All I ever did was play video games and do college work anyway before the quarantine. I'm not effected by the quarantine at all, and if anything, my stress has decreased since I have all this extra time to focus on the things I actually like. Since I'm on a game development course, I've been able to work all day and night on my FMP and when I don't feel like it, I just play games or draw to pass the time.

You are right, this can be a time to prosper, I work at an art outsourcing company and we are even starting to hire freelancers to be able to handle the workload.

Thank you for doing all the encouraging informative advice videos,Trent. Your tutorials and all your great videos about the everyday life and work routines of freelancers have a huge impact on my own work ethic and career. Especially the mentioned video about savings and financial organization shaped my life style from that point on. Everything I experienced as a trainee in several jobs before this time feels like a destructive and hindering slowdown in comparison. It was a refreshing and relieving turnaround after I finally listened to my own heart and focused on the refinement of my actual skills.
I'm so glad that I am not strongly affected by the crisis since I have very loyal regular clients who are still able to support me currently. Unfortunately some of my regular clients had to put their projects on hold due to the uncertainty of their unsteady situation while some others are unexpectedly thriving on their delivery business (one of my collaborators is a merchandise producer who told me that there is currently an increasing demand of his bandanas and scarves). The most important takeaway for me is that it was a good decision to assure multiple financial pillars (as you also once recommended in your podcast) and even small projects can save your ass in long term during times like these.

Hey Trent ! Love your content as usual
As you mentioned you try to match the need of your audience ! Well I need something from you lol : do you think that you could make a podcast edition of the videos ? It’d be super cool to have just the audio (to listen like during car rides and stuff). When it’s not tutorial videos I’d really like to have the opportunity to listen to the audio only !
Kinda like FZD Cinema podcast ?
    Anyway if you can’t It’s ok !
Thanks for the videos again 🤝

Awesome message and so true! I’ve been a freelance artist since high school because making art for others was the only thing I could do well and get paid for consistently. The first thing I had to do while pursuing my dream job was diversify my products and services in order to survive and pay the bills. I learned by making a million mistakes and since I changed my priorities from self serving to saving money, I am not affected by this weird time and can actually invest my energy on expanding my portfolio and trying all the things I’ve not had time to do with my art. Love your channel and conventional, honest content!

I had 2 companies interview me just when the lock down was beginning. They both wanted me to move to other parts of the country, remote wasn't as option. I really think Corona played a heavy hand in me losing those opportunities. Personally, this whole situation has taken the wind right out of my sails and it's been hard to even make art for myself...

I actually heard the argument that once lockdown will be off, people will play less video games ( compared to right now ) because their life was too saturated with that for months. They will try to find a different source of entertainment that they haven’t had in a while.

My biggest point of insecurity ragarding my pursuit of becoming a concept artist is my age. I remember being told that it is weird when a junior concept artist is older then the senior and that it is a dynamic which should be avoided. Nevertheless it rather seems to be an issue when working in-house. Is being 31 too old to get my foot in the door?

I've started my journey into taking art seriously, about 8 weeks into training. Self-training that is. Two questions. When I buy your courses, when I have enough money. Which is the best order to take them in to progress from a beginner to a professional. And question number two, are you hiring? I am desperate to be a solid artist, I will draw my ass off for you. Even if I have to wait until I'm good enough for your team. Please give it some thought.
Keep up the amazing videos, very inspiring and helpful!

I bought the pit :Infinity for 9 dollars...NINE dollars, how many copies does an indie company needs to sell to stay afloat, that game to me is worth at least double that price, maybe because as a developer i know how hard it is to make a game...dunno, it's hard.
