    @garmin - I have been really struggling to find out information regarding the T2 transmitter. I really want to purchase one of these watches with a couple of transmitters, but a little worried about the audible noise that was reported on the T1 transmitters. I hear a very quick mention of 'reduced audible noise' in this video, but please can you confirm this is the case and if you are able to quantify or provide any more information about this reduction?

    How does it function as a smartwatch for other outdoorsman activities?
    Use it for backpacking after the dive trip?

      Thank you for your question. Yes, the Descent Mk3 series has a host of features for activities other than diving. In fact, it has all the same outdoor activities and features as the fenix 7 series. The following link will take you to the Descent Mk3 specs page where you can see all the features that it has. I hope this helps.

    Hi, why did the Mk3 get the Gen 4 Heart Rate sensor instead of the newer Gen 5 ?

    • @MultiDeathdude
      @MultiDeathdude 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      On top of that why is there no solar component?

    • @freediverhd
      @freediverhd 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ill try answer this. But its because the dive garmins are always based on the previous verion of the watch. So this is based on fenix7 / epix gen 2. And the new HR stuff is on the fenix 7 pro and epix pro lines. Unfortunantly product has been like this since the Descent Mk1, which was based on the Fenix 5.

    • @freediverhd
      @freediverhd 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MultiDeathdude Because the solar doesnt make any meaningful impact on amoled watches, so epix gen 2, epix pro, and descent mk3i wont have solar. I do wish the descent was based on the Fenix 7 so we could get solar...

    Great!! Do you perhaps know if the MK3 can be updated for the messaging feature? Or is it exclusive for the MK3i?

    • @hernancortes6575
      @hernancortes6575 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The “i” stands for integrated, which means air integration. The transmitter is what’s capable of sending the message, through their sonar technology. MK3 is not capable of messaging nor will it be in the future. If you want all available features I recommend buying the MK3i

    Looks like some great upgrades but I have a couple of questions, I’ve read the manual but cant find the answer. 1) Can I set the depth of my last stop when deco’ diving - 3m or 6m? 3) It mentions the colour of the flashlight, is it red (like on the Fenix) or green (as per the Tactix)? 3) Can I see my TTS (time to surface) and GTR (gas time remaining) on the same screen - this is something I use a lot when diving a single nitrox gas, I can go into limited decompression and have the gas to cope with it. Thanks.

    • @GarminRetailTraining
      @GarminRetailTraining  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Those are all very good questions, thank you.
      1) You can adjust deco within the "Creating a Decompression Plan" at the following link: www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-9183E86B-2399-4CFC-AB50-EAFC6D6ED326/EN-US/GUID-7187F580-420E-457F-9C59-85F3D5AEB67B.html.
      2) It is RED
      3) We have data fields for Air time remaining (ATR) as well as Time to Surface (TTS), but NOT on the same screen.

    I own this model, previously I had Fenix7, Fenix6, etc.
    I wanted to write that the watch at this point has many functions poorly optimized
    Meni scrolling causes visible clipping
    The wake-up gesture has a considerable delay
    There are only 4 levels of screen brightness settings
    Some functions lock settings and you have to restart the watch
    Changing data screen settings from the phone resets the device
    For a watch for this much money I feel a bit cheated :(

      @@ahmedmahomedExactly. They updated what divers care about. Flashlight integration and quieter transmitter are huge upgrades. 10 days is still a lot. That’s more than anything else. Solar doesn’t really help that much on the Fenix platform. I notice it didn’t help my Fenix 7x Pro solar much.

      What do you expect? This is an AMOLED display, of course it will require more power than the transreflective LCDs of the older models.
      The AMOLED display is the selling point that makes them finally interesting for me. (especially for diving)
      Solar charging for Smart Watches is a marketing joke anyway, too little surface on a smart watch to improve battery life significantly. (even on low-power devices like the Descent G1)

    I would like to state that I am very unhappy that in the Mk3 series, there is no longer a part on the left side of the diving screen, such as an analog needle, that shows the amount of nitrogen in the tissues, in the Mk2 and Mk1 series. As a diving professional, this feature was an indicator that we especially followed to end the dive safely before ending the dive, and I am sorry to say again that it is no longer available. We are waiting for a statement from the authorities.

    • @GarminRetailTraining
      @GarminRetailTraining  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Thank you for your comment. It sounds like you are referring to the Nitrogen Tissue Load gauge. The same data layouts available on the M2i are available on the Mk3, but the Mk3 defaults to having "big number mode" turned on. In big numbers mode the N2 Tissue Load gauge is not on by default. If you want more data and gauges and/or to see the N2 Tissue Load gauge, simply turn off the big numbers mode under Diver Setup > Display Settings. If you need further assistance, please reach out to our Product Support team at 800-800-1020 or support.garmin.com. They will be happy to assist. I hope this helps.
