This is definitely one of the darker games in the series - particularly as it relates to the sadness of death. It was an excellent game. I mean...wow. Amazingly done.
Playing this game was very unsettling. I love this game, it's probably one of my favorites, but I can't bring myself to play it again. It freaked me out so much! HER did an amazing job at making this particular game very creepy and scary. Not particularly in a "whoa that thing just jumped out of me I'm having a heart attack" but more emotionally. One of the best game, I think:)
Ending 1: You don't help anyone get out. Ending 2: You help Harper and Jessalyn get out, but you do not help Clara. Ending 3: You help Harper, Jessalyn, and Clara get out. Plus you get the Humanitarian Trophy.
I let Clara die the first time, but I liked Harper to save her. I feel like there's a kind of disappointment in the voice acting for the first and second endings XD It's only when you save everyone that the voice isn't downcast. BTW, I gotta say, I totally saw the chemically induced hallucination thing coming. After Nancy made that off-hand comment to Harper about the furnace, I knew that would (sort of?) explain the ghosts. And the fainting. The only thing that bugs me is when you make a mistake and Charlotte's ghost comes and kills you... how to hallucinations murder, hmmm?
I say Charlotte spirit is real. When i personally been exposed to that toxic (real life) describe in game i never had hallucinations, i only got very tired.
omg I didn’t know there were alternative endings... I always wanted Nancy’s dialog to effect the outcome of a conversation or the end of the game. maybe I have to go play them again & see if different responses get different outcomes at the end
I think instead of the hallucinations due to fumes it should have ended like this "As for Charlotte and the so many strange things I saw around the house, I'm afraid I do not have a logical explanation this time. I guess some things are meant to remain a mystery." But that's just my opinion
thanks! my game kept exiting itself after Clara precedes Nancy out of the hole, so I couldn't even see the ending! [it didn't even occur to me to not help out everyone.]
I ran into a similar issue with one of the other ND games. I also helped everyone when playing the game for the first time, then later read somewhere that there are other endings and decided to record all of them.
If you open the vent in the crypt earlier in the game, it isn't "stuck" when you try to use it as an escape route from the fire. Technically, there are four endings.
and you didnt saw the hidden ghost scene..... if you wanna uploud it the way that you can find the scene id by cheaking the secret passge mulyipule times, and if it's not working try to do somthing after that you see clara, somthing that you gotta to finish the game, and then come back (you should look in the door that you can spy on clara with it hope you will track that ghost scene
Just finished this game. I saved everyone. Was kinda shocked there was an option to let people die 😬 tho Clara and Charlotte being ghosts together are kind of cute. But ya saving everyone is good

Yeah I felt like Clara did not deserve to be forgiven by Jessalyn... there should have been some form of emotional repercussion... like afterwards in the “good ending”, Jessalyn could have left the family for good and clara trying so hard to make amends but there are some things not even nancy could fix
@@nathanieljefferies5491Jessalyn was trying to prove Clara's guilt in order to figure out her distant behaviour and is trying to uncover the truth that it makes sense why she wouldn't cut her mother off who was torn to shreds over the guilt of accidently killing Charlotte.

Wow the first ending is just ouch...

i think hallucinations can kill you by giving you a heart attack.
I had no idea they were three endings! I only ever played it once. I know what I’ll be doing this weekend!

That does sound better for it.
But they did imply that option to
That's for believers and what they want to hear instead. The canon explanation is far more logical. It should remain that way.

How early in the game? The vent is always stuck for me
I replayed it. I can't open the vent until Jessalyn is gone and the generator is working. I doubt the vent can be opened earlier than that.
I made almost all the props from this game and created a real life actualy solvable Ghost of Thornton Hall!
I haven't found that scene, thanks. I might record and upload it later. I could, maybe, make video showing all ghost scenes or something like that.
there three ending I thought there only two endings one you choose to help them and one you choose to not help them.
Thanks for the video,amazing. 😁
this might be the first game with multiple endings...could be wrong though
Nancy Drew games generally do not have multiple endings, you are correct.
Shadow at the Water's Edge has 2 endings depending on what you choose to do with the culprit, but the difference isnt as drastic as this I think
@@aminated7027 I think Sea of Darkness also had two endings.

Yeah, I did that one. Idk why that ghost attacked me? Doesn't even make sense. Since when do hallucinations, attack?

Hmm, I see we have another Whovian here...
How come in the second ending Wade didn’t open Savannah’s letters?

shocking
You're saying that I'm not a good person? Just kidding :) Thanks for the sub, I really appreciate it!
This was so dark I couldn't believe Nancy/we could just let people die! That's so out of character for Nancy Drew!
I got so scared in this game but the ending was a disappointment
