Thanks for the in-depth. I've never used glitter paints, but this seems more subtle, so worth a try! Rubens is good quality especially for the cost.
Glittery watercolor paper didn't know it was a thing but now I must have some. I love how you tested out different techniques and everything to best show the effects of the glitter.

I've been playing around some more and have found that the Winsor and Newton inks work perfectly as they are lovely and transparent.

An alluring amphibian, a glimmering girl and shimmering cephalopod; what a fantastic way to introduce this wonderful paper. The subtle shimmer-shine enhances the watery nature of the images, the dewy glisten of the frog, the faintest traces of moisture on the maiden’s skin and the wet leather sheen of the octopus, simply stunning. Thank you so much for sharing your techniques and findings using this paper. You are such an inspiration (I can’t wait for my craft room reorganisation to be completed so that I can continue my art journey).
😍 thank you Janet ♥️ I love the start of your comment 💕 the subtle sparkle is so interesting to work on. Yes some watercolours may be a little bit opaque to benefit from the sparkle but with the transparent mediums 😍😍😍 gorgeous 😍

My room at home is also due another sort out 😅 it's always a big job. Now that the covid restrictions are lifting I'm moving studio too (only swapping rooms but there's even more to go through there)

Thank you Beate A 🥰 I was really pleased with this paper! I thought it may reject the paint or the glitter would flake off. But it was an absolute pleasure to work on. It definitely works best with a transparent medium. I wish I had used ink for the frog so it would have sparkled more ✨

Well guess what I just gone and bought 🥰 these are great! Love the mermaid, but also love the last one where the black ink had the glitter showing through, perfect 👌💕🤣💕

i have just started using Paul Rubens watercolors and I must say i really like them.. i have seen this set ,and wondered what it would be like.. it appears they are quite nice.. :)

So pleased to find your video lovely to find a watercolour painter in the UK can I ask how long it took to arrive I've been wary of ordering from Ali express
I've ordered from the Paul rubens official store and had thingd arrive in as little as 2 weeks. Longest was a 48 set of their paints which took exactly 3 months and 2 days from day of order.

Thank you Vanessa 🥰 I think my favourite paper was the cold press. It had a lovely balance of texture and the glitter showed through. The rough paper regardless of glitter was really nice for granulation and the smooth took fineliners well and was great for flat washes of colour ❤️ I have more experimenting to do 😁
