Even after Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Avengers Endgame that statement still holds true. Because with a movie like endgame it require 22 movies of buildup. Although again Cameron did break his own record with avatar. I was 9 and still remember the hype when that was released. So Titanic and Avatar are the unique mark on cinema history

But yeah after that he has not made a single bad movie and Aliens is in my opinion one of the best movies ever made. A near flawless action film that managed to top the masterpiece Alien, which shouldn't be possible.

It's been over 20 years and Titanic is still the best film I have ever watched. It is such a masterpiece in all kinds of ways and Kate and Leonardo are truly outstanding actors!
About the board, I am really upset and heartbroken everytime Jack dies and it always makes me cry, no matter how many times I've watched it. But James is right, that's just how the film ends, period. It's Titanic after all. Btw, it's not about fitting on the board, it's about their weight, the board would sink if there were both of them.

One of the benefits of being a filmmaker are those moments where you know something else needs to happen because the scene is requesting it, usually a crescendo moment of action or a line. The reason for this is the scene is a story in and of itself so it must have a finality. Under pressure when you know it must happen, and you find it, you experience such gratification, its something you just can't experience any other way. This happened on Pirates, Depp came up with "Bring me the horizon". The writer was pissed he hadn't thought of it.

The point is she had to keep her core above the water or else freeze. His sacrifice was, indeed, needed not only from a thematic standpoint, but because they did their job and used a float large enough to keep her core above water level but not large enough to do the same for two people.

Maybe the orchestrial movie soundtrack was crucial for the success of Titanic...? The same with Avatar... James Horners music in James Cameron-movies is sooo important!
But James Horner is not living anymore!
I'm curious how this will work out for the new Avatar movies... I think this is the biggest loss for all the future James Cameron movies. James Horners soundtracks just fitted so well to James Camerons visual language in his movies.

Titanic is my favorite movie of all time, as well as my favorite James Cameron movie. I’ve been watching it on the regular since early 2010 and each time I feel like I’m watching it for the very first time. For me, the two reasons as to why titanic did so well are simplicity and relatability. The plot is not complex at all, it’s historically rich, and almost everything that every character in every plot line shows in the movie are all things that we want to do in real life.

Happy Birthday James Cameron. Your a great director. I'm glad u made The Terminator. Terminator 2 Judgement Day. 5 Genisys. 6 Dark Fate. Avatar. True Lies. Alita Battle Angel and Aliens. I love Aliens. That movie remind of Resident Evil and Dead Space. Dead Space, a game, dead alien zombies, Necromorphs. Aliens r the Xenomorphs. Xenomorphs, Necromorphs. Sounds the same. They're the same, but different. Still. I seriously all Terminator and Alien movies. True Lies. Avatar and Alita Battle Angel is awesome. Your work is impressive. Titanic and Avatar is kind of romantic! I never seen Titanic, I was 1 or 2 years old... and maybe I did watch Titanic 12 or 14. Theoretically. That was sad, when Titanic sink. That ship was bigger. Ship of dreams. More like a slay ship. It is. When it was sinking, those people were going crazy. It reminds when I play Dead Space. People killing each other, kill themselves and... u know the rest!!! Is it the same, but it's complicated! Titanic is fucking romantic, love that movie. May the Peace be with u James Cameron. Thanks to Mr. Plinkett's hilarious Avatar review I can't hear "I'M THE KING OF THE WORLD!!!" (3:10) without seeing that image of James Cameron whooping over his Oscar (4:15)
_"Avatar tells the story of Dances with Wolves in space in order to further a director's already vast ego..."_
"Just wait till the Oscars. I'll show you how it's done." indeed.

Love James Cameron! I agree too, who cares really if Jack could have gotten on the board with Rose and they both lived. Just live in the moment and go with it. He wasn't thinking about himself. He cared WAY more about her living than himself. AND THAT WAS THE POINT! She needed to live not him!

The truth is that even the character played by Kate would have not survived being on the raft because our clothes were soaking wet. At a air temperature of 30 degrees or less, hypothermia would have killed her in less than 30 minutes and it took 2 hours for the rescue boat Carpathia to get there after the titanic sank.

He's confident, but backs it up with results, and talks from a position of actual knowledge and experience after years of working in the trenches, problem solving on the fly. What I find far more intolerable are arrogant academics or theorists who lecture you on what to do or how to think without much real world practical skill or talent.

Who do you think is the better director and had better classics James Cameron or Steven Spielberg ?!?
I won't say more because I think Steven Spielberg had more classics just because off rip I can think about like 20 movies of his that are classics more then half are kids movies while like 33 maybe 40% of his other movies are for adults!
It's close cus James Cameron has had some legendary top 50 all time great as movie classics Plus I can think of 3 of his movies that made over a billion dollars while they was in theaters & I'm pretty sure that's just in America if not the whole world either way that's still a huge accomplishment for a 1 movie to bring that much money in!
