad. I’m running a 1.2 ton model with a genuine kubota engine and haven’t had any issues with it and iv done 80 hours on the clock. Keep on top of Maintenace like checking for loose bolts ect. Even the engine mounts can come loose and cause it to sound rattley. Other than that it’s worth buying one from a dealership than buying one direct from China as you get the warranty and spare parts.

      There are steel uprights that support the roof. It is very substantial behind the operators seat. Certainly I think it would help in a rollover but I wouldn't call it a full ROPS.

    Wonder how many of these Chinese diggers are still going to be working after a couple of years use?

    • @peterphan3524
      @peterphan3524 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably after 2 years you can dispose it to recycling center because it would cause you more to fix than buy a new one. If you buy other major brand would cause you arms and legs but still give you same headache after 4 years or sooner.

      You really do have to maintain these Chinese machines, otherwise they rattle themselves into oblivion, particularly the smaller models. That said, many buy a 1 ton model and expect it to dig out a motorway mile at the same rate as an 8 tonner. They are not meant, despite what the Chinese manufacturers claim, for heavy industrial use. Buy direct from China and you can kiss goodbye to any warranty claim, once they have your money you are on your own with any issues. The Chinese manufacturers will argue the warranty claim is due to abuse and therefore not covered, in the meantime you are stranded. Thankfully, there is an abundance of generic parts available, sourcing them however is time consuming.
      We are running a 1 ton machine and in less than 250 hours,we have replaced one ram, starter motor and fuel pump. We have manufactured our own pins from mild steel, quick to manufacture, easy to replace and saves premature wear and tear on the bushings.
      In 12 months it has lost 50%, possibly more of the purchase price, we will run it until it drops. We paid very little for it, it has paid for itself already, something that cannot be claimed if we had bought a snob brand.
      Change the engine oil every 100 hours, check bolts and grease every day and they will work for you.
      For occasional use they are excellent value, especially if you are familiar with a socket set and large peening hammer.

    • @humourless682
      @humourless682 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andycapp8843 Thing is a "snob brand" will be far more reliable, and a good condition used machine, is probably a far better idea than new Chinese.
