Sure thing. I used 1 oz of gloss medium to 3oz paint and about 3 oz of Floetrol. Then I added more paint to get the color back to the original since Floetrol drastically lightens up the paint color. Then I added a little water to get the then consistency. When I pull my stick out of the paint, it runs off the stick and sinks right back into itself. Barely makes a mound.

I'm self taught and then i attended some classes taught by some of my favorite artists. You're going to love this art form. Just keep in mind things are easy to master. Open cup is one of my favorites. You gave me some great ideas. Is all your paints the same consistency including the black?
Thank you so much. Yes, in fluid art, you want all your paints to be as close as possible in a pour. If your paints are different consistencies then your paint is going to tilt in an uneven movement.
I absolutely love it. Do you worry about leaving too much paint on the canvas with all the extra you put on?
thank you Kathy. I tilted enough off that i wasn't worried too much. It dried great. I'm going to put a clear coat on it and i'll show it in my video tomorrow. :)
Great vid and Pic!...When I do pours I never seem to get big cells like yours :( Heavens knows what I am doing wrong lol)
The cells open up as you tilt so the important thing is to not tilt too fast and you have to pay attention how the cells are opening and determine when you want to stop and switch direction of your tilt.

This is absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful composition and I love the colours very much. I'm new to fluid art but hope to try this technique on a large canvas one day. May I ask, once your painting is touch dry, how long do you leave it before varnishing?

Love this painting ! I have been struggling to get my open cup galaxy pour to have to right consistency. Can you share your paint : pouring medium : water ratio’s please . Your paintings all are awesome
I tend to keep my paints on the thin side with an open cup pour. I start off with 2 oz of gloss medium, 5 oz of paint and then i add water to thin it down to the consistency just thicker than a dutch pour.
