How to upholster a dining chair in leather (no pleats no wrinkles)

Sometimes a car upholsterer has to enter into the furniture field when necessary. This time I want to share with my followers one way of approaching some dining room chairs.
To do the wrapping I am using automotive top finished leather material. As you can see I have resorted to some special techniques we already have shown in previous videos.
The pattern is plain, no sewings, no pleats at all.
I hope you find some inspiration to perform your own upholstery projects!

It gives me ideas about re-covering my mothers antique kitchen table chairs. A neighbor and friend of the family re-covered them about 35 years ago but I've noticed for a few years that they're looking not too good. Grandchildren can be messy.

Does stretching the material that much take the comfort out of the seat? Like making the foam it self more compressed down?
Yes, you are right. A softer and more pliable leather would help to keep the seat more comfortable.
Love your videos. I have a question: some car interiors have that plated wrinkle look. How do you recreate that look. The 90’s Camaro have the wrinkle look in the leather. I want the same look in mine when I get around to redoing it.

The stretching is done gradually. I first secure the 4 corners, next i have to disassemble one by one to re-stretch it again and again until getting the desired shape.

Hi, yes you can actually use any email just need to be sure it is linked to youtube. A linked one is the same email to log into youtube as usual.
