I love this man. As a teenager involved in club motorsport in Lancashire in the 70's we saw Brian from time to time, possibly in a F5000 car. He was the local hero. He was and is a magical Lancastrian.

Interesting interview. Brian will always be known as one of the last of the Gentleman racers of his era. Anyone who raced the 917 is a true hero.

One of the nicest and humblest superstar drivers ever. I can’t recommend his book highly enough. I’ve been lucky to meet Brian a few times and although he may not know me from Adam he always greeted me as if I were an old friend. Thanks for this and the other interviews in this series. Great work 👍🏻

I’ve got an old copy of Motoring News and the headline is Brian Redman and Teddy Pilette, I met his father Andre when he was driving an Emeryson at Aintree in the Aintree 200

A great driver. A great raconteur.
Anyone notice the shark in the bottom right at 1:04:11?

I believe that they pressurised the aluminium chassis tubes of the 917 with nitrogen and relied on a pressure gauge to warn of a crack in the chassis

I wonder what made the Chev engine in the lola t70 unreliable?. Wouldn't it be the same engine used in F5000?

Believe it or not, the early chevy race engines were unreliable. Brian explains in his book that was the engineer at Jim Hall Racing that made changes to it to make it reliable for him.
