I love my digitakt so much. That’s all I can add to this conversation. Liam is one of the artists that truly unlocked the device for me - among others like Ivar Tryti
I like to use the CitizenDJ sample libraries for interesting sample flips (as the samples are in the public domain/expired copyright). I often process them first in digichain before moving to the digitakt.
One thing worth mentioning about how Digitakt converts stereo samples to mono. Digitakt just takes the left stereo channel and thats it. Sometimes it sounds weird. So the safe/paranoid option is mixdown to mono in an audio editor. For one shot drum or synth samples its not necessary, but with full mixed tracks it could be worth trying.
Always in the loop ! .. thanks for unraveling the many knots that come with figuring out a new set up ... cheers to easy ... breezy .. along with your catchy beats ! ..

Semi-related: What are similarly priced/classed grooveboxes to the Digitakt? I assume Akai-MPC One & maybe the Polyend- Play Plus are in there. (Edit: Ah. I see the Oxi-One was compared to it. Mainly the seq.)
Circuit Rhythm. It does everything the digitakt does (bar the 8 midi tracks but they're useless anyway cos of the hopelessly clunky sequencing), just presented in a sensible logical easy to understand coherent package without the "UI designed by a moron with a head injury" that all the Elektron boxes have. And does it for half the price too.
Yo that random pattern at 6:15 was sick! Guess you still got the recording if you need to get it back. Btw, how do you feel the oxi is a better sequencer? Big thing on the Elektron boxes are the parameter locks right, so how does that work on an external sequencer?

WHY BOTHER COMMENTING NEGATIVE STUFF? I often see Liam getting these stupid comments. I've learned A LOT from his videos. He is inviting and focusing on the music creation and is really good for the community. So what that this update came a long time ago. Somebody have missed it. And somebody is picking up the Digitakt today. And will find this video inspiring and informative. Stop spreading negativity!
There's not a video out there on the Digitakt I've not watched, I don't know why I even get excited to see new ones anymore, there's really nothing left to see now... This is just an advertisement. If someone only just bought it and found this useful fair enough but it's unnecessary content at best literally one small piece of information which could have been explained in ten seconds, spread out into a whole video.
@@samhughes3527yes because the only purpose of art is so that you, who apparently watches every digitakt video, can learn new information. What a strange thing to ask if a creator. Maybe it's just fun to see someone else's workflow and see what they create? Or is music just about advertising synth products to you specifically?
Hi Liam! Just dropping a quick message to let you know that I've sent you an email regarding a possible partnership. Take your time to go through them, and I look forward to hearing from you!
Because Tracklib just changed their model and the quality / vibe of their samples is not something you’ll find on loop cloud (or splice) - the sound of Tracklib contributed to how this flip turned out
@@LiamKillenYou’re right. For people in the industry, quickly amassing large sound libraries is a means to an end. Payday. Others who love sample-based production as an art, find that digging, chopping and discovering one’s own library is 1/2 the fun of the process. So if you approach it as a task, vs. a passion, it makes sense to just buy samples. Not my style.

Interesting - but now we have the Digitakt 2 !

No pun intended lolol cheers
I cannot wait for Tonverk to be revealed so I can finally get an even cheaper second hand digitakt, such a good instrument :) nice vid and beats
Tonverk … I wish I knew what that was lol
What is Tonverk?

Definitely looking forward to getting your take on the new box
Cat’s out the bag lol - so many slip ups on Elektron’s part
It was quite funny to watch! Looks like a great update though..
Dreamy house track

Maybe even the sp 404 mk2 might be in the mix.
It really all depends though on the approach you’re going for.

Learned something new today. Presume the feature is relatively similar on the Dii, are there any nuances in how they might differ?
For the most part, yeah, it's quite similar.
So how can you integrate the oxi with the digitakt, but use the oxi as the masterclock? Will the oxi trigger patterns on the digitakt?
Yes! There’s a multi track sequencer which works great with it
I just bought a digitakt to mess around like this. Great video
I'm going to be using it A LOT for sample flips like this now.
@@LiamKillen I’ve been watching the sp404 with digitakt videos using them together. It’s what I’m messing around with at home.

Yeah they both have their advantages- I might do a comparison one day because it’s a whole can of worms
Been wanting a digitakt but they seem to be going out of stock fingers crossed 🤞 for a Digi mk2 soon
We’ll seeeee!
Hi Liam, just a question, could the Rytm MKII achieve the same thing as the Digitakt in terms of getting in samples and creating a track?
I’ve never owned the rytm so I wouldn’t be able to answer this one accurately!
i mean the update came like a year ago but it’s nice that You discovered it and gave us 3 minutes tracklib commercial

Loopcloud is the sample library with the official Digitakt integration - why not talk about that rather than Tracklib or Splice?
Because Tracklib just changed their model and the quality / vibe of their samples is not something you’ll find on loop cloud (or splice) - the sound of Tracklib contributed to how this flip turned out
Haha! Kinda sounds like shit

Sorry, paying for samples is just embarrassing
Tell that to the entire music production industry lol
