at 2:03 you say the ammeter is in series. But isn't it parallel?

Nope, it's in series with the others because if current flows through the resistors, it HAS to throw through the ammeter as well. This video explains series v parallel in more detail th-cam.com/video/dlSPpmAwT9U/w-d-xo.html
