It's sad when I think how many people are lonely and so much so that they've turned anti-social and lost the ability to properly engage with others. They come at you wanting to talk and they just don't take your time or willingness into consideration. I've experienced it too. I think as a species we've kind of forgotten how to create proper communities and sustain them. Thanks Sam, I enjoyed listening to your stories :) Hope you are well and keep going on fabulous little vacations that you can then tell us about!
@@leahs7024 That's a very good point. I don't know why this new guy doesn't (want to) have friends because he's extremely talkative and pleasant, not in a way that makes ME want to be his friend, but that's just me, it doesn't mean that he's not nice. And don't get me wrong: I think it's beautiful that people want to live in a house share where they can become friends with their housemates. What I don't appreciate is when these people don't read the room and don't try to understand and then respect other people's wishes. To every person that comes to view our empty rooms I say that I can't offer friendship simply because I don't have time, and I make it very clear. Obviously, I'm happy to be friendly, but if I'm eating in the kitchen at 1am after I've done a show, I'd like my housemate to at least check my body language to see if I want to talk for an hour (which I don't 😜). But he just kept going and going. But to be honest, him not seeing it is not what really bothered me. When I realised I had to be much clearer about when I'm willing to talk and when I'm not, I did make it clearer by pulling away, not by being rude or anything like that, and I was OK with having to do that. What I don't understand is why he (and the guy before) didn't simply accept it as a fact of life that I wasn't interested in that way, but they took offence and, as a result sought revenge. That is just beyond me 😱 But hey, we've reached some kind of good balance now and I just hope things don't change any time soon 💪 And don't you worru: you'll be hearing all about my little holidays soon!
Oh, you poor thing! I sometimes didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I think ppl come to you and want to make friends with you just bc you are very likeble.😊 The best option is when a group of actual friends is able to find a place to live, but of course is a rare case. Thx for your video.
@@D.C.1 These guys have been a rollercoaster of emotions for me, too 😜 I appreciate they want to be friends, but when they see that it's not happening, they should just accept it and move on, not take offence and seek revenge. They are both in their 40's!!! But as I said, the guy that verbally assaulted me clearly had issues and I'm not sure how much he was in control (and I haven't mentioned some other absurd and stupid things he did and said to the landlord 🤣), but hey, he's gone now and, luckily, we seem to have reached a good level of normality with the new guy 💪
I love your authenticity Sam! You remind me a lot of myself in that regard: big hearted, honest with diplomacy, and no airs to put on. I really enjoy your stories and thoughts. Keep doin what you're doin :)
620 is a steal for London. I feel for you on the housemate front though. My last place (before getting priced out of living in London) I lived in a beautiful place with a garden in north London but I had a housemate who would not stop talking about all the latest covid conspiracies, saying viruses aren't real and that it's 5G towers etc, and he was a nurse!
Absolutely! When I tell people I pay that little for such a large room, you should see their faces! 😜 Oh, don't get me started on covid! I left out a lot of the things the housemate that verbally assaulted me did and said, but his theories on covid were absolutely insane! Shame you had to move out of London 😔 where do you live now?
I love watching your videos! Watching from Mallorca 🇪🇸
