Let me know your thoughts and expectations this season for the Sens
I think Sens fans have learned in the past few years not to get overly hyped about a season. I’m going with cautiously optimistic this year. I have not invested too much time or thought about their trades or coaching changes because I’d rather just wait and see. Also, get through November and not allowing a goal in the first 2 or 3 shots in half the games will also be huge. Ullmark with a .910 save percentage will make a HUGE difference. See…cautiously optimistic. Great video!

Ullmarks kids are going to get to experience real hockey here we have city parks with groomed rinks in them we have the Rideau canal wait til they try that out they'll love it ottawas the best city in canada because it's a government town we get it a little better than the rest of the country if ullmark talks to Daniel alfredsson he'll tell him it's a great place that's why Alfie stayed here after his retirement he knows the score so glad alfies still a coach want him to win a Stanley cup with ottawa even if it's as a coach for the team he deserves it he was the best senator ever GO SENS GO!!!!!

Excellent breakdown and analysis. As a die-hard Sens fans it’s not often we get to see balanced coverage on the Sens. Well done.
Ottawa has a reputation as being the town that fun forgot but that's only partly true. A young player may not find Ottawa as exciting as other cities but players with young children might find it perfect. Most of the "fun" here is family oriented and the educational system here is second to none.
We have everything here that other cities have but the best thing is we're a government town we get it a little better here like clean drinking water we have the most technically advanced water filtration system in the world greens creek and in total two plants in ottawa the other one in Britannia Beach area we have three rivers running into ottawa the ottawa the Rideau and the Gatineau you can't get better drinking water anywhere ive lived here all my life ive never gotten sick from the water here I don't buy bottled water it's not needed we at one time had 23 museums in the national capital region we have cylipso fun park just out of town in limoges we have lots of good spots to visit on the quebec side as well luskville drag way ,circ du sole in hull the nicest place both winter and summer is Mont tremblant the summer it's packed you walk up to the gondolas and half way up is a ice cream spot that's the best reason to make the trip you can rent chalets stay the weekend for as long as you'd like Montreal a skip and jump away you have to do Montreal especially go to San pietro bakery on jean talon blvd. And get the slab Italian pizza now you're living life the strip clubs in Montreal fantastic three floors of strippers lol! He's going to love it here oh and so many places to hunt and fish we're so close to cottage country calabogie, constants bay all down #7 highway and quebec side smart guy getting a house in west borrow west is best in ottawa

The fact all these guys that the Sens signed are all " Stanley cup champions"... ( Lots of life in them as well). I think were gonna see some exciting hockey for the next long while.
A lot is going to depend on the health of Norris and Chabot.
Sens finally get a real quality goalie. Should prove to be a huge difference. If Sens can stay relatively injury free, no reason why they can't make playoffs. I like their playoff chances more than Detroit or Buffalo. Sens might be the surprise team in the Atlantic, but it's imperative they get off to a good start. They've been notorious for slow starts for years now.
A big year for the future of the sens. We have our young core locked down but if they don’t seem to be enough we may have to do a big re-tool to see if we can push it all the way
Do you know why the sens have been in the basement forever well just like Toronto has the Ballard curse we too have the muckler curse we had gotten rid of our g.m too make the coach i.e Brian Murray his replacement. John muckler being instrumental in building the 5 cup winning oilers with Gretzky he was a smart good guy who knew what he was doing he just needed a good goalie who wouldn't choke in the shootouts brain Murray in the two seasons he coached he was awesome winning over 50 games both seasons then they made him g m and we've had too live with the muckler curse ever since the team we had at the time if the dominator wouldn't have gotten hurt and did his job right we were a Stanley cup team g.m's come and go but there'll never be one as smart as muckler was. Ottawa has gotten rid of so many players who've went on to win cups with other teams it's sickening, this our season our year we're going to the playoffs GO SENS GO!!!!!! LETS FUGGIN GO!!!!!! BOYS!!!!!

I'm stoked for the new season we have a new team new coach and goalie and players coming off the injured list things are looking positive for a playoff berth this season the dream is meet Toronto in the first round and take them out hate the thought of taking out another Canadian team but its Toronto so who cares hahahahahaha 😀 😎 👍
We've always just needed a stellar goalie we got close with dominik hasek but he went and got hurt in the Olympics the other goalies where good but not in the shoot out we had the best team we just needed a good goalie and we got him the dominator but shit happens and we stayed in the basement ever since coming up for light twice since then is ullmark our savior? We beat good teams last year vegas, Boston etc etc, we're not totally crappy with this new jolt to the team we should be getting up and running like a scared horse I predict we make the playoffs this and all the moves made to make this a better team will pay off with a playoff berth we were pretty close last season if we couldve just had a couple more months hahahahahaha 😅😂😅😊

Years of trading away 1st round draft picks for expensive Americans who didn't want to be here in order to push Ottawa into the playoff contender category never worked and not only is Ottawa a mediocre team at best...but the cupboard is empty. They traded away another one during the draft. Why? Ottawa is 4 years away from even being considered as a threat to challenge for the Stanley Cup. They could have just focused on a proper rebuild...maybe trading away Chabot for a 1st rounder. When they did trade away some older players the return was less than expected. Oh well. Debrincat and Chychrun should never have been sens. Chabot's been needing a good RD pair ever since demelo left and now he gets jensen which is a much better partner for him than chychrun, solidify the bottom 6 with perron, amadio, gregor.
+ having Ostapchuk, Boucher*, Halliday, Hamara, Yakemchuk isn't all that bad of a pool considering we've got like 4 22 year old forwards in the top 9 already
100%. Instead of one season of Debrincat & Chychrun, they could have, say, Benson & Mintyukov... Dorion made these trades to keep his job but failed and now it's hurting the team long term.
Although I do agree that we didn't let the rebuild go long enough, the moves Staios made this off season were perfect for what we needed

A big trade Norris Forsberg,Zub,Ostapchuk, Tyler Boucher for Anderson, Huberdeau,anddAnthony Mantha.I have my flack jacket on.There is also Joni Jurmo.If you think Tyler Klevin would go to Calgary..Joni Jurmo is a 6'3" 200 pound puck moving defencemen,who is an excellent skater.He would fit as a 3rd liner.

In my mind we suffered from poor decisions by Dorion … Boucher a first round pick at 10th, Debrincat, the debacle with Duchene, the Korpisalo acquisition, selecting the very fragile Norris, at pick that’s an American (they simply do not want to play in Canada, unless you overpay) (Auston Matthews) and I believe it will take years to recover from many bad decisions. IMO
norris was part of the karlsson trade.
Dorian will go down as one of the worst gms in nhl history
IMO the Sens will reach their pinnacle in this rebuild this season. If they remain injury free, relatively, they will make the playoffs. Norris is the key.
Their prospect shelves are limited to solid depth players, with Yakemchuck being the only guy with top lineup potential, they do have depth guys that will supplement the roster. Ottawa is not attractive to free agents, taxes are high so they can't rely on that method to improve their roster either.
Unless they surprise, the top guys will read their tea leaves and start leaving as the future is not that bright. Their careers are short so why not head south for money and playoffs.

What about the elephant in the room? The new French Canadian owner is bitter for overpaying and was mislead about the new arena deal which is again is not favorable to him. I see him using the threat of moving the franchise to Quebec City. Where he can get free rent for 20 years. The province has too step up.

This is a wild imagination. It’s not leaving Ottawa anytime soon or in the next decade.
You just can’t pack up and leave a city. The other owners need to see the benefits of the team moving and require a certain number agreeing along with Bettman. Although people have beef with Bettman, he’s tried to keep the Canadian teams in Canada the best he could. Winnipeg lost a team but got a team back. Quebec City is the only loss right now…that’s not too bad.
Bottom line, it’s not that easy to just move and Andlouer has no intention moving.
I seem to recall that part of the agreement was that the team could not be moved.
