Loud Guns: "So please keep in mind, this is not a guide, only a test!" Me: "I'm FULLY expecting this to be AT LEAST 4x as good as most videos on the topic CLAIMING to be a guide." Oh, shocker, I was completely correct, Loud Guns killing it as per... 😀
I legit was watching some of your videos just a while ago and when I seen this one, I instantly clicked on it. I really like the way you do your videos and I never get tired of watching them. I will rewatch some things just because it's relaxing and well done. I just started watching your channel about two months ago, around the time I started playing SC. Keep it up!
Good video Loud. As someone who has been working the whole PTU period so far this is the head start i needed to get into the testing. Salvage looks fun and gives further hope for repair
The Vulture is fantastic and I really like the idea of salvage (more than mining), but I'm a bit disappointed that hull scraping isn't a little more challenging. Mining isn't exactly hard once you've practiced a bit, but at least there's a bit of a risk there if you don't pay attention. With hull scraping it seems like you just wave your lasers around until you're done, and you don't have to think about it at all. I guess maybe some people like that, where you don't have to think and it's kind of tranquil and meditative, but personally I'd rather have something where I have to concentrate a bit to get it right and not screw something up.
Great salvage guide, I've been looking forward to this coming out since I love all your mining videos. Have you checked if there is anything worth scavenging on board the wrecked ships? Seems like a great opportunity for some fps exploration gameplay.
Thanks mate! Yep I cracked open a few to check but nothing - the doors etc all work so it doesn’t seem like that much work to add in a bit of cargo to spice things up a little.
@@LoudGuns yeah, long term I'm hopping you can pull cargo and modules out of a wreck, depending on how damaged it is. Really looking forward to the variety of gameplay a salvage op can represent.
Now that the Reclaimer is actually working, it makes me wonder when CIG is going to gold pass the MOLE - remote turrets make so much more sense in the 30th century than sliding down ladder to enter a manned turret…
Indeed- I don’t mind manning the central turret but it could be so much better if the side turrets were remote and controlled from the bridge. Would save a significant ant amount of space too…almost a roc sized amount of space??
I really like the salvage gameplay. That being said i hate that the vulture doesnt have an automaed robot in the back that sort the cargo into the grid and stops when the grid is full so you can do some manually to make a lil extra buck. Would imagine they would have something like this in the future to make your life easier and not giving you ladder ptsd at some point.
@@vamperic yeah lets go back 2000 years to the stone age where you have to do all by yourself.... lets destroy the prospector and all mining ships too. after you done with the rock you have to fly out and manually change the way the ore goes to the containers. you honestly belive a civilisation that is literally flying around the universe is so undergeared that they dont have robots to move stuff? we literally got the tech right now. i've seen it. and its not for the lazy they just add one tedious step to waste your time.
Yeah power washing is a lot of fun. I do wish that the conveyor belt was a bit longer so it wasn't every 2 boxes we had to do it. Also can we buy RMC at the scrap yard and sell at the TDD? Seems like that should be a nice little trade route.
20:14 NOT true at all, comparison has been already done, crates produced/time is much more efficient when done on a "solo" Reclaimer than a "solo" Volture, simply because lasers are much much more faster, filling the bars super quick, moreover you produce 4 crates (Reclaimer) instead of only 2 (Volture) before the resetting (go back and forth); this largely compensates the more ground you need to cover and in the end making all counts a reclaimer is more than 2 times profitable than a volture....about enjoyability they have the same boring steps to make in solo; while the multicrew situations always offer a better experience, even with the smaller Volture, but that's understood.
Hey man, think you maybe misunderstood what I said. I said that one reclaimer with 4 crew would probably be more profitable than 4 vultures with 4 crew. I also can’t help but think that soloing a reclaimer you’re just a pirates dream.
@@LoudGuns No I have understood that, that's granted, what I'm telling you it's that is NOT true that a SOLO Reclaimer is less profitable than a SOLO Volture as you were saying in the vid, it's the opposite, within the same time you make double crates with a reclaimer, both in solo
@@DANNYtheBOY11 hmmm I’m surprised - will definitely give it a go just for science. Still my point on everything you’ve made going down the drain as soon as you meet a pirate stands though as does the tedium of all that running through the ship. You’re better off in a vulture solo imo.
Following the drake on drake thought, i'd love to see a gang of vultures filling up an entire caterpillar cargo bay for testing!
Yeah a cat surrounded by a fleet of vultures would be ultimate Drake-age! 😂
As usual, good no-nonsense "guide", this time for early days Salvaging, very informative, thanks!
Haha cheers Grandt - glad I kept it nonsense free, guides covering 2 ships are always tricky to stitch together!
You're my nr.1 go-to guy for mining videos so I've been anticipating and looking forward to your full take on salvage!
Yeah sorry life got in the way a little bit, at which point I thought it was best to go as comprehensive as I could!
@@LoudGuns dw life comes first
Thank you for another great video. Very logical and analytical. I really enjoy your videos and find them very informative!
Thank you very detailed video, helped me understand the differences of the different lasers.

Yeah the repair with the multi tool is great too, and I love the visual effects of a patched up ship.
I always learn something from your videos, thanks again!
Glad they help mate!
Another detailed video. Thanks Loud.
Happy Birthday and a Happy new year to my favourite TH-camr
You may want to review "create" tab at the ejector display. They added multi tool and attachment there.
Nice - yeah I think they put that bit in just as I was editing 😂 this is why a proper guide has to wait until everything settles down
Awesome video!! Welcome back to the verse!!
Cheers mate!
I wish the Prospector had a front loading ( full rotating seat )!! Love this in my Hull A.
Yeah that would be sweet - hopefully some of the older ships will catch up in gold pass.
Like the therapeutic pressure washer simulator
thank you for another enjoyable video to watch.
Cheers Kevin - glad you liked it!
Vulture looks amazing!
I honestly didn’t think I’d like it as much as I do!

Yeah, it’s a fun mechanic the first 3 times 😂 That said I just view it as a 2 person ship, just wishing it had a drop seat and a bunk bed!

II had zero interest in salvage...But after watching these video's! I might bump salvage up the list ( mining, salvage, cargo hauling )
Nice! My honest recommendation is to try out everything!
can you do a vid on the cargo??
I’ve got one (half) prep’d to make the most of the new mechanics
@@LoudGuns i eagarly await your video lord., i mean loud
How many wrecks it take to fill a cat
It would be really cool for people that dont have a vulture to have the option to buy it ingame in 3.18 but I think that isnt going to happen
I agree with you on both accounts - would be great but unlikely. On the plus side there’s a lot of reclaimer owners out there that need 4 crew mates.
