As a side note, Sauerbraten was often used with less expensive meat, so you can find traditional recipes with lamb, veal and -- yes -- where I come from the traditional way to do it is with horsemeat.
P.S.: I'm eternally grateful that you didn't go full tourist route and put Pork Knuckles in there. Hate how they're on basically every German cuisine video.
Thanks 😉 obviously I am not a tourist 😂 You are right with Kassler, I mentioned it in the second part of this video. Before I started traveling for food in Germany I didn’t know that those are so popular. We don’t eat them so much in Frankfurt, we have our Rippchen 😛
More please! I did not hear about ginger snap gravy?
Ginger snap gravy? You mean the sauce the Franconian make for Sauerbraten?;)
@@cooking-the-world Yes, and my grandmother!
Without Schweinsbraten this list is incomplete😋
👍 Oh boy, I have mentioned it in the second part though 😉
More more more!
Thanks Kenna! There is actually a second part of the video in case you have missed it: th-cam.com/video/B8U9OhudvlI/w-d-xo.html. Enjoy :)

Eisbein!
What’s the recipe for swank steak.
Is this actually how people prepare Frikadellen? Or did you buy them at your local discounter?
That is usually how they look like.
@@cooking-the-world Never seen them look like that.
or a thrüngisch Roastbraetle
I could make 10 videos about German Meat dishes. I guess there is more to come... :)
Tell me more, just got into Germany
I would suggest to watch the second part of the video, and any of my videos, I talk a lot ;)
And my child, so has the great german foodwars startet....sweet oder spyci mustord on the Leberkassemmel....
Sweet. Most people just say no despite they haven't tried even once.
But most of the time one who tries is converted. Trust me. I am Franconian, and Franconians use mild hot mustard. Bavarians use sweet mustard. And I ensure you: sweet is better.
Ahh Sauerbraten und Leberkäse!
I know 🤩
How about westflian STIPP Grütze
