Sophia was on a roll, this episode: Rose: 'Ned was, sort of the town idiot.' Sophia: 'when? on your days of?' Dorothy: 'I would kill Gloria, if she ever wrote, about my sexual escapades.' Sophia: 'you'd kill your sister, over a pamphlet?'😂🤣
The pamphlet line Mrs Doolittle story were a couple of my favorite parts of the episode and i loved seeing Marian Mercer who played Magda in another type of role that i was used to seeing her in
I have watched Alexxa's reaction to this episode 3 times, and every time it makes me laugh out loud. This is definitely one of my Top 10 episodes of The Golden Girls!
This episode is special to me but not because of the message or the jokes or content. Back in highschool, I recorded clips from this episode on my Motorola Razor phone because I had recorded this episode off of the TV and I would play the clips for my friends at school. The ones I had I can remember are "at least now when I wake up in the middle of the night screaming I'll have a reason" "you'd kill your sister over a pamphlet?" "I turned her over to secret police" and of course "I earned that A in history!" Y'know, this episode also is dated because there is no Czechoslovakia anymore. It's now the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Fun fact for ya.
We are fast approaching one of my favorite episodes of the series (it's in season 6). I won't yet say which one, but I'm sure you will know it, when you see it.
I feel like it was a little out of character for the girls - or at very least Dorothy - not to check Blanche's ego or at the very least suggest that she might have been overreacting and that the Vixen St. James book could be based on someone other than herself (or that it could have been a composite character). As it is they just go along with it which again seems OOC
@@youngkc866 That last part was a typo on my part that I think confused people - all I meant was that Blanche's ego gets regularly checked by Dorothy as a punchline but in this episode they just let her carry on without questioning her at all when the passage she read as proof was pretty clearly an ego trip as her sister pointed out
@@ladylin1992 No I was talking about the show's writing - Sophia's zingers were the only thing that kept this one afloat otherwise this entire premise is ridiculours

Sophia singing 'That's Amore' without realising it and thinking it's the radio..hilarious! 😂

Blanche Charmaine Tales Dorothy Magda Visit
Blanche was not happy at all
